Just a quick comment on the Top Dead Center locking tool. 100% unnecessary to buy or make your own tool. An 8mm allen hex wrench works perfectly. Fits like it was mean to be the original tool.
Hello, you have uploaded a great video, my r1150r works fine when cold, but after warming up it gets worse and worse and eventually goes out. After cooling, the situation repeats itself. What do you think it might be? Thank you and best regards.
I have the same bike. It has good sparks but lost fuel . Fuel pump primes and 12v present @ fuel injectors but not spraying . Could this also be a hall sensor a problem? 🙏
It's your fuel pressure regulator under the air box between that and battery tray, the ones that injector fuel lines lead to from both sides, remove the battery tray otherwise bmw says you gotta lift the tail and remove airbox
Thanks! If you mean partnumber: 12117673277. You can buy that example here: www.tills.de/ign-hall-effect-sensor-bmw-12112306137-r850-r1100-r1150-355-1330.html At least they have it in stock. You should check which connector your ignition sensor has! By entering the motorcycle VIN number here, you will find the spare parts numbers for your motorcycle: www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
It's like the Bosch crank sensors if you going to take long trips change it if it goes out you are stranded and bike will not start. Not worth the risk they fail after 50k to 100k miles 15 years. Wires burn
Do not mislead people! These Hall Sensor errors always appear when diagnosing with the engine off. Start the engine and do diagnostics - these errors will not be.
Hi Zepp, I've read the same thing, but see people diagnose it on different forums too, without running engine. My 1150GS '99 doesnt spark (and therefore start), how do I find out if the hallsensor is really broken? It gives me the two faultcodes on Hall, and no others....
Are you doing this to keep from being stranded or were you stranded? Because there is no warning when the H.E.S. is going out, around 50K i hear: thx for the vid;
The sensors themselves rarely ever fail, it's the wiring that BMW used, the protective/water proof covering degrades after 15-20+ years and then allows moisture to get in and cause problems. So either replace the HES before it has issues or like me after having problems when I washed the bike after a ride. Ran fine all day 2hrs earlier. Once it dried out 4days later it ran fine again, that's how I diagnosed it was the HES after ensuring it had gas and spark.

Well done Jan, excellent presentation, very clear to understand in all languages 🙂
I love that this guy wrenches outside in the snow. Totally hardcore.
Can't ride, now's the time for important maintenance.

Very clear and easy to understand. (i hope it's similar to my R850R!) Thank you for taking the time to make the video.
Even when replacing the new sensor in the old one’s place, the bike runs rough. Do you know how to re time it
You replaced for the new module, replaced sensors or just replace wiring?
do you have one video from cam chain tensioner remove?
Really appreciate this video and the attention to detail. Extremely helpful. Thank you!
Здравствуйте. Гайка оси передней подвески с каким усилием затягиваиь bmw r 1150r
So when marking the location lines when on TDC it doesn't need electric calibrator after installing the new one?
I should not is what I have been told by others who have done it that way.
