$271,183.00 for a non-luxury RV that only sleeps two people?? People need to stop feeding the endless greed of these mobile home manufacturers. At half of their asking price it would still be overpriced. Every single one of these should sit on their lots until their prices come back to reality.

Yes. You could build this setup for way less than half of it yourself with more features and functionality. This is crazy with almost 300k with taxes for this setup.
this time next year these will go on sell. The 2023s are about $159k new right now at the end of February 2024.
@@gosman949 150k would be about right... but not 300k. That's absurd. If you have 300k to spend for a van, than there are other real off-grid / off-road options available. It is a very nice van, but not 300k nice.
I can build a van 10x better than this for 60k

The bench seat seems like such a waste of space that could be better used. If the front seats are meant to rotate back, why would you need 2 more seats? Does Winnebago think that there would often be 4 people in that van?
Exactly my point! I was think about an RV and the waste of space with these 2 seats is a deal killer. It's a short platform, every inch counts and not to have an option for a cabinet instead of the seats is just stupid.
I like the tech and mechanicals of this van. I just wish they hired designers for the interior aesthetics which looks like a high tech workshop on wheels rather than a home on wheels.

I'm seeing prices advertised around $165,000. Seems fair to me. Love all the upgrades other than losing that cabinet to the right of the sink.

The US compact RVs look like the interior of Amtrak, just so industrial, but the Europeans ones are so ikea - like, and design forward.

Haha thats's too funny 😂. Most Revel owners hang clothes in the bathroom/closet when not using it or they use storage bins in the rear gear garage.

Transit is indeed a great chassis. They all have features specific to them that make them unique.

For a quarter million dollars, you have to really hate pitching a tent.
Man do i hate those atrocious looking rear passenger seats that I would never have a passenger in and that take up 25% of the van.... are families of four really traveling around in revels? If they actually built a revel for solo travelers or couples (it is a 19' van, after all), id actually consider buying one.
Many Revel owners are using it for more than just camping. Day trips with the kids, tailgating, etc...
@@ColonialRVmany solo travelers and couples without kids are turning to custom manufacturers, because we are ignored by companies like Winnebego.

@@LouSass112 two very easy solutions: 1) make those seats removable so people without extra passengers could add a side bench there or use the area as storage or 2) offer two layouts, like is done with countless RVs. 💡 Personally, my kid is an adult, but if I had small children, I wouldn't be camping with all three or four of us in a 19' van that only has one bed.
@@gme5802 that's good to know. When I inquired with a dealer they told me "it would be difficult." And implied that there was some reason why it would be unwise. I wonder if winnebego would let one delete them from the factory.... I don't know what I'd do with the seats. Doubt anyone would want to buy them. Thanks for the info.
Here's a "VOC": the price is crazy and you have ruined the offroad capabilities by replacing 4x4 with a Subaru-like all wheel drive. I don't need traction at a mall, I need it on the beach or in the mountains.

It's carefully placed there to make room for all the other components that run under the chassis.
Are the dimensions of the bed listed anywhere? Would this be considered a Queen or smaller?
The bed measures 49" x 79", slightly smaller than a queen bed.
Great review. Very informative. Is there still problems with the DEF system getting clogged and expensive repairs? And …can you run the engine at idle to charge the batteries without the DEF system getting clogged?
How long can the ac last off just battery?
Roof AC will run approximately 2hrs on the 1 lithium battery.
We have not heard of customer’s getting a clogged DEF system at idle.
@@ColonialRV more power then is needed so we can sleep 8 hours with an air conditioner! We are from Texas! haha
245K and the table wasn't even stable when touching it! And did I hear that correctly 208HP? And it may be a great engine,,, I know nothing about it but it has to be a sled!!
Turbo diesel engine can really book it if you need it to!
Does that Mercedes have the Dinky 2.0L Diesel Engine???? If so, that is a very small displacement engine for a heavy vehicle.....
Dinky 2.0L? You might want to do your research. The new twin-turbocharged 2.0L has 208 horsepower and 332 pound-feet. Thats 20 horses and 7 pound-feet more than old diesel V-6.
@@LouSass112 Best of luck with long term reliability with those two turbos on a four-banger, as if Mercedes engines weren't already problematic enough.
It's a hard-working and reliable motor, we see almost zero motor issues when customers come back for service.
They are selling in the high $180s to low $190s.. 2024s with the new engine and transmission are in the $170s, and 2024s with the old 6 cylinder and 7 speed are at $150 or lower.
We have incredible deals but we are restricted to only advertise MSRP. Please give us a call and we can give you the best price in the nation!
What is going on with these prices? Are they crazy? The Europe and Asia market looking at U.S like we are some dumb customers to buy this. For Almost 300k go look and what China can offer!!

Question: are the rear seats completely removable? I have two labs and no need for rear passengers seats.
Unfortunately, the seats can not be removed.
Thank you for the follow up. Maybe that could be something that gets added in the future? I think it would be nice to have removable seats. Not sure how conducive it is to have seats that are removable and also can be used outside of the unit, especially when camping or tailgating. Otherwise super nice, and definitely considering either this or the ekko in the future.

The rear passenger seats should be optional. I’d rather have a little L-shaped bench with storage underneath.

Every product has cheap, average and premium levels. Why do so many people that only want to spend average money get their knickers in a twist over premium products. Don’t want it, out of your budget - move on, nothing wrong with that. It’s definitely out of my price range…..but doesn’t mean it’s not for someone else ….so much negativity !!!

