How did the kids know about Elisa and GHOST? If I am right I remember he used to tell bed time Stories to his kid , Loki cleverly written this scene and he had given a hint to us . The scene was Parthi explaining about the story of psycho killer and a policeman. So Likewise he might have told them about GHOST and Elisa as a bed time story , those names stamped in their mind and they called out during Hyena adoption scene . So Leo knows about GHOST even before GHOST(Vikram) climax Phone conversation scene. When Vikram calls Parthi , Yarrru endru Therigiradha ? Parthi's reaction will say it all. I paid for the movie, I enjoyed the experience. I was able to disconnect from my regular, non-fictional life for 3 hours and put myself in a fictional world where I got an adrenaline rush. Like you said, that's all that counts at the end of the day. Well spoken, man!
This film felt similiar to the way Kaithi was presented with multiple loose ends, but there was enough tension in that film til the end which was lacking in Leo for the 2nd half, but the action sequences like Lokesh had said would be satisfactory for most people. For me, I understood that this film is basically a character study on parthiban/leo and the purpose of the film was to mainly establish his character arc in the LCU along with huge action scenes and sequence of events, which they have done perfectly and isnt your typical masala hero type formula. General audiences may have gone in with a certain expectation of the typical hero template easily winning in the end, but may have misinterpreted the character portrayals, especially vijays, other possible plot points or details may have not been picked up, due to the lack of LCU awareness. The execution of the second half flashback portion could have been better, for example Lokesh could have emphasised the Rashomon effect similar to Kamal's Virumaandi, where multiple people throughout the film had explained Leo's villanious back story with gvm investigating and that leading to loose ends. Anyways if not in theatres, I suggest everyone to rewatch the film when on OTT as the film isnt as bad as it seems to be as addressed by all the negative reviews or hate, definitely better than Master, and hopefully the intentional loose ends are clarified in all the sequels.

If you may remember, surya is killing/cutting people using knife, the same way as arjun does. Hence there could be a connection between these two. Maybe Surya is the Son of Arjun. Who knows? My wish is Rajnikant should get into LCU as a don, maybe on Surya's side. On the finale of LCU the epic clash would be between Kamal and Rajni, Vijay and Surya. That could be the epic finale.

In my opinion History of violence is a classic movie. But all its iterations like rajadhiraja or leo or any other movie are mass/action movies. Both are in entirely different categories

Actually enikk flashback sequence matram ishtapettilla but other than that movie was 🔥.Although that car chase scene sequence vfx was little down anirudh's bgm covered up that flaw.This movie is really a must watch in theaters.
Many hints/exciting for leo 1) There is no bullet marks in parthiban's body which leo got from sunjay dutt in flashback, also there are 2-3 shirtless scene for parthiban which doesn't show any bullet marks, thus telling us indirectlythat leo is not parthiban..lokesh does care about his detailing in character because in kaithi arjun das got a hit in his throat and stitch mark was shown in vikram.. 2) mansoor ali khan telling flashback story to guatam menon wouldn't be true,also he just told oneday story of leo, so there is lot more to dig about the character leo.. 3) that " aah uuuh aa uuu" lady from vikram got a cameo in parthiban's cafe .. " pleasure is mine" That might be kamal hasan's spy which is connecting leo and kamal hasan in climax.. More thinkings will be added... Don't destroy is gem of a movie.. lot of suspense waiting for the next part.. if leo 2 comes then only we will realise how pure was leo first part was.. by the time we realise it will be too late.. Actually leo being shot itself is lie . The flash back is entirely staged by Leo. The reason for his transformation to Parthibhan could’ve been something else which would be revealed either in Leo 2 or vikram 2 .

I don't think Leo can be compared to Vikram and Kaithi, since this movie aimed at providing a backstory and characterisation for Leo to the LCU. The same will happen for the Rolex standalone movie. The reason for this because there should be proper and strong reasons for their end story.

Great first half with never before seen Vijay with great Moments, Edge of the seat thriller, Second half is compromised for Vijay Fans with class diluted with over the top action, Loki trying to direct in between that, every moment except the climax was flat for me, Overall good movie to watch in theatres with Never seen before Vijay ❤❤❤
many people are criticizing this movie like they know every nuance of this movie.yes every one has the right to say if they enjoyed it or not but they are forgetting the fact that LOKESH KANAKARAJ owns this universe and he really do know what he is doing.I belive in him and admire him as an artist those who dont forget it and move on why spreading negative things.
Personally i really liked the movie. The first half was excellent. Second half flashback scenes were average. The climax and tail end was awesome. Vijay gave one of his best career performance. Overall a good theatre experience for me.
Good movie. Vikram had Fahad,Surya, Vijay sethupathi and lot of characters for support. Kaithi had the machine gun scene and lorry chase scene. Leo had Vijay and he had to carry all the movie alone. Sanjay and Arjun was not in as much.

