Yavanna, áva hehta eldalyar! - the elven song to the Valië of Earth and Nature by Morniënna

- It is the summer of 2019 and the elves of Caras Neldorath are about to return to their forest fortifications. For the first time, Lendor will travel to this place, where the elves defend their interests against all kinds of evil. But when he begins his journey there, he and others receive a vision of Yavanna.
“Why have you forgotten me?”, she demands to know. Lendor has not forgotten her. He knows nothing of what happened before and so the words of the vision offend him. Yet, how can he be angry with a Valië?
In his defiance and defence, he swiftly writes a verse, a melody, and a simple accompaniment. Lendor is determined to form a choir upon his arrival and perform proof that Yavanna never was forgotten.
From the singers he finds originates the ‘Yomenië Lindaron’ choir still heard to this day in Caras Neldorath.
The song is both praise and lament. The first verse is the only one written at the time, all other verses are later additions. The text in Quenya could be taken as him asking Yavanna to remain faithful to her elves. Just as well it could be understood with a more demanding tone.
Of all the Valar, I hold Yavanna most dearest to my heart. Thank you for blessing her with this hymn.
And her role in Arda is very important. It was a pleasure to create this!
That's so beautiful! Thank you mellon
Those sounds fill my soul with a bliss that transcends this world
Thank you so much for your lovely comments!
Woah I'm so confused... this literally just got recommended to me out of the blue and had no idea this existed. I'm a massive fan of Lord Of The Rings and this was amazing!! It reminded me of Rivendell😂
Thank you! My channel is not very old, but it is growing, slowly and steadily. I'm glad to welcome you to my musical journey.
You’d love the Silmarillion then. Especially the Book Of Lost Tales and Children Of Hùrin!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ especially unfinished tales, Morgoth’s Ring and Laws And Customs Of The Eldar alongside 12 volumes of histories of middle earth!
I've just watched this three times in a row. It's mesmerising! It conveys so much emotion and by the end you're so draw in you forget it's only 3 minutes. It's beautiful, thank you.
Thank YOU for your heartwarming comment! 💚

This Is wonderful!
Thank you!
Since @Maglor Fëanárion asked for it, here are the lyrics:
Áva hehta eldalyar, Yavanna, maitar aldaron.
Ványë cenë lantelya ló nossenya, ló ni.
Ai man hastuva i harmar Yavanna Cementário?
Ványë cenë lanterya lan hominya tauva.
A envinyata i olvar i carnë Cementárinen.
Caruvantem enturca, san ualmë lantuva.
And a translation:
Do not forsake your elves, Yavanna, poet of trees.
I will not see your fall from my kindred, from me.
Alas, who may mar the treasures of Yavanna Earth-Queen?
I will not see its fall while my heart endures.
Renew the plants* that are made by the Earth-Queen.
They will make us strong again, so that we shall not fall.
*if I'm correct, the word 'olvar' in Quenya means rather 'growing thing with roots in the earth' and so includes mushrooms and fungi etc.
Let The Mother Nature forever protect you and your family! Thank you!
@@linerliner7412 may you be protected as well, thank you!
Did you create these lyrics yourself?
@@peytonashley9388 Yes, but not enirely on my own. I have a friend with whom I can discuss my lyrics, which is very helpful in a language with no native speakers.
@@Mornienna that’s so cool! The lyrics were incredibly inspiring to me. I’m also a composer and I actually just finished a choral piece for the ainulindalë and I was looking for a text about Yavanna when I stumbled upon your piece. Would it be okay, if I credited you should it ever get performed/recorded whatever (probably won’t), if I used your lyrics?
My my. This was fascinating and beautyful. It is the first song I hear from you, but I'll surely look for your work from now on- I guess I will be gently surprised again!
Thank you! :)
Mornienna, you have a very beautiful and pleasant low voice and your music is beautiful too 😊
Thank you very much! 💚
goosebumps =) excellent work
Thank you very much! 💚
Thank you so very much for this master piece! One of the best elven songs I've ever heard. I found it last year, and now all my family and some of my friends are also totally in love with it, now I recommend it to everyone who truly loves elven music. :) And it made an unbelievably great soundtrack for one of the most important elven rituals in my home D&D game (hope you don't mind, it's just a humble family campaign)... Also my husband finds it very inspiring for his creative writing and sometimes listens for this song all day long... :) And the video, the costumes are great too...
I am happy to hear it has found so much resonance in you and people around you! Thank you also, for recommending it to friends and family 💚!
I don't mind you using it at home at all, on the contrary, I'm glad it helps to inspire other creatives. Have fun at your D&D game! Is your husband writing a novel?
@@Mornienna Thank you for your kind answer... :) And yes, my husband is writing a new fantasy novel now, and your music inspire him as much as me, when I'm writing my poems or my D&D campaign... Your creations resonate with the depths of our souls, where there're no doubts, where all the most precious and wonderful gifts of life dwell - love and hope, faith and imagination... I'm happy that elven legacy has survived through the history (it's clearly so, and your music and the creations of other talented musicians prove this), and I only wish that Tolkien himself could hear your music, your songs... I deeply admire and love elven culture, and even subconsciously have centered half of my campaign on elves and their way of perception, so to find your channel was a real wonder for me... :)
That's nice to hear! Do you have many players or is it a smaller group?
What language is your husband writing in?
@@Mornienna Meanwhile it's a small group of 4 players from Israel and Canada (we've started our journey last December), but there're more people that may join us in future (and maybe there'll be more campaigns in our new world too after that one, if my players succeed in this campaign in saving that world, of course :) )... And as for the languages, my husband and me both usually write in Russian and Hebrew, and sometimes in English too (or translate our writings into English).
And may I ask, what languages do you prefer for your creative writing, besides beautiful and wonderful Quenya? What is your game - LARP, D&D, other TTRPG or something different? Are you a player in it or a GM? Are there two different games - one in more Tolkien style world and the other in the more medieval fantasy one, according to your different music playlists? I've been fascinated by the fragments of your game's stories that are linked to your creations, and I think these stories can be very interesting and inspiring...
Small groups can be very nice for D&D or PnP (Pen and Paper) as we tend to call table top rpgs in general here in Germany. So you are writing in three languages, that's cool! Are you from Israel? I hope you are all safe and well!
Superb, very haunting!
Thank you very much!!
Woah ! beautiful !!
Thank you! :)
Wow! Das ist wunderschön!!❤
Danke Dir! 💚
This is wonderful
My girlfriend is a very talented creator of costumes, so I cannot simply tell you where to buy something like this. But even the less experienced of us often have self made costumes, so if you find someone who might help you, maybe try yourself!
And thank you :)
@@Mornienna I guess that's my sign to get back into sewing! She is very talented indeed
The harmonies are stunning😍
Thank you very much 💚
@@Mornienna wow that was Fast😏 well i just discovered you and i love this content you create, i am myself a student of quenya, so hantan anvande. Btw the costumes are also very beautiful

I'm sure that your music came from heart too, so it's only right that the joy comes back to you. Nai endelya ná voro quante lírion.

It’s ethereal... would it be possible to have the lyrics ?
I will post a comment with them for you! Thanks :)
@@Mornienna thank you very much, the voices are magical