The bathrooms are relatively the same, but the outer doors are different.
I wish they’d rotate those extra seats, face the door.

The sprinter van is under powered especially in the mountains....test drive it if you do not believe me.
The Mercedes Turbo Diesel engine is extremely reliable but I can say, most of our clients have not complained about the amount of power.

Unless a buyer gets ripped off, most of them probably sell for ~140-150k. Still too much imo.
Why would I spend that much when I could just buy a 5th wheel camper with a full living room tv kitchen shower and master bed for like 30k?

These prices have gotten out of hand. Even with a discount, this is just offensive.
Where is the storage for your clothes? I know that you can store them in the bathroom, but then you can't use it. That power bed is cool, but I would rather have the storage above the bed and just a manually foldable bed. In my opinion, that would be much more practical. And I don't know if there is a heater outlet inside the bathroom(for drying wet clothes). If not, they should make it that way.
The Revel is hugely popular and this is the best design yet, but the limiting factor is that cassette toilet. Let's be honest, they are nothing short of gross!! There is a gray tank in there which your going to have to empty at a dump station, so why not just give us a real toilet and black tank? It is SO MUCH easier and cleaner than dealing with the limited cassette. the new Airstream Interstate X has a nice 9g tank on the same platform. Or you can run a combo tank like the newer class A's. Come on W, this would be a huge benefit to a lot of people.

The cassette toilet allows you to empty it easily during the seasons when all the RV dump stations are shut down and winterized. For Spring, Autumn, and some winter adventures this works well.
you can dump in those gross roadside outhouses. That is gross but convenient!
i like this but rather have a couch seat against the wall with no window for more room and better insulation and with Starlink hookup installed.
I love it but why did they get rid of the pantry? Where do I put my food now?

The pantry was removed to provide a larger countertop. There is still storage above and below.
@@ColonialRV After you store a few dishes and a couple of pans to cook with above, and a few cleaning supplies below, there is no room for food. No storage for clothes. Barely room for you to turn around. AND, with the price tag, Winnebago doesn't GIVE us anything! I thought i wanted a new Revel but I need to store all the food that I will cook on that longer counter and a place to store a few clothes. Nice rig though. Great off road and off grid capabilities. Just not practical in the areas I mentioned.

They actually need a woman on the design team. Sure would like lighter colors. It’s always dark depressing colors., or silly designs. It would be planed out better for storage also.
Started watching this video and then looked up the price while watching. Wow, I just don't see the value. The base model of the vehicle is only $60K-$80K. The additions can be at most $50K. I'm not going to watch the rest of the video, as I just don't see the value, or even close really.
great detailed rv review, but i hope people knows that there is a 'zillow' version for rvs called rvuniverse and brand new revels are listing around 140-130k...feeling bad already to the buyers in 2021 paid above the ill advised MSRP lol.
This is an RV for millionaires going to Baha. Everything on the exterior screams "Please break into me".
Rather than worshiping the voice of the customer, it would be nice for Winnebago to come up with their own ideas. If they were listening to the customer, they would realize a van that sleeps two doesn’t need four seats.
Many Revel owners use it as a daily driver as well for taking the kids to school, tailgating, etc...
I want a 2 seater. I want more cargo space. Get those passengers outta there.

Decent Review so far - Please stop saying “VOC” it’s annoying and I’m only 5 min in.
Anyone can build this? Yes. But it will take a lot of time and money. Plus the brand new Sprinter, it will cost at least 100k without counting labour. Can you DIY something like this on an older Sprinter? Clearly. And it would cost you less with salvage parts. But people pay a premium for new stuff, without wasting time, and paying on credit.
European RV's are light years ahead of what we are offered in the US. How embarrassing.

It is not a factory option on the 2025 Revel, but the 2023 & 2024 models are available with a bench seat.

I think this is the best RV review I've come across. Hat's off, sir. For several years we've hosted Revel campers in the parks we volunteer at and I've walked around a few Revels but never did look inside one. And wow, what W has accomplished in under 20' with no slides is just amazing. I now understand why I'm seeing more and more of them around. Truly impressive engineering. If I were 30 years younger I'd probably seek to own the one reviewed here.

if you pay over $180k you either paid way too much or got some nice upgrades. You can buy them new for much less than 190k.

It's not much cheaper believe it or not. The real issue is when something goes wrong, most service centers will not touch a DIY van or RV.
Table not as good as a Laguna. Bathroom still old and cheap. RV manufactures feeling the pinch from better custom made vans that's the only reason they upgrade, voice of the competition. Ladder is cool. Two spot lights don't seem aerodynamic. Plush and moveable seats necessary. No microwave. Can you sit on that bench in the back and add a laguna table? ..thanks for the review
Yeah that table is wobbletown, USA. Imaging trying to use it for anything.

I know that there are people who have money, but why would they go camping in 4x4 metal tent, for 1/4 mil $, that may be simular to their home living?
Because you can live at the beach, mountains, or National Parks without needing to own multiple homes.

I wanted to love this, but they still have the passenger seats facing forward for a tight squeeze. When I’m in the van I want to look outside the sliding door and not have the table jabbed into my stomach. I’m looking at the new floor plan for the Thor Tranquility. I think it’s all season too and cheaper. The RV dealer near me didn’t have that model and I want to see it in person, so I have to go a few cities over to see it. 🫠
