Thank you for doing a story about this. My Nonna's family fled Sicily to avoid what was happening but, before they could get out, her uncle and grandfather were shot in the back of the head side by side, execution style in the streets. As she is approaching her 90s she is finally opening up more about it. The things he put my family through were unimaginable. Thank you for telling this story. No one ever talks about it.
Speaking of dictators, Fidel Castro would be an interesting deep dive. He avoided assassination attempts 638 times. That must literally be a world record. Some of the attempts were pretty creative too...like infecting his wetsuit with FLESH EATING BACTERIA.
I’m Cuban, with family who fled and were political prisoners for speaking out against the communist party. I would literally love a back story OF THE TRUTH of what Fidel Castro and Che Guevara did to cuba and it’s people made public. btw Bailey ily ❣️
@@KatherynMarieyessssss but these kind of podcasts always get it wrong because story American’s know is WRONG. I really hope that if this is to be considered that a CUBAN that fled his dictatorship would be the one involved in the research.
I was a senior caregiver for a few years and for part of that time I worked with this sweet Italian woman who had severe dementia. I would spend twice a week with her, and her husband was on and out of the home during that time. Every day when I was there around noon he would make me a proper Italian espresso. It was such a treat! One day he revealed to me that as a younger boy (he would have been around 11) he was THERE with his family while Mussolini’s body was being dragged through the streets and then hung up. He witnessed it himself. I still think about it to this day and how absolutely mind-blowing that is.

My great uncle was a war photographer when this happened. I have photos of him after he was mutilated in the streets. From what I remember from the stories, photographs of him were forbidden and limited. So we have photos of him that only a small handful of people have seen, and they are haunting.
More background; his name was Fred, he told the most riveting war stories you’ve ever heard. He made a mistake one day and got on the wrong aircraft, once they were in the sky he looked across and saw the craft he was meant to be on. He watched his plane and his crew get shot down and did the only thing he could, take pictures. He was in so much trouble for not going down with his plane. The photos are something else.
A girl in my 8th grade class had a grandfather who had those same types of photos he took and he was kind enough to bring them a class of 13/14 yos and my teacher even said "you are among a handful of people who will see photos like this." I had totally forgotten that until today, even though I vividly remember the photos. I bet your great uncles stories are something to hear! One of my great uncles was an early POW in Japan and my family didn't learn a lot of what he went through until another soldier wrote a book about their experiences.
Ugh. I can't even. Knowing that my grandfather served in the Army during WW2 in Italy and knowing we're looking at the same fascism here on American soil it hurts my heart.

Hey Bailey 👋 ! I came across a statement about James Jamenson, the creator of Jamenson Irish Whiskey. It sounds like a wild history ride. It's always so much fun to hear you talk about the uncomfortable parts of our history. I work in a high school, and I wish we could be more candid and straightforward about our own history. But as one of my teachers would say "History is written by the winners." Thanks 😊

Italian here. Thank you for making this video. I do understand this was supposed to be a video about Mussolini specifically but I do wish you would have talked more more about all the atrocities specifically led by Mussolini. Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of innocent people were slaughtered (especially in Eastern Europe) and the government covered everything up.
Heyy, i absolutely love your channel I binge it at the gym lol. I was wondering if you would comfortable to do an episode on School shootings or even the Tasmania mass shooting? I’m in Australia and we aren’t taught about these things

Hello Bailey!! My family and I are all huge fans! We were discussing the history of breakfast and how the idea of it being pushed as the most important meal of the day was because of factory workers. They were eating leftovers for breakfast and calling in sick with stomach issues. Is this true?? Again, we love you!!❤
Another great episode, Bailey! I love to bring my laptop into the kitchen, and listen to Dark History while I'm cooking. Today I was pre-cooking for Christmas Breakfast, lol! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, as well as to Joan, Paul, and your whole team!

