Just bcs they don't have upi, doesn't mean they are backward in this cashless transactions. I travelled to multiple countries including Sweden which is a cashless economy. The infra there use cards to just tap and pay. Its just they don't have road side stalls.

@@bharadwajcvsEven I live abroad, the basic problem with card Tap payment system is that everytime vendor has to enter the payment at POS machine and then wait until your transaction is approved . So that's waste of time and other customers have to wait in queue . Where as with UPI no wait time and simple contactless transaction. Hope now you understand how UPI is a digital revolution 😊.

This actually is because UPI transactions have surpassed Visa and MasterCard total global transactions.
Hence it is a huge thing for India. This makes India a Digital superpower. Even in US we have QR based payment options like PayPal, Strip etc but not as efficient as UPI. Also we don't have to pay any transactions fee unlike in US.
Also FastTag powered by UPI platform is also one eg of how fast we are growing in terms of transactions.
In fact India is planning to sell on rent the UPI and FastTag platform services to other developed countries. It has already given Its COVID vaccine booking system to many developed countries.
Not to mention the Direct Benefit Transfers for Gas Cylinders, Different Policy Benefits under Yujjaval Yojna, Pension Schemes, Scholarship gets credited in beneficiary account without paying bribe to anyone and without standing in queue. All because of efficient and powerful core banking software solutions developed by Indian IT companies like Infosys (Finacle) and TCS (BaNCS) and many more. 😊
