I liked lachlans xguard counter to the near back take, by stepping his left foot inside. Never saw that
I thought Nicky had reverse X. Does this work on X as well? Been looking for counters to X.
@@filteredfavorites8771 I think it was regular X, Nicky’s right foot was on bottom. I’m not best with leg entanglements, which is why I liked the counter, so I could absolutely be wrong lol
@@Danjr704 I am going to look at this tonight haha just did some Outside ashi to X guard so a counter technique was well timed :D
It's a reverse X elevation to enter 411! By stepping inside like Lachlan does, you put yourself in that Samurai Rolling backtake leg positioning. I do this counter a lot in training since a black belt at my gym likes this sequence.

Technical rolls are the best rolls. Definitely prefer this content over the rest of the beefy boys trying to tear off each others' limbs during a friendly roll.

Best type of rolling footage. It's at a pace where I could pull out pieces to try, vs the explosive/ faster paced stuff which just looks like tasmanian devil cloud of chaos. Great content!
Agreed. The explosive scrambles and fancy submissions are cool but hard to pick up by watching, but I can definitely pick up leg lock defense and rolling back takes from footage like this

Great roll, pure technique, each respecting the other one's skill and balancing defense with offense. The spazzy rolls demonstrate a lot of athleticism, which I appreciate, but this is straight technique at a great pace. 👍

Lachlan's leg dexterity is wild to see at slower speeds. Everyone can wildly swing a leg around, but slowly moving it in those wide arcs is amazing to see.

Mats are gross, they have to be the reason staph is such a problem in the fighting world. I bet that would go away if you guys practiced on grass and chose a different spot each time to prevent the evolution and exchange of pathogens. Mats can't develop a healthy microbial ecosystem. All the input is human sweat, oil, and microbes. With the frequent application of sterilizers you would encourage the continual evolution of resistant microbes to grow in the cracks, the missed areas on the edge, in people's sweaty creases. Maximum nastiness.
