This is my current struggle while living in Japan and going out drinking with locals who only understand Japanese. 😭Trying to remember how to speak a foreign language is difficult as is while drunk, not to mention a language that I have learned on my own. (Context: A Finnish weeb with regular English fluency (for a Finn at least), self-taught Japanese as 4th language (after Swedish...))

Honestly actively speaking English is surprisingly hard even coming from a related language and with lots of practice, so I bet for native C̶a̶n̶a̶d̶i̶a̶n̶ Japanese speakers it's gotta be a real headache
