I own it.. i love riding it. In city & also on highways.. i have rode it to the top speed of 105kms.. you can easily ride till 90 kms. Thereafter it takes time to reach 100 & more.
Accessories are available for bike like saddle stay rear rack through some online platforms. & I have bought them & fitted it on my bike because i wanted to tour on it..
Mileage u can expect above 40kms.
1st service costed me about Rs2500
    Second one almost the same.
& The third service cost me around Rs3300.
All the services done at kawasaki centre.
I am happy with the bike.

A bike which finds itself in no man's island mostly due to just 1 iconic motorcycle - Classic 350. The RE has already set the bar and expectations for 'the retro experience' more than a decade back. The current market demands either of these 2 things from a retro motorcycle - 1. Light, nimble and plenty powerful with features (Something like XSR155) 2. Big, bulky, but can be pretty basic. (Nothing but RE) .Unfortunately the W175 doesn't slot into any of these categories and tries to carve a niche segment which has virtually 0 takers. Add to that the sparse service network.

    • @Mercy789

Correct observation. I hope atleast Bajaj should try a retro bike in 160/200cc segment. They have capability and they can build a good looking and decently powerful retro as they have already a refined N160 engine with good exhaust note.

Took a test ride of it... It is the cheapest Kawasaki bike (in India) and that's exactly what it felt like 'A cheap Kawasaki'. It's a rudimentary commuter instead of being an aspirational purchase. But the problem is that there are a plethora of 'rudimentary commuters' in our market which perform similarly if not better and have a far more reach in terms of service and cost of maintenance.
This bike is destined to fail and i somehow feel Kawasaki already knows this.

Older gen needs light, comfortable motorcycle with sufficient hp/torque with forward set foot pegs and single seats, there are very few options , mostly the 100cc bikes! Every other bike is sporty, sporty is fine but it's not the comfortable option always

If it is a comparatively simple bike with a good reliable engine, a sturdy chasis and has a good set of tyres, would it make a good choice for someone looking to make their first ever purchase? Does it provide a room for rider to grow alongside it or is it too limited that a riders will outgrow it in matter of a year? Does it have a new Rider's back when the make mistakes on their learning journey? Would love to hear your views.

We wanna move on from the 100-125 cc bikes that our dad drives and also looking for something retro/trendy. Apart from that going up the engine capacity means compromising on mileage so better to settle around the 180-200cc market.Mix that with Japanese reliability and I think it's the perfect blend. The bad -
Useable top speed is just 80kmph, buzzy post that. Not acceptable.
1.35 lakhs (ex-showroom), which means its going to be uncomfortably close to the 1.5 lakh mark on road in Bangalore.

    @kevinchris5642 6 місяців тому

I don't understand why people are so mad at the Kawasaki W175. Sure, it lacks rear disc brake, dual-channel ABS, and doesn't have entirely retro alloys. But other than that, I think it's the perfect retro bike - reliable and gives good mileage.
I have a Royal Enfield GT 650 and a Yamaha FZ V1. While the GT has a fantastic engine, it's plagued with electronic and electrical problems, cheap instrument cluster that fogs. In the 4 years of ownership, I've had at least 2 problems every year, and it's hardly clocked 17,000 km. I'm skeptical every morning if it would start, though it starts almost every time; a few bad days don't give me the confidence.
On the other hand, my 13-year-old FZ V1 has clocked more than 150,000 km, changed bore twice, and it still works like a charm. It starts with a single press of the button or kick. I never had electrical issues until this year; it just needs a new electrical harness. If a retro-styled motorcycle can do this for 13 years, I think it's the best retro bike. In my opinion, the issues I mentioned about the W175 are manageable because I would rather have a bike that starts and runs every day and depend on it to reach the destination. I would choose it over any other motorcycle.

Honestly I think the Yamaha Fz is a great bike.. but only the base model which is amazingly affordable and yet despite the top model being around 50-60k extra all they have is different paint schemes and Bluetooth which honestly doesn't make any sense and if you think that's a good purchase then you should definitely look at this W175 as a very very worthy option.