This is the Real Shazam review... Leo has drawbacks in 2nd Half but the Coffee shop fight, Market Fight Scene, Vijay's acting in Police station and the one with Trisha... It's worth watching on the big Screen... It's a proper Theatrical Experience.. but ya let's see Loki might make it up to the 2nd half by his upcoming movies.. The Journey of LCU has just started 😉
What I think is that Lokesh just introduced this character to LCU. And he have left many easter eggs in the movie. Like about Leo’s past life and also when Vikram calls Leo he ask Leo “Do you recognise my voice” that seems like Leo already knew Vikram. Anyways lets see how Lokesh will link all these to the Final Endgame🤞🏾
Leo is still better than Master, Beast and Varisu.... I felt it was even better than Vikram ..In Vikram 2nd half was too loose... only Agent Tina and to an extend Rolex were the saving grace ...The trouble is people expected the moon and got shot out…It was almost like Dark Night 3 where we expected something bigger than Dark Night 2 but got underwhelmed, even though DN3 was still a good standalone action movie… *Spoilers Ahead* *Leo 2nd half high’s* • The scene between Vijay and Trisha in the 2nd half was so well acted … I am sure any other actor other than Trisha or Vijay would have struggled to pull it off… Vijay acting has improved a lot in the last 10 years…. It is a challenging scene. Showing rejection, anguish, suffering, pain, anger and love in the same scene is pure genius … I don’t know if a younger Vijay would have made it through… • The hyena’s entry in 2nd half was pure mass …well thought out to create the bond with it in 1st half. • Napoleon gun scene • Naa Ready than song… *Leo 2nd half low’s* • The complex relation between Antony, Herold and Leo was not established. In one scene Sanjay is saving Vijay’s family from goons, In another scene he is kidnapping his son. Sanjay’s intention is to take Leo back to his drug industry or to avenge him for destroying his factory. Why does he want Parthiban to accept that he is Leo? What is he going to do after he accepts ? • Why is Herold (Arjun) trying to kill Leo’s family ? Is he trying to take revenge for Leo killing his elder brother Antony ? Would he still try to kill his family if Antony was alive? Does Arjun have some Ego with Vijay…He was the one who killed his sister in the flashback too…. They should have given some scenes in flashback to establish this… • Vijay beating the police was so poorly shot… The action choreography was very 90’s. • More scenes with Elisa and Leo to showcase the brother-sister bond would have helped the audience to feel the pain . Right now there is no emotional connect in her death... • Mansoor Ali Khan doesn’t tell Gautham Menon that the guy in picture is Leo…. That is for a reason…That is not told…even his relationship with Leo was not written well… • Anurag Kashyup killing was so generic…. Some Ego with friend…. This doesn’t sync with Leo’s overall character…. Why does he have to kill for that ? • Very lengthy Climax…The one on one fight with Arjun should have been trimmed. Also Mathew was not shown much in Climax… He should have had some role there… Overall Leo is a 3.5/5 movie…Not bad, not great…Bloody sweet 😊
Sanjay dutt doesn't want leo to comeback he want to sacrifice leo like he planned early..22 years ago the sacrifice was of her sister was interuppted so he wants to complete the sacrifice by killing leo in the alter.. To do that vijay have to admit he is leo or else he wont be completely fulfilled with the sacrifice.. So thats why sanjay dutt is trying to force vijay to admit that he is leo
Leo is super movie than master, beast, jailer but not as much of vijram. We feel leo is good if we watch repeatly. 1st half is very super and 2nd half is not as good as 1st half. But vikram is reverse 1st half is normal only amar investigation, santhanam intro and 2nd half from till interval the movie is going to another level vikram intro, who is vikram, thrilling excitment and agent tina and giving many goosepumbs.
Actually the flashback part you said will be shown in brief in sequel. What if mansoor ali khan said a fake story . Because when leo was shot they didn't show his dead body? They didn't show how he escaped. We will see all this in sequel
Leo's vibe is importantly focused on his characterisation, his willpower to counter any things to avoid his past story from his world so in that lcu connections like the movie vikram had is not promisable. Loki has done very well by just a phone call from kamal haasan, these are the only necessities. Vikram is violence but leo wants peace so he will pull his punches. In future loki can easily place them with ease for lcu
In my opinion i really enjoyed this movie. Everything that I expected was shown in this movie. I liked this brutal type of thalapathy maybe its because I like these type of brutal action scenes. If we have to compare parthi and leo....i was very much hoping parthi wasnt actually leo because he convinced me that much. Obviously there was a part of me that thought these two people were the same and at the end it was revealed that they were...which i didnt dislike rather i turned out to like it. As for LCU connection, lets wait and see after back to back hits from loki sir i can put my trust in him. The backstory section was not too bad maybe it was for the better because of how ruthless LEO as a character was. It would have been a definte shocker to the auidence. But i think more of that backstory might be revealed in future movies. There is a connection between the characters Vikram and Leo. My guess is some trouble happened during the time of Leo or after Leo got shot...vikram was somehow involved in his rehab process. That section of the movie also left me convinced why parthi and leo were two different people. Leo got shot twice, where one bullet went to his heart. So naturally i thought that he definetly was dead and thus making me believe Leo was not parthi 😂. Adding madonna was a little weird...but the cameos made up for it i guess. I think there could have been a different way to turn Leo into parthi. Was a little rushed for that part i agree. I also enjoyed the 3% Vijay sections. It wasnt over or less...i tjink it was perfect especially considering the character leo resembles more of a thalapathy character. Now as for vijay and suriya clash...i want it to happen. Im a die hard fan of both (little bit more of a thalapathy fan😂) but i think it should be done to some extent...otherwise the cinema industry wont grow. Bollywood has done it why not the tamil film industry why not all of the other south indian industries. Yes our fan base is more dangerous but we cant live in fear of them and the character of ROLEX was the first example of this. I dont think anyone hated suriya for becoming a villain. Same with vijay sethupathy sir. He does great as a villain and as a hero. If we want to talk about clashes what about the clash in Master....vijay vs vijay😂. We need to start exploring a little. Thats all i have to say this is my opinion hope there are more with the same.😊

