Nice one, good fire as usual. Perhaps you could answer me a question. Why do so many other bushcrafters spend ages processing wood into neat small sizes, have a small fire and spend a cold night. When instead they could just throw the whole branches on and have a nice proper fire?

done potatoes in tin foil so many times... but chicken-in-bacon is an awesome idea !..
What a good warming camp out. Could hardly believe the ice on running water, must have been cold. I made that chicken today with bbq sauce and cheese on top.

Tomorrow in my area they are predicting the high temp to be 19 degrees farenheit with a low of 5. In Texas that is just unheard of.
Well it is 7 degrees F here with blowing snow. What you have is what we call sleet.

Your hands are too warm in gloves? What is this strange concept lol. My are always cold, even in summer! When I saw the minus numbers in Yorkshire I thought it's probably worse further north in Carlisle. But John will consider it perfect camping weather :) Now sat in bed with what most people would consider too much bedding lol and an electric blanket. I turn that on & off tho. This is perfect for watching people having fun camping and for me seeing the great outdoors :)
I thought Tim was going to appear with a brush when you were skidding rocks on the iced pond. It reminds me of is it curling? When they have highly polished discs they kind of bowl & has a couple of people polishing just in front?

Cold af. Why not just use fire n save gas.. Lovely place you've got there.. Swimming in the river in the summer could even dig out a little bit to let sum wstrr come into it for a litlle pool
