- Although Shaedon Sharpe may have been the "mystery" of the 2022 NBA Draft after his decision to declare despite sitting out for a year at the University of Kentucky, he's no mystery to the scouts and NBA stars that got a chance to see him play at the 2021 EYBL Peach Jam. Sharpe dominated AAU's toughest stage, leading the league in scoring, averaging 22.6 PPG while shooting 48% from the field and 36% from three. Despite not playing a single game in college, many of the league's scouts were still aware of Sharpe's star potential. It will be interesting to see what kind of immediate impact Shaedon will have next to Damian Lillard who is fighting for his last chances to win an NBA championship.

this kid has game very reminiscent of Brandon Roy and the deceptive quickness. He already can shoot from NBA 3 point range with ease and his jumper is smooth. He really needs to work on his mechanics though of getting his shot off quicker but that will come with time of playing against tougher competition that will force him to adapt and overcome. The future is bright for this youngster.

is he explosive? i cant tell. given his jumping ability I feel like he would be but I've never seen him really drive to the hoop
I think he is going to surprise a lot of people this year. I know a lot of people think he is good but because he didn’t play in college that it will take him a couple years to get to the NBA level, I think he could win RoY as long as he earns enough playtime throughout the season.

Man as a KY fan it hurts so bad that he didn't get to play. If he was on the team this year he would be NPOTY without a doubt. He is that good. He would have been the best player to come to Kentucky since John Wall, an I actually think he is better than Wall was. He is so cool, calm and collective when scoring an has the highest vertical I've ever seen. Man imagine him on Kentucky this year with Cason Wallace an Chris Livingston and Oscar Tishebwe man. 👀 That would have been the best Kentucky team since 2015, and maybe even better. Sharpe's dribble drive pull-up will need to improve at the NBA level. He's doing this against AAU talent but the NBA is a different thing. Kobe needed time, Garnett needed time, Ant needed YEARS. The only HS player I remember not needing a ton of time to make an immediate impact is LeBron and that's because his birth certificate said he was 18 but he was actually like 40 when he entered the league. Lol. Sharpe will get 7-12 minutes (max) per night. Might be a solid role player by seasons end and if he develops quickly, could be a primary second unit guy next season. In season three he could be a starter depending on his growth and how well other guys mature, assuming the blazers are still on the Lillard timeline at that point.
