    I'm sick of people saying 'tax high strength/9% lagers' when richer people are downing multiple bottles of 14% Chardonnay. If they 'ban' high strength lager it'll just send people to gut rot vodka, which alcohol unit to £ is the same price. "Oh, but poor people won't be able to afford a full bottle of vodka, so we'll price 'em out!" Same nanny state thinking that led to banning 10 packs of cigs. I used to try to limit myself by buying 10 packs, then once banned I was on 20 a day (though I quit smoking a year ago) . The geezer who's buying a 4 pack of Karpakie a day will move on to a bottle of vodka a day instead, well done, what a societal achievement. Yeah, nah mate.

      It’s not about it being high strength the problem is it’s brewed extremely cheaply with nasty ingredients and awful taste and is only being sold for one purpose only… for alcoholics to get their fix. You can tell the difference between a nice tasting, high strength , high quality beer compared to this muck.

    I drank a can of this once, a gift from a Polish friend. It had an aroma that I could describe as rocket fuel. It tasted very strong too. The name is pronounced 'Car-Patt-Skee', named after the Polish Carpathian mountains where it supposedly originates from.

  • @AleDegustation
    @AleDegustation 7 місяців тому +2

    The aroma is winey, fruity, weak malt, no hops, and you can feel the alcohol. The white foam even persists, clear and golden. The taste is bitter, but it's probably due to the alcohol, and it's also moderately sweet. It has some flavors of dark bread. High carbonation, medium body, noticeable alcohol, but it may be OK when chilled, but later it becomes rather tiring. In general, drink only chilled, once it warms up it is not the best choice, unless the hangover is bothering you :-)

    Oh man, there are def a bunch of those type of beers in the states, especially this amazing brew called Steele Reserve 8.1. I used to be able to find a 4pk of pint cans for $3, or about £2, but I guess they’ve tried to make themselves civilized, and hiked the price up to around $5 a 4pk, or about £3.50ish. Not gonna lie, I’ll still mix a few cans of these type of beers in with my crafties 🤷‍♂️

    You are too kind. I would add that this has a mild aftertaste of a rancid oil. It also reminds me of some off flavours from non-ale yeast that ferment hot and fast. This was £1.29 at the corner store. Compared to the Warsteiner I had before this can of beer, it is night and day.

    Dear Simon, nowadays where we live in the gobalised world, there are plenty ways to get the decent craft from almost every corner of the world, especially from EU countries AND from those few coutries which are quite famous of very good adopted the "American Craft Beer Revolution" - where certainly Poland is such country. There are famous Polish craft breweries, like Pinta, Stu Mostów, Trzech Kumpli, Maltgarden, Funky Fluid, Brewery Hills, and so on, and you selected the big commercial brewery (the 4th one in Poland) and their most cheapest beer. I just can't understand your decision. To give you my point, I can share you my memories when I was in high school and me and my mates used to be buying the cheapest stuff just to fuck up ourselves before the party - trust me I vomitted once I had drunk 3 Karpackie beers and it was one of the worst reminders of partying during my youth time.
    PS. Please use Google Translator to pronunce beers names as close to the native langage as possible (no matter if you're reviewing Polish, German, Swedish beers etc.). Anyway, best wishes, keep recording good reviews and cheers!

    Haha I drink this stuff now and again... it's 1.40 a can in the polish shop down the road from me in Ipswich... yeah it's hardly craft beer quality, but don't actually think it tastes too bad for a strong lager. 2 or 3 cans does the job nicely if you wanna get a bit tipsy quick... lol

    Responsibility comes to mind just like speeding in a car you drink for the pleasure or the bang for buck too much fast food kills you fast too its up to the individual to manage and monitor their amount consumed is it not? pricing is marketing and giving the consumer an alternative to the likes of other super beers, all in moderation I say!

    What a load of bollox man:) i do understand that its not your taste or you are not a target customer for them but come on... Those almost blind people get what they want as they can read 9 and not spend more then £1:)
    Besides thank you for the reference to one of the bear (SH). Thats exactly what i needed to know:)
