I’ve never explored Apologia Math. That’s nice that it’s colorful and that the lessons aren’t too long. It’s nice that there are tests as an option to use.
Thanks for showing this. I love how it is set up and straight to the point. Is it possible to use playing cards instead of Uno cards? Also, what is all the manipulatives will you actually need to complete the whole entire book for the year? I have so many manipulatives that I have kept over the 8 yrs. of homeschooling my three daughters. This is what I will switch to for the upcoming year with my 8 yr. old daughter. Thanks to you, because this flip through and how everything works sounds great. We have had a math journey as well. I love how it is set up. Can't wait to see more.
I think you could probably use regular playing cards instead of uno, but usually it suggests uno cards. There haven't been a ton of manipulatives so far-tape, yarn, and other typical craft or office supplies. I don't have the book right in front of me currently, but I'll try to see if there are other manipulatives. We sometimes get out the unifix cubes we have on hand or base 10 blocks. I bet you could use most of the manipulatives you have on hand. I think we will be going more into fractions this year, so I will likely be using fraction manipulatives I have to help with that.
@@schultesweeties Thanks. That helps out a lot. I have base tens, fraction bars/circles and a bunch more. I will pick up some uno cards when I order the math from rainbow resources. Everyone knows that a homeschool mamma is manipulative junkie because I am for sure. Can't wait to see all the next levels when and if you do a flip through in the future. Whenever my daughter does begin that level and we get a few chapters done, I will make sure to update you. Thanks again.
