You a real OG having these Yes Network clips among others. Crazy how this was more than a decade ago already.
vince's best season!
it means 05-06 dunks coming soon
Vince has had better numbers and has gone further in other seasons but strictly as a basketball player this was probably his most impressive to watch. he did everything with so much power yet just as much grace and finesse. definitely his prime
This was probably the closest Vince's Nets came to a championship run. Lost in 6 to the eventual champions in the second round. This was also the time in the league when Dwayne Wade could murder a man on the court and the foul would be called on the victim. I'll never forget that he basically stole the ball from Vince by pushing him from behind on the potential game tying possession in game 6.
So true smh no disrespect to D Wade but the calls he got around that time were ridiculous. He averaged 17 FTs per game in the 2006 Finals!!!
What a complete player. Vince's range was insane. A silent assassin in the making.
Im sure Vince has to be watching these bro
Damn man.....don't know why Vince wasn't in any 3 point contests. Dude was throwing up bombs lol
VC highlights with smash bros themes. I like it
This is amazing..thank you! Waiting for dunks..
You're the best Max!!!
Vince Carter was magnificent back in 06🔥.. when you look all the highlights against Miami Heat he just destroy them.. that Miami Heat team won the championship that year...But Vince put on a show. The game against Toronto on Jan 8, 2006.. Vince Carter hit a clutch shot against his former team to send a message to the Raptor fans right in front in the entire Air Canada Centre. That.because VC owns that building.🐐🏀
this got to be one of my favorite seasons of Vince Carter's career. That go with top 3 of his prime.
2000 2001 and 2006.. That's my top 3.. Vinsanity🏀💥🔥
Vc my GOAT
And the perfect music as well. Super Smash Bros Melee. Did you see VC. ICONIC!
This was his first FULL season in New Jersey and my god was he un unstoppable. The first 3 years there he was in his absolute prime. I know theres TONS of sick moves in this but look at pierce 11:34 lmao omg Vince broke tf out his ankles
YES! YES! THE SEASON!
Hey man, I really enjoy the Carter series just as much as I did the Kobe series, since they give great insight into "the old NBA". Just wanted to ask you real quick, if you will be going back to making mixes of current players like you used to?
Yes. Just waiting for enough new footage to happen then I’ll make a couple mixes.
Excited for his Orlando Magic highlights!
Haha 33mins! Yes Max!
Best season in my opinion...outside his first 3 in Toronto ofcourse
Super Smash Bros music? I guess Melee was going strong around then... and then Perfect Dark?
Hey Max they going to use this footage on ESPN when VC. retire Anyone know how many lines of Shox Vince had and they need to make his VC 15 elbow bands
13:52 😍😍😍
The background music around the 2 min mark though lol what game is that I forgot . Is it finally fantasy ?
I know we're not there yet but he wasn't used right in Orlando
VC and smash bros? Somehow it worked
17:58 In today's NBA that's an offensive foul every time, which i don't like.
DID YOU SEE VC?
Kobe or vc 06 season?
I'm a HUGE VC fan, this was my favorite season in Vince Carter's career, but this season was also Kobe's best season from a stats perspective, averaging 35.6 points per game and dropped 81 on Toronto.
How about a Penny Hardaway Series
Vince Carter was an athletic Paul pierce
Max, man! Love your work!! My favorite Vince Carter's seasons is a though category for me: '00-'01 / '99-'00 / '04-'05 / '05-'06 / '08-'09 (this last one, for me the undisputed best all-around season).
As far as Vince's top all-around season, the '05-'06 season is right up there man!. I mean, the guy not only kept his scoring numbers averaging 24.2 points in 79 games (his shooting % dropped that is true, but not too much), he kept working on his game (moving jumpers, post-scoring, catch-and-shoot, and relentless finishes around the rim). He definitely kept his hard work on the rebounding game (almost 500 rebounds on that season for a SG, next to J-Kidd), and he showed us why he was one of the clutchest players (that game winner vs TORONTO).
But allow me to highlight something about Vince's true underrated talents:
(1) His ball-handling/Passing ability: it is true that in this particularly season he averaged 4.3 assists, however, distributing and facilitating was not his primarily role (J-Kidd was that man). This man is truly an underrated passer as a two guard, suffering this kind of criticism due to stats (such as Ginobili, for example). As far as his dribbling, superb and truly effective ball handler, that utilized cross-overs and hesitation moves, not only for scoring purposes (step-backs and moving shots).
(2) Offensive Rebounding: this category (personally) highlights Vince's true tenacity. His Offensive Rebounding average as a Net player is about 1.4, this season he improved up to 1.7, grabbing a Net high of 135 offensive rebounds (considering J-Kidd as triple double machine).
(3) Underrated Defensive Skills (my personal favorite this season): we all knew what Vince could bring to the table, scoring wise, but defensively, this is a phase in which he has been always forgotten by critics. As an overall, Vince averaged 1.2 steals per game, and yes that sounds regular, not a top number for a defensive star. But again, he was not the leader on the defensive end, Kidd was (1.9 steals). Vince had 94 steals this season (4th best season, tied with the '02 season). Shot blocking as well! As a two guard, shot blocking is not a primary objective, despite this, he averaged 0.7 blocks (55 total blocks). Finally, Vince's quickness, acknowledged on his offensive game, is clearly noticeable on the defensive end when he guards one-on-one (lateral quickness), or when he helps on closing out a player near the rim. I mean the guy is really an all around player, a basketball player who not only led the team on scoring, but turned this Nets team up to the fourth best team defensively that year (6th Opposite per game points).
Guys, Vince is more than a High-Flyer scorer, much more!
