Don’t tell me you are moving? I was just in Florida for 3 weeks and as soon as I got back to Ohio I said to my self let go In creeper mode. So around bike week I plan on making a detour to not far from ebor to youre garage and bringing a case of ultra and hanging out for a few. That’s u less you kicked the wife and I out for being weirdos but I would still leave the beer, I toldgee
I may have spotted your issue. When you finally get it running you can see sparks under the chrome ignition box arcing to the motor. It happens several times once you get it running.
Love the Show and Glad to be a Part of Shadetree Army ! ! There is a spark going on the Bottom of the Steel pan that is sitting on the Top of the Motor . Might want to check that out . Draining some of the juice for the spark plugs ..
The amount of personal growth you gained during working on this bike plus everything else you went through. Is priceless. I know it sux at the time, but by granny's you did it!!!! Way to go Josh.
Choppers and bobbers looks so fine, problem is that someone set those up just the way they want and old engines will indeed get you broke, you want to really enjoy riding? get yourself a stock recent motorcycle and let it be, let it alone as it is except by exhaust, air filter and a tuner or an aftermarket carb kit or in fact a whole new aftermarket carb (all these optional) otherwise just do regular maintenance. On the other hand if you want a chopper or a bobber it's better to build one yourself, then again get ready to bite the bullet if you go with an old engine, 'cause it will be expensive no matter what, and you're gonna end up taking care of that engine more than you ride it. Just the way it is.
It literally hurts my soul to know you had to sell bikes to fix whatever is going on, Josh just know we all care deeply for you and Chey and with all you do for forgotten angels and others know we are also willing to help you whatever the situation….
My thoughts exactly. The Dung Beetle and Wiliam Defoe's The Green Goblin hurt the most 😪. If you've been watching for a while, he has plenty of bikes in storage so there's no shortage 😂.
Cool funding. Nice bike. I'm senoir had to get rid of my big bike. But Found little harley 750 that I made fit me. Water cooled for city riding looking for miss hottie. Moved myself to senoir high rise. Uhaul storage unit rocks for carport manage.
In March, my wife is leaving me to go to Las Vegas to see a show with her sisters. I'm going to be freeeeeeee from work for a four day weekend. Friday I'm dropping oof my wife at Pensacola Airport, and on Saturday I'm going to take an hour ride on my motorsickle to Biloxi to a Vietnamese restaurant restaurant where I'm going to order my fave dish, the only restaurant that makes it, and eat there. I won't be able to finish it, but I will be able to take home in my top box on my motorsickle. I got the same one that Josh has the square one with a lock. I really like the box because I'm able to carry a lot of things like my old scoot scoot. Than on Sunday I'm going to ride my motorsickle to church like I always do, but I'm going to be alone since my sister inlaw is not there with me, she's in LasVegas with my wife hence her sister. I'm going to enjoy so much riding on my motorsickle I just can't wait!
the latest tshirt with the large print on the back fits great! and looks even better. thanks for making that one with that larger print in the ultra cotton shirt.
Man I hope whatever is going on that you guys get through it ok. Keep your heads up and do what you have to do. We'll still be here watching when you can upload videos.
Josh.. or honourable brother Shadetree.. i am so happy you got it fired up.. im sorry to see you and the pretty Cheyleesie sold your old bikes off.. but i believe you when you say "good things will prevail".. You got Uncle Weems involved on it.. man, thats just so cool.. the "dungary" man knows his way with those things for sure.. love that guy.. Cant wait to see what you swapped for man.. Keep twisting that wrist brother..
Over the past 30 years I've worked on all my own motorcycles but I dare not do it without some kind of shop manual, especially when I'm opening something on the engine. I'll bet there's a ton of used Clymer manuals for that bike on the web for cheap.
The fastest bike I've rode was a built GS that scared me. I remember hearing people talk about the CBRR one of guts had and when they lined them up on the road that same GS passed that RR on the back wheel
Classic Shadetree video🤘. Sorry you and Chey had to sell some bikes. I know you'll be fine bc you always are. Its hard making the best of a bad situation but you hide it well. We're here for yall 100%. 🤘🤠
I was going to put a magnito on my '75 ironhead until i saw how much it would cost lol ... that single part was almost as much as i spent on the bike lol
27:10 onwards , you can see the electronic box arcing against the motor case. i suspect its grounding out your magneto or you have a short in the wiring in that box. something aint right.
I've worked on CB750's and it sounds like you have some fueling issues as well. When you did get it started, those pipes sounded nice! Mostly, I was REALLY sorry to see the Vomit Comet and Willam DeFoes Sportster go. I hope everything works out well for you guys. Eric in Kissimmee.
I had a buddy who had the same problem with his CB 750 chopper. The AMEN electric box had to be remounted and its contents rewired. It was a magneto-sparked ignition too. The bike was originally built by Tony Carlini out of Detroit. I remember that guy very well. The bike in question had gone through 2 previous owners before my buddy bought it. Once the electrics were sorted out, he rode it to CA and back to Ohio, with no major gremlins. Ride safe, Shade. -- Walt in Cleveland.
Lovely chop you got there. Thought I remember you've got a basic welder, right? Why not get yourself some thick angle iron and fabricate a bolt on lift extension just for choppers? You already know how wide and long it needs to be from where it parks. If the original bike lift front wheel cradle is bolted on, you can just use those same bolt holes for the extension and swap it out. I'm not blessed with Lift Privilege but that's what I'd do. Keep up the good work, swamp wizard. Much love from DC.
Weems is certainly a TOP BLOKE and let us not forget it was Weems that introduced Shadetree to Forgotten Angels in the first place if it wasn’t for him most of this content wouldn’t exist.
Looks like a Farbanks Mores mag, if you have a tractor junkyard they are on some older tractors and commonly seen on Wisconsin 4 cylinders. We have adapted them for some rather strange lash-ups and they work like mad.
Proverbs 27:17 as iron sharpens iron one man sharpens another its great you have good friends that will help you dont beat yourself up its a process they have been there too
In my experience copper core wires are used for magneto set ups and carbon, graphite or spiral core plug wires are used in coil setups due to “interference” idk man I just turn the wrenches haha. But if you weirdos are looking for spark plug wires that are compatible with most coils, lowbrow customs makes 8mm spark plug wires. Hope that helps somebody out
Dude you just gave me Deja Vu. The bikes being takin away, the "not quite homeless". the owner of the house i was renting sold it two months ago, had to move. Had to sell my 67 Ford f250 and all my parts, and just had to throw half my stuff away. Hope you guys arent in the same deal.
Hate to admit it, but I was thinking the same thing dude. Not to mention, his garage is missing alot of the stuff/tools/clutter it usually has in his camera shots.
I know exactly how you feel. I decided to take a break from motorcycles and try a classic car. Some days I feel accomplished working on it other days it just compounds the other bullshit going on cause nothing goes right.
Every time you say "with everything going on" it sounds super ominous, so it's good to hear you're doing OK. lol At the same time it sounds like a little bit like maybe Brap Star garage is coming back, so I dunno. Also, I'm happy to learn that you are including a raffle still, so thank you for that!
I know you have a lot going on right now, but if it helps: scroll to the 27:00 mark and look under that chrome box as the engine is running. See it? Flicker, flicker!
If you wanna win the Tour Glide and help Fogotten Angels grab a ticket here! rafflecreator.com/pages/47938/tour-glide-for-the-ages
Josh, check the ticket prices on the raffle. You can buy 3 for $10 instead of $30. Take it easy dude.

