As a person who lives in Indiana, i loved this mall when I was little. The potted plants, Carson's. The streamers on the ceiling. All gone. Ben's pretzels and a bunch of other stores are gone. The parking lot is never full. But it's still a historic landmark for the crossroads of America. It might be dead. But it was hella fun! I'm 13 now. 4 or 5 it was still alive but, seeing a huge chunk of my childhood slip away and rot. Hits me hard. But on 1997, its grand opening, and creation. Gives me a sense of joy for the people who stepped foot on the smooth tiles of the Concord Mall.

Loved this mall back in the day. The center fountain was awesome, with the soothing sound of the cascading water. Christmas time was magical there for a young child. KayBee Hobby was probably my favorite store.. So, so many great memories from the '70s and '80s. Simpler times. I miss it.

Me and my sister walked over to Concord Mall's opening day on August 9, 1972. We used to hang out here as teenagers in the 70's and there were times we had to leave because the mall was so crowded. This mall was a really huge deal for Elkhart, but a sad day for Main Street as a lot of merchants had left for a space at the mall. The guy at 4:05 has been mumbling to himself for the last 30+ years. He's best to be left alone. He used to wear various 70s 3-piece suits around Elkhart and stare at the sky a lot.

Carson’s? Aladdin’s Castle? I’m having childhood Indiana flashbacks! I’m gonna have to search for my mall now. I’m pretty sure it’s still open! Nice vintage vid….. except for the part where I realize how old I am 😢😂

As a person who used to go to this mall every time, it was so alive back then, but it slowly died down when there was really nothing new, i hope they are able to revamp this mall to bring this mall back up! I am 19 now, so imagine being a kid going to this mall every time!
5:14: The JCPenny just announced that they will be closing the JCPenny store at the concord mall, which was a big store to the mall around here

I live near elkhart in south bend indiana. Really wish the old scottsdale mall was still here. Sadly it was taken down in favor of building a real shitty outdoor mall area/thing... It has a target and a petsmart and some other crap... I never go there even though it's right around the corner from my house. Used to go to the mall there EVERY day back when I was a little tike. Now the target is just an eye sore imo lol.

I grew up next to this mall, i don't visit it now because of everyone in Elkhart making the place dangerous. The Ben's pretzels, the little kid friendly play area, and the shopping carts that were painted to look like race cars. It's sad to see how it's become considering i used to go here all the time, sometimes for birthday parties, sometimes for shopping, not usually for fun because i was little.

I was just at the JCPenney at Concord Mall last weekend, it looked messy, low inventory, and few employees. I know JCP in general has been struggling for years. I suspect this location will close within the next year or two. That will be the final death blow to Concord Mall.