That's it @LifeofShazzam. Kudos!! I am not a Vijay fan boy and actually wonder why people admire him this much.. But this movie is brilliant one. No one can satisfy all type of audiences. Anyone can criticise/review movies but not everybody can make such a movie. I felt that minor flaws in the film can be neglected understanding the positives. Overall Leo is a great package for a movie buff. Leo: 8/10 🦁🔥 PS: I watched the movie twice and thought on various factors combined for this output. ❤
Exactly. I was little sceptical about Leo, thinking how will lokesh wrap around history of violence's plot. I think cafe scene was easily avoidable or could be little in length. That scene in HOV lasted just fraction of seconds like i saw him staring at the thug while attacking that woman and 2 second later what i saw is two deadbody(iirc. I can't remember exact moments as i haven't seen it for a while) . I was literally terrified of that scene. Why i thought cafe scene was avoidable? I think that hyna scene was enough for publicity, eventhough lokesh used it to show us the compassion and rage he possesses. And obviously using subramanya as a weapon(it was soo predicable). And yeah Leo was the few vijay movies that i watched in theater and i enjoyed every bit. And i THINK lokesh is planning something bigger with Leo, as the movie was all about character development. Some kinda swag element was missing. Eagerly looking forward to upcoming lcu movies.

This film will be unique in Vijay's career. Lokesh has placed a lot of detailing in this movie. From my point of view, I felt that Lokesh has introduced a new animal in the jungle called LCU. Maybe because of what Mansoor Ali Khan said, the drug called Datura was not understood by many people. And to those who say why Vijay's past was not explored in this film, I have to say what Lokesh said, Lokesh is trying to build the concept of LCU. How did Leo Das escape in the factory?How did Mansoor Ali Khan go to jail? How does Kamal Haasan understand the story of Leo Das? A brutal gangster how became an animal rescuever. So lots of questions have this movie. But Lokesh himself will give proper answers to all the questions in his upcoming movies.

