@@ryanclemons1 From my experience he shows up decently often on higher level moons, also from what i hear they can take over corpses if you die holding one
I had a pretty rough first encounter, especially when i thought i knew all the threats in this game and didnt dig into the update. These things are genius
Though I love it as a gameplay mechanic. I just want one creature that just mimicks someone's look especially if they're dead or far away, and it detects if the players in the nearby area are intently looking at it or the opposite, if the former or something close to it then it freaks out and attacks, but if it's the latter then it acts like the Bracken and snatches someone away although I guess it should be looked at at least once so it doesn't just completely act like the Bracken.
Late reply, but due to the huge influx of funding from all the sales Lethal Company has had time to vastly improve AI. Possessed individuals have been known to “hide” on ships if there are players nearby that are returning to the ship. They will also utilize the pack “tactics”, as you mentioned. Every addition to their numbers makes them even more lethal, each being able to actually spread out and search the facility/outside world for more victims. By far the most dangerous enemy if it’s let out of hand. One mask is manageable, but three are not.
To give a grasp on how terrifying the mask is : - Can infect dead bodies - Has a chance of spawning in the possessed form - If the player dies, mask will possess them - When put on, depending on the mask it will eventually take over the player (Comedy mask the longest) - Can climb ladders and run - Can go outside - Spins around once in awhile if a teleporter is bought (Usually spinning around means “Help me, I’m lost” or “Help me, dangerous enemy or situation”)
It cant infect dead bodies but whoever if the guy dies with it on his inventory they become possesed and they spawn naturally and previously infected will spawn on moons so if your friend was infected the next moon he might give you a visit
@@mauvanzard6880 Where tf did you even get this from? The amount of bullshit you people come up with is really impressive No, masks don't possess dead players and nothing you do can affect how mimics spawn. They just have a % chance of spawning naturally regardless of whatever you do.

Welcome to fact or cap. Most of these are cap - No, the mask cannot reanimate dead bodies. The only way for a player to become a Masked is to be killed by a Masked or to put on one of the masks long enough for it to possess them. - Yes, the Masked enemy does have a chance of naturally spawning on Rend or Titan - No, the mask will not possess a player if they die with the mask in their inventory. The only way for a player to become a Masked is to be killed by a Masked or to put on one of the masks long enough for it to possess them. - Yes the mask will possess a player, but only if they put it on for too long. Every 5 seconds the mask is held to the face(not just held in the hands), a 65% chance is rolled. If it succeeds, the player becomes possessed. There is no difference in speed or chance of possession between the Tragedy and Comedy masks. - Yes, they can climb ladders and run. They climb ladders much much faster than the player - Yes, they can leave the Facility and pursue the players outside - Yes, they do spin around in the monitor, but they will do this regardless of if there is a teleporter on the ship or not. Also, this spinning is not performed, meaning the Masked may appear to be spinning in circles on the ship monitor, but the actual enemy isn’t necessarily spinning in the same way. Their directional movement, however, is always accurate on the monitor.
I spent about 5 minutes writing a "guy with shotgun gets teleported and the mask goes "oh shit"" comment, until I've just remembered that you teleport empty handed. Goddammit. In my opinion, while could be cool, I think it would be kinda unfair. For the moment being, I'll consider it being too stupid to understand how buttons on ship work
@@frenky6188 If you want a truly cursed idea, I propose adding a new mask monster. Instead of bouncing from host to host to consume everyone, this one is a troll. They can access the console and can only purchase one item, the boom box. They will then collect the boom box, turn it on, and seek out any players who are still alive. The boom box will attract all the monsters and will only target alive players (since monsters aren't currently affected by other monsters traps etc). And once there battery reaches 25% or so they headback to the ship to recharge just to continue the cycle lol. Eclipsed moons will no longer be any sort of safe. Crouching around the eyeless dogs is pointless if you have a huge alarm going off around you. The forest giants will no longer need to go hungry when they get doordash added to the game lmao
@@velocilevon tbh a lot of aspects of the game still feel a bit unfair to me. The fact that the monsters don't trigger mines or turrets is upsetting. If I'm being honest I don't think players should drop all their loot when they get TPed I think a good balance would be that they would drop any items that need 2 hands to hold, but I would compromise with the player only getting to keep what is currently in their hands (unless it's a two handed object). I just think the game would be better if you could lure monsters like thumpers or spiders into a mine so they aren't a problem anymore. And I think it would be cool if the flower man "triggered" the turret but couldn't be killed by it. Either the turret sprays in the general direction of it, or it goes crazy like when someone hits it
@@AaelmfaoBDplays Considering we got the rail cheese trick taken away from us, monsters should definitely be made to be able to set off mines and turrets
Yes, if one kills you it turns you into another one. Multiple of them can show up even if nobody dies though. The most i've personally seen at a time was 3-4, though it may be possible that more can be at a time.
That’s some legitimate horror movie material. One character finds some unknown, ancient item, picks it up, messes with it, then realizes they can’t let go. It takes them over, and during that, their friend gets to a safe distance away and to higher ground, just for the puppeted corpse of their old friend to stare at them from the darkness, then charges at them.
In my first encounter I found one chargin me on rend and it took my friend already so it was two. I ran from the door all the way to the ship while they kept getting close to me and I used what little stam I had in escape
So is that...steamwork sound effect (of like pistons, pipes, and so on during the chase scenes), part of the facility or was that your doing? Edit: after watching this on PC with headphones, I realize you added in that effect. geezus that made it all the more terrifying. XD
