My daughter was born in Heidelberg. I lived in Darmstadt an Neider Beerbach for 2 years. So funny I came back to message y'all to say the synchronities of life are real. I finished watching this blog, stepped off my boat ( here in Rockport TX, I'mactuallyfrom Virginia), and met 2 German men walking by, happenstance (odds?)😊. The town was started about 1,200 AD and the name means "Red castle above the Tauber" with Tauber meaning the river.

So envious , I’ve been to Germany many times over the years as friends live there. The romantic road is one of my favourite drives. If you get a chance visit a village of Pottenstein there are caves and walks to explore. x enjoy

Sad to hear about your table leg woes, in the old days (cara)van tables used a wall as one support so were tough (for the weight). With U shaped dinettes the table leg (usually only one) has to support all the twisting forces as well as the weight. I hope you can repair it - and spare parts are available
As long as your kids tidy up most of the time you'll be fine ... both my children (24 & 16) get to a level of mess where they become overwhelmed by the task and need help - and seem to get there before any reminders get actioned (one reason I couldn't fit them in a lorry!), although I'm not great at punctual reminders!
Looks like you have this parenting thing pretty much sorted, you should be proud!