The odds were definitely not in their favor, but they managed to get the job done, and are celebrated to this day in some parts of Italy, where they fought.
Dark history of madame Toussad!! I’m gonna keep commenting this
My family escaped from Sicily to America because of him. Thank you for not only covering this, but also the one about the Sicilian lynchings. I love you, Bailey! 🫶🏽
أكيد عائلتك كانت من المافيا الي أنتهت في فتره حكم موسوليني
Bailey! That picture of you in your intro is beautiful! I love your episodes, I've been watching since season 2
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Bailey thank you for this *TIMELY* video!!!! All i can say is the parallels are uncanny.. THE PARALLELS ARE UNCANNY. As an American in December 2024, thank you for shedding light on what happens. Love your channel as always!!!
The racial laws too, not mentioned unfortunately
These clowns don't want the truth 😤
Maybe she can do a separate one about government cover ups!
I am here for the dark history of diabetes. I’m type one diabetic and never thought about the dark history behind it!! I’m looking forward to it!
Heyy, i absolutely love your channel I binge it at the gym lol. I was wondering if you would comfortable to do an episode on School shootings or even the Tasmania mass shooting? I’m in Australia and we aren’t taught about these things
Can't wait for the diabetes episode! Especially with family members that have it. It should be an interesting one ❤
You should check out the latest video from Dr Ben Miles. There’s been a MAJOR research breakthrough, basically a cure! Not sure how long it will be before it’s made available to the public (clinical trials & whatnot), but they figured it out! 💯✌🏼
Love watching your shows! Have you thought about doing a story on the legal brothels in Nevada? There’s some wild history there.
Merry Christmas Girl! And thanks for the deep dive into this one. He tends to be forgotten about in modern history
Hey Bailey! I’ve been watching you for YEARS and this is my first comment ever, anyways i have a episode suggestion if you can research about : Josip Broz Tito. He was a Yugoslavian leader and was responsible for millions of people dead and i don’t see anyone talking about him. I can’t wait for the next episode☺️
I love the idea of a dark history of the Vietnam war but Bailey is so in-depth with her delivery, how many episodes will that one be? Don't get me wrong I will tune in for every single one but it just got my noggin going 😅
It’s been so many miraculous Dark history’s now I mighta missed it but if not what about Winston Churchill his shady behind the scenes lifestyle seems fascinating♥
Hi Bailey! Another great episode! I’m always so happy to see a new episode posted! Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and safe holiday season! 🌟❤🌟
I literally just rewatched the Stalin episodes yesterday. The timing is perfect!!
Bailey✨ I love your content and personality! Thank you for being here for us! Love learning 🫡

Happy Christmas to you ⛄🎄 and I hope you have a great New Year 🎊
I think I speak for everyone when I say I would really like to hear more commentary from Joan
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Bailey!! 🎄🎁⭐️☃️❄️☃️✨🎊
The best part of my Thursday 😊. Love listening while I'm getting ready for work.
I look forward to these every week! You should do a dark history of Crazy Water and Mineral Wells, TX
You look adorable! Your makeup, top, hair......*chef's kiss. I saw your Fatally Yours II palette today in a Nikki La Rose video and was so proud! (She loves it too).
Just wanted to congratulate you on all the success, you're doing so great! LOVE your channels too of course :)
Hey Bailey, I love your videos have been watching for years. Dark History suggestion: Sarah Winnemucca and her tribes war against the Winnemucca giants. Nine-foot giants, there is even a skeleton on display in a museum here in Nevada.
I am college educated and throughout my education from grammar school to college I’ve never learned history in any meaningful way. I learn more here than I did from any school. Thank you for making learning history interesting.❤
😂 0:37 Yes, sounds like linguini. Panini Mussolini. 😝 Finally have time for Bailey to teach me something new. ❤ Happy Holidays (if you acknowledge it), Bailey.
Hello Bailey!! My family and I are all huge fans!
We were discussing the history of breakfast and how the idea of it being pushed as the most important meal of the day was because of factory workers. They were eating leftovers for breakfast and calling in sick with stomach issues. Is this true??
Again, we love you!!❤
History really does repeat itself
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BAILEY!!! I hope you had a great dayyy!
Also, could you possibly do a video on the history of Professional Dog Grooming?
Another great episode, Bailey! I love to bring my laptop into the kitchen, and listen to Dark History while I'm cooking. Today I was pre-cooking for Christmas Breakfast, lol! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, as well as to Joan, Paul, and your whole team!
I've heard of shotgun weddings, but, "Is that a pistol in your pocket?" weddings? That'sa new!
I love when Bailey does the soft glam look. Hair and makeup on point
It's giving a current mango man lol
Bailey I absolutely love you and I appreciate your interest in italian history ❤ this time, since I am from Italy, it is a bit painful to listen to your "interpretation" of names but I still love you 😅
as a type one diabetic since 3, i’m pretty pumped for next episode 🤘🏽🤍 happy holidays bailey!
48:49 in short, syphilis is the devil
