I was avionics with 173rd Avn Co. Later moved to 205th Trans. Lived in those barracks from 1977 to ‘79. Later, ‘86-‘90, came back occasionally for flight simulator when stationed at Wiesbaden Air Base as a Blackhawk pilot and instructor.
nov 86 - nov 90, c company 122spt, tacfire repair. our shop was across the road from the apaches flightline. def best time of my life. barracks were in the square by the em club . i miss that place.
C Co. 1-501 AVN 2002-2005. Finest people I’ve ever known in my life. If you’re reading this and went to Baghdad with us, I miss you all from the bottom of my heart. Paul Andrews
66 Aviation Company first building on the left coming in the gate my barracks., I worked in the control tower, air traffic controller, you drove down the road I walked down to the airfield so many days and nights. Stationed there July 70 - May 71.
I was there in 1972 to 74. With 651 I believe then 350 trans and finally I173 Avn. I remember our housing was right behind the hangers and the flight line. In front of our housing was a big parking lot we called “red square “there was a small PX and a movie theater. I enjoyed my time there and heard about the underground hangers. ❤I would like to find out if that was true. Thanks for all the old memories. 2

I'm pretty sure your buildings are gone. If I recall correctly your guys were by our battalion headquarters.