This film felt similiar to the way Kaithi was presented with multiple loose ends, but there was enough tension in that film til the end which was lacking in Leo for the 2nd half, but the action sequences like Lokesh had said would be satisfactory for most people.
For me, I understood that this film is basically a character study on parthiban/leo and the purpose of the film was to mainly establish his character arc in the LCU along with huge action scenes and sequence of events, which they have done perfectly and isnt your typical masala hero type formula. General audiences may have gone in with a certain expectation of the typical hero template easily winning in the end, but may have misinterpreted the character portrayals, especially vijays, other possible plot points or details may have not been picked up, due to the lack of LCU awareness.
The execution of the second half flashback portion could have been better, for example Lokesh could have emphasised the Rashomon effect similar to Kamal's Virumaandi, where multiple people throughout the film had explained Leo's villanious back story with gvm investigating and that leading to loose ends.
Anyways if not in theatres, I suggest everyone to rewatch the film when on OTT as the film isnt as bad as it seems to be as addressed by all the negative reviews or hate, definitely better than Master, and hopefully the intentional loose ends are clarified in all the sequels.
This is just sa beginning. The real character arc of leo das will be shown in 2nd part🔥🔥

Some thoughts....Vikram might have rescued leo from the factory in the flashback. So vikram and leo are connected. But leo wanted to keep peaceful life. But since he had to come out and took revenge on the das drug cartel , in the climax, vikram did call leo....

Actually enikk flashback sequence matram ishtapettilla but other than that movie was 🔥.Although that car chase scene sequence vfx was little down anirudh's bgm covered up that flaw.This movie is really a must watch in theaters.
Many hints/exciting for leo
1) There is no bullet marks in parthiban's body which leo got from sunjay dutt in flashback, also there are 2-3 shirtless scene for parthiban which doesn't show any bullet marks, thus telling us indirectlythat leo is not parthiban..lokesh does care about his detailing in character because in kaithi arjun das got a hit in his throat and stitch mark was shown in vikram..
2) mansoor ali khan telling flashback story to guatam menon wouldn't be true,also he just told oneday story of leo, so there is lot more to dig about the character leo..
3) that " aah uuuh aa uuu" lady from vikram got a cameo in parthiban's cafe .. " pleasure is mine"

many people are criticizing this movie like they know every nuance of this movie.yes every one has the right to say if they enjoyed it or not but they are forgetting the fact that LOKESH KANAKARAJ owns this universe and he really do know what he is doing.I belive in him and admire him as an artist those who dont forget it and move on why spreading negative things.
Personally i really liked the movie. The first half was excellent. Second half flashback scenes were average. The climax and tail end was awesome. Vijay gave one of his best career performance. Overall a good theatre experience for me.

I felt it was even better than Vikram ..In Vikram 2nd half was too loose... only Agent Tina and to an extend Rolex were the saving grace ...The trouble is people expected the moon and got shot out…It was almost like Dark Night 3 where we expected something bigger than Dark Night 2 but got underwhelmed, even though DN3 was still a good standalone action movie…

• The scene between Vijay and Trisha in the 2nd half was so well acted … I am sure any other actor other than Trisha or Vijay would have struggled to pull it off… Vijay acting has improved a lot in the last 10 years…. It is a challenging scene. Showing rejection, anguish, suffering, pain, anger and love in the same scene is pure genius … I don’t know if a younger Vijay would have made it through…
• The hyena’s entry in 2nd half was pure mass …well thought out to create the bond with it in 1st half.

• The complex relation between Antony, Herold and Leo was not established. In one scene Sanjay is saving Vijay’s family from goons, In another scene he is kidnapping his son. Sanjay’s intention is to take Leo back to his drug industry or to avenge him for destroying his factory. Why does he want Parthiban to accept that he is Leo? What is he going to do after he accepts ?
• Why is Herold (Arjun) trying to kill Leo’s family ? Is he trying to take revenge for Leo killing his elder brother Antony ? Would he still try to kill his family if Antony was alive? Does Arjun have some Ego with Vijay…He was the one who killed his sister in the flashback too…. They should have given some scenes in flashback to establish this…
• Vijay beating the police was so poorly shot… The action choreography was very 90’s.
• More scenes with Elisa and Leo to showcase the brother-sister bond would have helped the audience to feel the pain . Right now there is no emotional connect in her death...
• Mansoor Ali Khan doesn’t tell Gautham Menon that the guy in picture is Leo…. That is for a reason…That is not told…even his relationship with Leo was not written well…
• Anurag Kashyup killing was so generic…. Some Ego with friend…. This doesn’t sync with Leo’s overall character…. Why does he have to kill for that ?
• Very lengthy Climax…The one on one fight with Arjun should have been trimmed. Also Mathew was not shown much in Climax… He should have had some role there…
Overall Leo is a 3.5/5 movie…Not bad, not great…Bloody sweet 😊

