Murari's viola does not blend with the violin. I think it would be more apt to just have a violin duet. The sound of the viola is not soothing or aesthetic when it's tuned to this shruti.

True. By its very construction it is built for a lower shruti, and is a "slow-responder" - something that can be annoying in the faster sancharas.
