This definitely could’ve went on a little longer but DOA was OK as always, but there’s just something about that Cold Steel energy that I’ll always love. 😅 great job both lines.
Not gon hold you, DOA lost this one. After MONTHS of calling out Cold Steel and trash talking, They got smashed. After finally seeing them battle each other, I can say that Cold Steel is the better of the two. They got the cadences, the energy, the skill, and the showmanship. I've seen DOA battle many other drumlines with so much confidence, but it wasn't there this time. And last but not least: Cold Steel talked shit to their face. DOA talked shit after Cold Steel already left the gym. That right there speaks for itself.
😂 Cold Steel smashed DOA.. smh . All that talk DOA been doing they definitely didn’t live up to it. They seemed intimidated and thirsty in this battle. Their faces showed it. Cold Steel had confidence and just did them. Next level 💯
Agreed especially the last piece played by cold steel. Those boys are bad people think they are just twirling those sticks. Nope not cold steel they are hitting their sticks together to make a rhythm to go along with the piece they are playing.
Loved seeing all these Red Smoove percussionists from TW Andrews leading both collegiate drum lines at NC A&T and NCCU. Shout out to both groups for bringing great energy and musicianship to an event that is now considered the best indoor drumline competition on the East coast 🙌🏾🥂
All that crying and begging for a battle DOA did toward Cold Steel and this is what they gave....they were ok but they def weren't ready for CS. Tune them drums next time too.
I'm Ⓜ️SD so I'm not bias. Actually thought DOA was gone take this battle from things I've seen previously but boy was I wrong. Cold Steel got in yall ass frfr lol. DOA section leader with the dreads was all kinda flustered like he aint ever been in a real battle before and let them get in his head. Ncat for the win
All I have to say being a Bongo Brother from Marching 101 is DOA keep practicing you’ll get there. Back in the day (‘81-‘84) Coldsteel always lost to us until the movie “Drumline” came out, then they thought it was about them, now I have to say they have their stuff together. Now I say MDFS is number 1, Coldsteel number 2, DOA number 3, Benedict number 4, Bongo Brothers number 5, FAMU number 6, BCU number 7, Howard and Hampton number 8. Southern, Jackson, and Grambling drumlines can’t really rate them yet.
Excuse me but are you serious… NCCU has not been to ANY of the country too battle of bands in last decade! You naming all the big schools bands A&T NSU Southern Jackson State FAMU BCU Grambling they all been at the battles but NCCU is NOT one of them I’m sorry.
Man hell no what skill did they have doa was playing high school shyt they was just tryn to sound load they was better off battling one the high school bands there
Cold Steel has more complex rudiments and timing which makes cadences harder but NOA had a cleaner Cadence and better groove in the first standoff in my opinion.
@@albanybestdrumline not really fort valley state be sounding somewhat alright til you put ear plugs in and stand near them snares. Same with a lot of these southern schools going to power stroke heads
DOA was a little sloppy at times with the snares. Every stick movement needs to be together. But they were still good. Cold steel were together you can tell they play with each other and try to mimic the next man movement. The only college that give them hell is Norfolk. It’s always a good battle with those two! Cold steel for the win though!
Every person who’s ever been in a drumline battle know it’s forbidden to drop a stick Doa lost because of that & Cold Steel was washing them anyway Doa was tryna prolong their cadences just to keep up with them then say come back out y’all border line ight nice try but Cold Steel A&T still them boys great way to end the battle all in all 🤟🏾‼️‼️
Most of yall judging wasn’t actually a section leader snare player like me. I know for a fact cold steel is better in skill and swag. DOA is playing shit I did in high school lol. I’m actually talking from years of experience and listening.
Oatmeal first cadence was dirty af (especially tenors)….. DOA actually playing material especially DOA Quints and bass line…. CS definitely had energy and choreography but if we talking sound and cleanliness it’s DOA for W
Nothing but a bunch of Cold Steel glazers on this comment section. DOA for the W. Only thing Cold steel can do is dance. But playing wise sound like somebody building a garage 😂😂😂
Lack of skill?? Say you don't like their style or whatever, but on their worst day CS's only competition in the last 5-10 years has ever been NSU. Be for real. 🤣
Respect to both. I can not debate anyone on method. But let’s be honest - energy and swag recruits - and gets you paid. The general public are there for the energy, not a drum recital.