Leo is super movie than master, beast, jailer but not as much of vijram. We feel leo is good if we watch repeatly. 1st half is very super and 2nd half is not as good as 1st half. But vikram is reverse 1st half is normal only amar investigation, santhanam intro and 2nd half from till interval the movie is going to another level vikram intro, who is vikram, thrilling excitment and agent tina and giving many goosepumbs.
Actually the flashback part you said will be shown in brief in sequel. What if mansoor ali khan said a fake story . Because when leo was shot they didn't show his dead body? They didn't show how he escaped. We will see all this in sequel

Leo's vibe is importantly focused on his characterisation, his willpower to counter any things to avoid his past story from his world so in that lcu connections like the movie vikram had is not promisable. Loki has done very well by just a phone call from kamal haasan, these are the only necessities. Vikram is violence but leo wants peace so he will pull his punches. In future loki can easily place them with ease for lcu
In my opinion i really enjoyed this movie. Everything that I expected was shown in this movie. I liked this brutal type of thalapathy maybe its because I like these type of brutal action scenes. If we have to compare parthi and leo....i was very much hoping parthi wasnt actually leo because he convinced me that much. Obviously there was a part of me that thought these two people were the same and at the end it was revealed that they were...which i didnt dislike rather i turned out to like it. As for LCU connection, lets wait and see after back to back hits from loki sir i can put my trust in him. The backstory section was not too bad maybe it was for the better because of how ruthless LEO as a character was. It would have been a definte shocker to the auidence. But i think more of that backstory might be revealed in future movies. There is a connection between the characters Vikram and Leo. My guess is some trouble happened during the time of Leo or after Leo got shot...vikram was somehow involved in his rehab process. That section of the movie also left me convinced why parthi and leo were two different people. Leo got shot twice, where one bullet went to his heart. So naturally i thought that he definetly was dead and thus making me believe Leo was not parthi 😂. Adding madonna was a little weird...but the cameos made up for it i guess. I think there could have been a different way to turn Leo into parthi. Was a little rushed for that part i agree. I also enjoyed the 3% Vijay sections. It wasnt over or less...i tjink it was perfect especially considering the character leo resembles more of a thalapathy character. Now as for vijay and suriya clash...i want it to happen. Im a die hard fan of both (little bit more of a thalapathy fan😂) but i think it should be done to some extent...otherwise the cinema industry wont grow. Bollywood has done it why not the tamil film industry why not all of the other south indian industries. Yes our fan base is more dangerous but we cant live in fear of them and the character of ROLEX was the first example of this. I dont think anyone hated suriya for becoming a villain. Same with vijay sethupathy sir. He does great as a villain and as a hero. If we want to talk about clashes what about the clash in Master....vijay vs vijay😂. We need to start exploring a little. Thats all i have to say this is my opinion hope there are more with the same.😊

Anyone can criticise/review movies but not everybody can make such a movie. I felt that minor flaws in the film can be neglected understanding the positives.
Overall Leo is a great package for a movie buff.

Exactly. I was little sceptical about Leo, thinking how will lokesh wrap around history of violence's plot. I think cafe scene was easily avoidable or could be little in length. That scene in HOV lasted just fraction of seconds like i saw him staring at the thug while attacking that woman and 2 second later what i saw is two deadbody(iirc. I can't remember exact moments as i haven't seen it for a while) . I was literally terrified of that scene. Why i thought cafe scene was avoidable? I think that hyna scene was enough for publicity, eventhough lokesh used it to show us the compassion and rage he possesses. And obviously using subramanya as a weapon(it was soo predicable). And yeah Leo was the few vijay movies that i watched in theater and i enjoyed every bit. And i THINK lokesh is planning something bigger with Leo, as the movie was all about character development. Some kinda swag element was missing. Eagerly looking forward to upcoming lcu movies.

This film will be unique in Vijay's career. Lokesh has placed a lot of detailing in this movie. From my point of view, I felt that Lokesh has introduced a new animal in the jungle called LCU. Maybe because of what Mansoor Ali Khan said, the drug called Datura was not understood by many people. And to those who say why Vijay's past was not explored in this film, I have to say what Lokesh said, Lokesh is trying to build the concept of LCU. How did Leo Das escape in the factory?How did Mansoor Ali Khan go to jail? How does Kamal Haasan understand the story of Leo Das? A brutal gangster how became an animal rescuever. So lots of questions have this movie. But Lokesh himself will give proper answers to all the questions in his upcoming movies.
