This song...it takes me to my child hood. I may have been born in 91 and have been all about Hanson, Britney Spears. Spice Girls, Nsync, Christina Aguilera and Backstreet Boys, but my siblings were born in the 70s and 80s. (Plus parents from the 50s and 60s) I got to experience all the 70s, 80s and 90s hiphop, country, rap, rock. I got Michael Jackson, Snoop, Coolio, playing Sonic on Sega (when my brothers let me play), watching my brothers beat Donkey Kong on the 64 in like 4 days (I didn’t get to touch that one). I’m part of the generation that gets blamed for a whole lot because we are in debt and mentally deterred from what our parents and grandparents expect, but also because we are the generation that started fearing people like Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and sat at elementary school watching 9/11 happen (and it never got any better). 90s kids got a whole lot of fun and nostalgia...but we were the kids that lost our innocence and feeling of safety towards adults early. Now Gen Z pretty much learns independence from jaded as hell adults.