did they draw this yet? who won?
I may have spotted your issue. When you finally get it running you can see sparks under the chrome ignition box arcing to the motor. It happens several times once you get it running.
Yep, a leaking plug wire.
Damn good eyes!
yep noticed it too
Right👍🏻 good thing there wasn’t a gas leak 😜 we would have been watching a different kind of video 😂
Yeah something is grounding out.
I am glad you got a West Virginia chopper running. I was born in West Virginia. Hillbilly choppers ROCK!
There is a short in the wiring, you caj see the box arcing whenever it would fire.

That 81 wing looks like they ordered every accessory available in the JC Whitney catalog
Whatever is troubling you, hang in there man. I don’t know you personally, but you seem to have a heart of gold.

I bought an 1800 lb wheel stand chock and measured out a bit on the stand, drilled some holes, attached the chock, and boom,a chopper lift

That Goldwing is covered in stuff straight out of the JC Whitney catalog. That was the go-to for gold wings and jeeps.
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Josh
Sparks when it got running!
that box with all the electrical crap is arcing on the gearbox .
You do what I wish I could! At least someone gets to!!! Great work!
Hang in there, man. Always appreciate your videos and honest thoughts
I felt that last sigh lol thats right about the point where I tell myself to stop before I break something
Nothing better than that feeling…. Hope all is well
Great cause and you guys do and incredible job one cent at a time Bro.
Hope all gets better quick for yall.
My prayers are with you and Chey…
I welded the ramp from the bike lift onto the end of the lift with some supports underneath. Easy way to extend those cheapo lifts for choppers.
I loved riding my K3 Honda ridgit chopper, with 10" overs, had it for 25 years.
Wishing you all the best.
