- When it comes to losing someone you love, each person’s pain is uniquely different, but the stages of grief are universal. I tried to explore those feelings with this song. It's basically the journey through love, loss, and ultimately towards healing. I am truly humbled by the comments and love you all have shown for this song. I hope y’all enjoy this video!
I want you to know that I’m reading all these comments and I wish I could answer every single one, but its pretty impossible to do being on the road, in the studio, writing sessions, etc. I'm going to try here and there as much as I can. But even if I could answer all of them I would probably just be saying the same thing over and over which is I’m so so sorry for your loss. I really do keep all of you in my prayers. I lost my husband on the 18th of April 2024, he was 47 and this song was one of the nicest songs I've heard. I used it on a slide show for his funeral and on FB. The words on this song describes him in so many ways, the starting of the song was perfect especially because he gave his life to Christ just before he passed. Hats off to you Alan 😊

A friend told me about this song.... I lost my beautiful wife of 29 years to a very aggressive form of cancer in January, 2024.... Her kindness and love has left a huge hole in my families heart. This song is so beautiful and captured my thoughts and our life together. We experienced the "slow good bye" and grieved together as the cancer overtook her body. When my younger brother died suddenly and in my grief someone told me that when I missed him it was because I was looking for him where he wasn't, and I should look for him where he is. It took a little bit, but not too long, but now find him when I let sun shine on my face with my eyes closed. Sometimes I find him in the whisper of the trees. Your husband is gone from here, but he is not gone from everywhere and everywhere is pretty big place. Ask where he is and when you're not expecting it, you'll find him. This was comforting to me, perhaps it will be for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my 28 year old daughter on 02-21-23. I am finding her in little ways. You will know it when he is there. So much music that is a "sad" song is all about a breakup. Country is one of the few genres that actually touches on death of a loved one. Ed Sheeran's most recent subtract album might be the only pop album ive heard that is sad top to bottom but all about the hard part of life that nobody wants to talk about.

My dad lost his leg when he was 7 in a farming accident, then was paralyzed from the waist down in 98. 25 years later after still farming and doing everything he could for many years the antibiotics finally killed his liver and I'm sitting with this amazing man in his death bed when I heard this clip. Our son, Christian, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2023 - from a brain aneurysm. Our family has grieved so excruciatingly for the past six weeks! We have a strong faith that we will see him again one day from God's promise, but we just miss him so terribly right now. Lost my wife July 23 2023. She turned 32 in the hospital. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma two months prior and she just withered away. We have a 4 year old little girl and she has a 12 year old girl that was hers from another guy. She was my step daughter for the past 5 years. She went to live with her dad after she passed. my momma just passed 1/31/24 from stage 4 lung cancer and this is one of the songs we will be playing at her celebration of life next month. My prayers are with you in this very difficult time with your mom, all I can say is just remind her constantly how much you love her and if you can record her voice. On them really hard days it's a blessing to be able to listen to her tell me she loves me.

Our family has endured so much pain in the last year. We lost my Grandma last February on Valentine's Day, 10 days later we lost my Dad, and 4 months later we lost my Grandpa. My 15 year old nephew lost his battle to Osteosarcoma last week on July 18, 2023. This song was definitely a gift from god as I needed a song I could really get behind. I wish I could afford to fly you out to sing it at his celebration of life but every penny I can spare is going to the family to help them were given 3 days to mourn the loss of their only child and that's not enough.

I lost my dad to numerous types of cancer 2 February 2023. I had to watch as the cancer tore through his body. At the end after 3 days of constant moaning he lost the battle and all that was left was skin and bone, nothing else. Today is 14 months since his passing. This song has helped so many of us get through the death of my nephew. He had just called his dad saying he was sorry for running late, but was picking up the medallion (cum laude) he would wear at his graduation. He was heading home and they could go get mom from the airport. That was the last conversation as he was killed in an accident 10-15 minutes later a mile from his home. Tomorrow would have been his 21st birthday. He was so excited about beginning his new job in aerospace and had fallen in love and they were planning a life together. Twenty years was just not long eno😢ugh. He touched so many people in the short time he was here, but He had so many wonderful ideas he wanted to build and share with the world. His laugh was incredible. To know him was to be blessed.

I am a caregiver and the day I found this song, one of my residents had just passed away earlier that morning. I wasn't looking for any song in particular and the tears were rolling down my face as I sat in my driveway listening to a jelly roll song and I noticed this song in my feed so I played it. This song met me right where I was at at that moment and it was such a comfort. Thank you so much.❤

This song somehow came up on my phone in UA-cam, then I googled it and am listening to it on my computer now, with tears streaming down my face. My dad passed from cancer almost 6 years ago, a hard fought battle of pain. I really love my dad, and not a day goes by when I don't think of him and miss him and his passing made a huge hole in my heart. This song really touched my heart. I have 2 younger sister but I’m not doing okay been hospitalized years I’m 33 bedridden trach to vent port for my TPN and medications always with some kind of infection with antibiotics all the time and SPC. I’m on Palliative Care and DNR. I’m not scared of passing I’m scared for my mom, she just lost both her parents and going to lose her first born.
