I am an Arsenal fan and I dont mind Boehly's spending at all. Of course this season we doing really but I would prefer to have Boehly over the Kroenke. The main reason we were not that strong in the last decade was due to our ownership. Hope they have changed their philosophy from this season.

It is not about the owners it is about the club. We Chelsea fans know that there is a lot of hate and jealousy towards Chelsea. When Roman was there people were saying yeah it is oil money, he is an oligarch and the government also had an agenda against Chelsea and they eventually got rid of him (remember what Mourinho said about agenda against Chelsea). They thought that they ruined Chelsea but then the new owners came in and people started to pick on them again. They are clueless Americans, they call it soccer, they don't know what they are doing by spending so much money. They will always find something to calm themselves about the shortcomings of their clubs. We Chelsea fans are used to this and the louder these noises become the more we thrive on it and love it because we know they are fearing what is coming next. We couldn't care less that we are on the 10th place. We had this couple of years ago and next season we won PL and after that CL, World club among other things.

The reason people say he doesn't know what he's doing is that so far his transfers have been either poor or someone else's target. It's throwing money at the problem of not having an adequate scouting network. I like Graham Potter, but I don't think he was the right manager for Chelsea, and none of the transfers seem to be his players. Barely knew anything about Mudryk when he was asked. I don't see this as a path to success for them, and with the outlay of over 500m I don't think 10th place contradicts my opinion.

Sounds like common sense to me. Media has to make Todd look bad because of the spending, saying now Chelsea is in risk of breaking FFP. They stretched the payments over many seasons and understood that they might not make it to CL. Why can’t people understand the guy runs successful businesses. And as a Chelsea fan that’s my issue, it’s seems a business strategy more than a footballing one but time will tell cuz the players bought have the potential to be elite.
Todd wasn't going the Fernandez deal... Todd was supposed to go off and get someone else... he offered half the market value and the other guy put down the phone. At the very least, he read the room poorly.

Maybe threw in a few more quids, so he could get his way with making them in 6 payment installments ( allowing them to still be within FFP) instead of the full money upfront that Benfica was adamant about. So in the end, win win for all.
He says he doesn't like unfairness and people ganging up on people but was day in day out on Ole. Calls him a buffoon now and yet Ole so far is responsible for 2 out of 3 of United's best league positions in the ten years since Fergie retired. Better than Moyes, better than Van Gaal (who was unfairly treated considering he had a complete rebuild to do) and better than two of Jose's seasons.

City use one method to game the system but remain legal and that's shady. Chelsea use another way and it's astute, realistic and assertive financial ownership. I have no problem with what Chelsea have done. I have a problem with Simon's hypocrisy or selective characterisations a bit like he has the hump with other media characterisations of Chelsea's owner.
The media narrative is crafted by bitter Scouse and Man fans who started their careers when those clubs were dominant. They won't stop, they can't.

Boehly is a talented private equity man, who makes his money by thinking out of the box and taking risks. He found a loophole to get around FFP and went for it. The loophole simply needs to be closed and we move on. No point in bleating about it now !

What are you talking about, loophole? I don't think you know what the word means, it's just a word thrown out by the media because they know most football fans have no idea. There is no "loophole" about buying players on long contracts and amortizing the price over the contract length. It's no more a loophole that is buying a player as free agent, and having no upfront cost. Boehly is simply taking a commercial risk that any club can take, but that no one has been game to on this scale.

I don't really think they are wise words. It would be nice if they were true, but they're not. Football is largely followed by tribal types who are over-invested, and the key to allegiance from that group is to tell them what they want to hear. Look at Kevin Burton in comments above. Does he strike you as a guy who wants fair and equitable views? No way. The media is pretty simply, really. Who has the biggest fan base? Liverpool and ManU. What do their fans want to hear? They want to hear that Chelsea are scum, breaking the rules, plastic, oil money etc etc. They want that same message delivered every day. So that's what the media pumps out. If Chelsea had the biggest fan base then instead you would be getting articles praising them for their vision, and slagging off Liverpool and ManU as dinosaurs.
Simon's remark about striving for "fairness and equitability" pertains to his own critical analysis of football-related matters. Simon is employed by TalkSport and is thus a de facto member of "the media". What Simon is advocating for is analytical balance, whether directed toward Chelsea FC, or any other club in the Premier League, for that matter. Size of fan base is irrelevant here.

Find it a bit laughable hearing Simon "BLASTING" the media over their lazy portrayal of Boehly (who Simon met recently in Qatar and obviously someone he likes as he jumps to his defense at every chance) after Simon's own rather lazy portrayal of Erik Ten Hag earlier in the season based of one touchline interview after an impressive win.... So far Todd Boehly have done a lot of things that makes a lot of people question him for obvious reasons.... maybe it's brilliant maybe it's foolish. time will tell but not surprising at all that he's getting the attention that he gets.
