i'm genuinely amazed by this, they look identical to the film characters! if you showed me a photo of these people in costume and told me it was the original cast i'd believe it.
And to think that the real actors make up was actually really bad, I don’t mean it was bad in a appearance way I mean bad as in they suffered in their costumes a lot
Everyone of the main cast is gone now. The only ones likely left are the children in the background to help fill out Munchkindland with the 124 Singer Midgets.
I remember ordering this magazine and the VHS. Such a special and fascinating tribute to the artwork and craftsmanship of the original costume & makeup departments at MGM!
@@ScottEssmannycayeah it’s not like adults don’t play kids in movies so I truly think the costumes, prosphetics etc are out there to transform these actors again
im 16 minutes in and enjoying the scarecrow ,tin man and cowardly lion recreations which are almost perfect but the actress seems slightly too mature to be Dorothy even though judy was late teens during filming ,no offence meant just an observation
Oh, knock it off; songs are there to have fun with. Judy Garland herself took off "Over the Rainbow" as "Over a Barrel" in the radio musical "Dick Tracy in B Flat."
@bestdamnalex It's not a matter of opinion; songs have been spoofed since there have been songs. Allan Sherman and Weird Al Yankovic have built their careers on the practice.

The actors and the makeup is incredible. WOW!
And to think that the real actors make up was actually really bad, I don’t mean it was bad in a appearance way I mean bad as in they suffered in their costumes a lot
That was very interesting to watch. Sad to see the main munchkins cast all gone now. Thanks for sharing that tribute!!!

@@TherealRNOwwfpooh true, and they will be very old by now. Lot the munchkins had very clear memories of the movie and that was very interesting
Everyone looks amazing can we get a second wizard of Oz movie with these darlings
It takes more than looks to do a remake.
@@MaskedMan66 I know that idiot u need to act, sing etc
The Lion's performance was perfect!!!
Fun fact: jess harnell the voice of wakko was cowardly lion in the wizard of oz play remake
the flying monkey costumes are phenomenal
This is sheer GOLD. Beautiful
Oh I am melting who would have thought a girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness with cgi lol
love
Great skills...

Wow the scare crow and Tin man reaaaally look like the movie!
I love the wizard of Oz 😍🥰😜😭😂🤣
Lion costumes great
you cant recreate perfection. They look GREAT, but the original was perfect in every way.
Not every way; there are plenty of flaws, but no movie is perfect. And this is meant as a tribute, not a recreation.
They should do a new movie with these people.

Ron Delby -- I'm ready, willing, and able! Of course, this is 20 years ago. We might need to dust off some costume pieces.

¿AND TOTO THE DOG ? 2023. 🇺🇸👌🐕
Nothing can beat the original
You mean the original book from 1900, the original lay from 1902, or the original movie from 1910?
That witch was treacherous 😳

What material was the Tin Man's "metal" pieces made out of in this tribute? Were they actual aluminum?
The costume was an actual metal, custom made for the actor.
Thank you so much! I'm currently trying to do research for a future event I have to build each character for! :)@@ScottEssmannyca
Love learning about the techniques for the makeup hyphen the woman who played the witch looked a lot like Margaret Hamilton
Incredible job! I once saw a Glinda on Halloween night. She looked like a carbon copy! I wonder why they left her out?
Is this the one where Mickey Rooney plays the wizard?
Where did the Dorothy character get her wig from from like it
Professional hair and wig stylists.
@@ScottEssmannycahow did they did they get the curls
@@latoyawinston1007 - hair extensions created by Hollywood wigmakers/hairstylists.
CGI deleted the witch. Her remaining data is now being installed on Microsoft! 🤣
Was Glinda on Vacation?
Please, do NOT do a remake of this classic film!
well they are. Its not a remake its more of an adaptation of it
@@chelsiirvine8970 They've done several adaptations. Wicked is just one of them.

Why did they change the song lyrics? You don't mess with classic originals.

Because this was a tribute, not the film.

why was he saying foam instead of brain......... wtf
It's to do with the make-up process. It helps to watch the whole thing.
This was a tribute to the film, not the film itself.
