This was one of the most beautiful and graceful shows EVER on the Broadway stage. It's amazing such beauty has been so ignored in Broadway history discourse.
I went to see this show in high school with this cast after I heard Fraiser sing "Hold on" to Eagan and cried. Tears still well up every time I watch TSG on UA-cam. Rebecca Luker's passing gives me another reason to tear up whenever I watch these clips.
Dear individual ...thank you for posting this. I know it's bootlegged and that's illegal. But this was the first Musical I ever saw with my mother, godmother, and sister and it meant so much to us. So being able to relive it is so much of of a gift! THANK YOU!! I just want you to know how much it meant to me to be able to relive a favorite memory. Thank you so much! My 8 year old self is so indebted to you.
So nice to hear this rekindled fond memories for you. But it's not a bootleg; it's the press reel (divided into two parts) that was distributed to press/TV, shot with full permission and acknowledgement by all involved.
Maybe now the powers that be will release this entire production and all Rebecca's other shows on DVD as a tribute to her wonderful voice and life, please. Her spirit should rest in eternal peace.
She was my schoolmate and my best friend's other best friend. It was obviously a BIG year...losing her mom & winning the Tony. Lots of memories. Go Brooklyn!

Secret Garden and Sunday in the Park with George are to me the most beautiful scores ever composted for a Broadway musical
princepeterwolf are you a Mandy fan as well?
What an absolute tragedy it is that no professionally filmed version of the original Broadway cast was done. It really deserved to have one.
Never thought I'd get to see such good-quality footage of the 1991 production. Thank you so much for sharing all these lost treasures with us.
I am in awe. I never thought I would get to see this footage of the original production. Bless you.
Glad you found it and liked it.
Ditto and ditto!! Adore this!!

Yes!
Thank you!!! I've been looking for the original cast version for so long!!!
Thank you so much!!!! Especially for the Lily's Eyes clip. So wonderful!
Ashley N isn’t Lily’s Eyes an amazing song. It makes me wish I was a man to get away with singing it 😁
I saw this in 6th grade and fell in love. I had a huge crush on Daisy Eagan. I never knew that Mandy Potamkin portrayed Uncle Archie.
Robert Hofmann isn’t Mandy INCREDIBLE!

Bless Rebecca Luker
