All the hundreds of hours of writing my dissertation and thousands of articles included in my research that it takes to become an actual Doctor. It's great to give them out (honorary degrees), but they weren't meant to be used as titles, simply as recognition.
Why does it have to be called a doctorate though? Why not a degree in community service or humanitarianism or whatever? Anything but doctorate?
