He nailed it with Thriller, and it's known that when he was working on Bad, he wanted to take everything that was great about Thriller, improve on it and move it forward - in other words, what was awesome, he wanted it to be more awesome. You can argue whether or not he accomplished his mission, but when you hear something like this, even with help that came over 20 years after the song was originally created, we can basically hear what Michael and his crew wanted us to hear all along...and it is glorious.
