    I can definitely relate to what you said about your mom being super critical. Growing up, I rarely ever heard my parents say positive things to me or about me or even “I love you” much. Most of the time I only heard criticisms and because of that it caused me to hate myself and struggle with my self-esteem for pretty much all of my life. I’m trying to change that with my own child and am constantly telling her how amazing she is and how much I love her! I am also going to be getting a tattoo soon with the word “worthy” on my arm to remind myself that I am always worthy of love and respect

    Mom relationships can be tough! My mom was always my worst critic but I think it made me a better mom, because I never wanted to be that way with my son. Thanks for sharing, hugs ❤

    Am I the only one that desperately wishes they made baby clothes in adult sizes? Like the prints and styles are the cutest and the fabric is unfairly soft

    (I’m not a mom but I’m around many of them) I agree, being a mom is hard and they do their best they can with what feels right to them. My mom has also been critical and doesn’t always compliment or praise, or say I love you, I get that more from my dad and his family. As much as it hurts sometimes, I know that she gets that from how parenting was modeled for her and recently she’s begun to recognize that, apologize, and try to make changes. One of my best friend’s is a mom and she’s been doing a lot of work to try and do better than her parents, undo her trauma and heal while being there for her daughter, teaching her daughter things and going to therapy. I think the quote you mentioned around 4:10 would make a lot of sense for her, I’ll see if she wants to buddy read this with me

    I agree with including recipes in books that are discussing food to create atmosphere and location of the story. That would be awesome. I always get food-influenced by food mentioned in a book. 😂

    • @thecozycommune
      @thecozycommune  6 місяців тому +1

      Hahaha, for some reason I only like baby clothes laundry. And I normally fold everything so I can see it all in the drawer at one glance and make sure I've worn everything. But now that she has so many dresses, I was like, well guess ill throw them in here and see if that works.

    I have to try that peanut brittle! I also love seeing the way you organize Alice’s clothes, it gives me lots of good ideas for my baby’s dresser.

    • @thecozycommune
      @thecozycommune  6 місяців тому

      The brittle was so good, and made with the pyure sweetener so it's technically low carb. Since Alice was born, I've folded all her clothes and kept them in categories because it makes getting dressed and using each piece of clothing so easy! For the dresses and rompers, this is the first time I haven't folded them, so I'll see if I like that. The only problem is making sure I see/use each one.

    I honestly believe my mother caused my postpartum depression. I know she would never purposely cause me to doubt myself, but man she was critical. Now that my son is grown and married, I tread lightly and stay away from unsolicited advice because I never want him to feel like I did.

    I don’t have a relationship with my mom…it’s definitely hard. I don’t plan to have kids but I can’t imagine treating them the way my mom treated me and my siblings growing up. It makes me sad so many people in the comments can relate.
