This announcement made my week. Pebble Time was my first smartwatch and I LOVED it. It has personality, more than any watch I have ever seen. Hope that aspect stays with the new Pebbles, I am among the first in line to get one of these again.
Same here! And i think Eric might be on to something. He will probably not move that many Apple watch, or Galaxy watch users over, but thats the thing: The Pebble watches werent like these big brand watches, there were something for them self, which is also why after Pebble went away, I never got to like the Fitbit or Galaxy watch i bought and tried out. Those watches werent really a replacement for Pebble
I owned the original pebble watch for years and absolutely loved that thing. I have switched between Apple, Samsung and Fossil smartwatches over the year because I always thought they would be the next cool thing. I think, now after having all of these, I would absolutely love to go back to a simple e-ink displayed watch like the pebble.
Eric was on this weeks episode of the Android Faithful podcast. He talks about asking Google to open source the old Pebble OS so they could relaunch a new watch.
Listen, I had both the pebble time and pebble time round. They are still my favorite smart watches watches to date! I would be so down to buy another one. OLED screens for Smart watches have always confused me when an e-paper is just perfect. Please come back! Thanks so much for letting us know about this! None of the other channels I subscribe to would mention topics like this!
man i used to love my pebble time steel so much, but had to stop using it when i moved to iPhone since it was not possible to download the pebble app anymore. for the last two years i've settled on an Amazfit GTR4, but its not really doing it that much for me - i really miss using my pebble... but then again, right now its still the most similar smartwatch in terms of overall functionality and battery life to my good old pebble time steel. this is great news, i really hope they would bring back pebble! maybe this time even add wireless charging to it? that would be so dope!
I own the first pebble and bought the second one when it came out. Always love the simplicity of it and the way it was different from the rest of the market despite the limitations of the hardware and the software. For me, it's something that I still miss.
I never owned a Pebble watch, mainly because I was beholden to Tizen or WatchOS at the time, but I have become quite fond of long battery life where I can find it. I currently use a fantastic Pixel Watch 3, however the most I can squeeze out of it is about 2.5 days with AOD. I often find myself just wearing my Amazfit watch simply because I only have to charge it about every two weeks which I love. For this reason, I am now interested in seeing what Pebble can cook up in the near future.
Pebble was my first smartwatch. I love the openness of Pebble and when I tried Android Wear 1 and Galaxy S3 Frontier. Hated it and always came back to my Pebble. When Fitbit bought them I tried the Versa 2 since it was supposed to be similar and it was far behind it. I could never find a Pebble replacements. I'm so excited seeing it'll come back
I love watchOS, but man, both pebbles I had were amazing. That battery life was something else for its time. I will most likely be getting a new pebble. I will wear 2 watches. WATCH ME!
I almost bought one so many times, but could justify the splurge but at the time. When I could afford to, I ended up going with some Google Wear one. At this point, not sure if I will get one since I use my current smartwatch for fitness tracking. But I am so excited to see it coming back regardless. Always thought it was a super cool project.
Oh memories, i used to own the og red pebble, awful industrial design but the os was so perfect for what it was. Legit the best smartwatch i've used for the simplicity of it. If they're coming back with the seam ethos they had it's going to be a day 1 purchases for sure.
I have a Pebble and would love to use it with my Pixel. I know it is possible, I just haven't gotten it to work yet. I definitely signed up for the updates to see what they do with this I would definitely be interested.
Still dailying pebble in 2025 as there still isn't anything like it on the market. First paired with my Samsung s3 about a decade ago just as well as it's paired with my Samsung s24 now.

I had 2 peddle watches - the OG black plastic one and the Stainless steel one. Loved them.

Excellent news! Out of the 5 smartwatches that I own, I still love my Pebble Time the most. It was so easy to create custom watchfaces.
Pebble was superior to any other smartwatches I’ve ever used.

I loved my OG Pebble and if they come back I'm definitely switching back to one if it has the health sensors. I'm ok if it's black and white still too

I own all the Pebble smart watches. I haven't turned them on in a while but they worked after Pebble shut down through rebble.

I had a pebble as my first smart watch before the Apple Watch Series 0. I even programmed my watch face for it, it was pretty cool.
I'm so excited for this -- especially given that I did a video that Google should do this a couple months ago!

I owned one of the Kickstarter Pebble’s and loved it. Can’t wait to see what the new release looks like!😮
Didn't know Google brought pebble
Through fitbit
I love Pebble Time, I still wear it once in a while.

I am SOOO excited about this!!!
Just listened to the latest Android Faithful episode and the interview with Eric Migicovsky. Sounds really interesting.
If this remains true to the originals, I'll buy one.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy, cannot wait to get it back ❤ had a Time Steel back in 2015 and I'm still mad at myself for selling it.
I'm really excited that I might have a shot to try one now because I missed it the first time!
If i had known about Pebble at the time i 100% would have worn one. Hopefully they're able to deliver a copl product.
I have 3 of them lol. I even have the gold kickstarter version I’m wearing now because I was so excited by this news lol
Almost bought one before it shut down. I guess it could be the right time this time around.
I have an apple watch and came from pebble. Will 100% switch back to a pebble.
Dude? Dude. Dude! I have half a dozen Pebble watches. I loved making silly apps for my phone. Can’t wait to ditch my Apple Watch.
Hey Shane! What ebook reader was that in the b roll?
It was one of the boox ones I reviewed. Note air iirc.

i think that founder was threatened that why he is saying like that
Yaaaaasssss!
Never heard of pebble watches. Going to be a tough road making a comeback with all the big smart phone manufacturers making watches.
