    Hi everyone, and welcome to the Timeless History Channel with me, Deric, aka Sao, the Omega Enthusiast. As some of you may know, I am a full-time vintage watch dealer; occasionally, I will get a client looking for an Omega Constellation with a Pie Pan dial. And whenever I ask, do you know which Pie Pan reference you are looking for? They become surprised that there is more than one type of Pie Pan model. So, if you are amazed that there is more than one type of Pie Pan Constellation, this video will be vital to watch as I go through several of the most popular vintage Constellation references with the Pie Pan dial.

    I really enjoyed this video as it spelled out the nuanced details of a confusing line of great classic watches very concisely. But I’m curious why you don’t include or even mention the Grand Luxe Constellation Pie Pan models. I Believe they are ref. 2930 and 168.002. I’d love to know where they fit in to the history of the Constellation.

    Idk how I haven’t subbed yet. Great guide on Connies! My favorite references are the 14381 and 14393 with the pie pan arrowhead config. 🔥 Kind of a shame that it is harder to find one in decent shape and price nowadays.

    Good afternoon Derek, As mentioned before, you have a great Omega vintage watch channel and I always look forward to your videos. You are very knowledgable when it comes to these watches and present your videos in an interesting and informative manner. Just wondered what your thoughts are on the latest fraud allegations relating to the Vintage Omega Speedmaster 2915-1, that sold for more than 3 million? Very concerning.

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Funny fact, I follow your shop and channel for long time, I think the channel from 2017 from your first videos, at some point , around that year, you had an gold plated constellation piepan arrow head exactly 1957 , I was so close to buy it but I was afraid of taxes (was ~2750 then) because UK charge VAT a lot .
      After that I decided to buy my first Omega, an Seamaster 2531.80.00.

    At the beginning you listed 10 important things about Pie-Pan, but you omitted the MOST IMPORTANT thing, which is why it is called Pie-Pan, which is named after the Chinese pan look.
    You DID however explain the dogs leg lugs and the reason they are called that.

    Im trying to figure out the difference between CK14902 and 168.005... so as said here CK14902 is the first generation of doglegged pie pan with date window and 168.005 is the second generation BUT i noticed that in the former (14902) the 3,6 and 9 hour markers has double bars whereas in the 168.005 it has single bars as the other hour markers.

    Short Question: I inherited a constellation from 1963, which was serviced every 5 years so in good condition. I don't have more information about calibre etc. Can you maybe tell which way it winds? Legt/right/both ways? I have a watch winder that can rotate both ways.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 місяці тому

      To wind a watch it is in the upward clockwise direction. To set the time, you can turn both ways as long as your watch is properly serviced.

    • @spicyone
      @spicyone 3 місяці тому

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Thank you for your time to answer! Reading back, I forgot some info. I meant the winding direction rotating the watch itself, because I bought a watch winder and it did not work. But after a lot of trial and error I found it out lately. The watch winder (i.e. the watch in it) was too horizontal. Positioning it vertically does the trick.
      p.s. I learned a lot about the Omega Constellation by watching your very nice channel . Thank you.

    Hi! May I know at a 60s manual winding seamaster deville whats the different between 165020 and 166020? Also, does this model no. engraved at the case inside bottom?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  10 місяців тому

      165.020 is a non-date automatic Seamaster Deville and 166,020 is the date version. Not sure what do you mean about engraving inside? There is the Omega logo and reference number inside.

    • @PeterPang1122
      @PeterPang1122 10 місяців тому

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Tks for reply, if 165020 is non date automatic, then what model no. is for the non date manual winding model?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  10 місяців тому

      The number 6 represents “automatic” in this model number system. For manual wind it will be a number 3, which represents “manual wind”

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  10 місяців тому
