Ever since I was 3 when this came out, this has always been one of the most unique songs I’ve ever heard in my life. There isn’t another song that sounds anything like “No One Knows”. It’s a masterpiece
You're exactly right. There's something really unusual yet additive to the sound :) I've been coming back to it over and over since it was released. On a side note, there are some great cover versions of these song that you should track down :)
the staccato rhythm guitar/bass is probably it, it has this jumpy, high energy to it that is easy to headbang to, this track immediately grabs your attention from the start, and never lets go
True story: I was at the dentist office and just barely heard this playing overhead on the radio, I mistook it for Hall & Oates "You Make My Dreams Come True". ua-cam.com/video/EErSKhC0CZs/v-deo.html
Yeap. UE, Gafta, Nations League, ONZ, America, NATO, Watican, Bowie song się, Nirvana ( Inne Bloom shoes The Beattles. ..)- Adorno, Huxley, Orwell. = The Book of Daniel
Before I ever heard this song, I read about the album in a guitar magazine. The article described their music so enthusiastically and with such accurate detail, that when I first heard this song over the radio, without introduction I knew in a flash it was them. They were a gutpunch to the mainstream rock scene at the time, it's hard now to remember how much they stood out at first.
I can't believe I'm the 1st person to like your comment.. Welcome!💖👍 QOTSA are just one of THE BEST bands.. Endlessly listenable..all their albums. Enjoy!😉
His tone IS killer and great line throught. The breakdown in the middle is the least impressive to me(as a bass player) YET awesome because it's just a flay(nutty fingers, 3-4 whipping like mad). I like how the video timing is off so they all look extra spastic during that.
@Minwon Jang Well true. I'm a rock and metal fan and there are like 500-5000 different sub-genres according to different people and different people categorize bands so differently. Some call something metal, then some come and say that it's actually not etc. Endless debates of what's hard rock and what's heavy metal. Like, I use these sub-genre classifications, but sometimes I just don't care about if it isn't "metal" or "rock" according to some people. Some rock just is "poppier" or "more metal" than others. These sub-genre classifications are pretty limiting so often it's better to just not use 'em.
Because its True. Watican is Babilon as well like: Gafta, UE, ONZ, America, History of Africa, Jalta in 45, Nations League in 1919, Wietnam, II war, Syria, Afganistan and much more... Bowie ( Oxford, Adorno, Huxley, Marcusse, The Doors shows " Chaos theory", Nirvana song- Penyroyal tea, Dumb... They knows They knows. It looks like - The Book of Daniel. All the best.
this reminds me the old saying ''sometimes the hunter became the prey'', although with a lot of fun of course, another unforgettable masterpiece of this great band.
An absolute, certified, All-time Classic Banger! It is impossible for this song to become old or dated, because it truly the definition of "Timeless". Loved it the minute I first heard it, and I love it even more today!

God why is Dave grohl such a fucking beast. It's not fair that one man should be so talented. I mean he is probably a top ten drummer of all time, an incredible song writer and an amazing front man. Not to mention all the influential bands he has had his hands in. Next level
Nathan James grohl, Travis barker and the drummer from YellowCard are top 3 drummers of all time in rock. Plus Ringo Star somewhere on that list plus Questlove. Oh yeah and Adrian from No Doubt. And Flea from RHCP. These last two were edited after thoughts but still relevant! My top seven drummers of all time. Seven is the number of completion. My dogs name is seven bc he completes me. Tears.
That damn drummer rode that f**king beat. He is a BEAST!!! I have never seen a drummer play with so much power. Yet it seemed effortless. They are all talented musicians but he is next level. Amazing Song too.
Jeremy Monigold I guess you are speaking of his persona. Possibly his membership in several bands, oftentimes simultaneously, is a small part of his mass appeal.....while seeming to be somewhat aloof of his gifts. I'm no expert but his musicality, talents, and abilities are where his simplicity ceases to exist. Once he picks up an instrument or drumsticks, things become rapidly complicated. I would imagine it's a challenge for a mediocre musician to keep up, however, a jam session is probably equivalent to a master's level course study.
Haven't listened this in years, popped up in my feed...man it still sounds as fresh as the day it was released, not aged at all.....everything about it is timeless...but Dave on the drums is just off the scale....
I think he was one of those people who really welcomed death of Kurt Cobain as I've read somewhere that Kurt was against Dave's ideas for future Nirvana's songs. Btw. if I could I would have voted for Trump for 2020. :) but I am not a US citizen, nor a Russian hacker :D

Grohl’s powerdrums :)
Josh and Dave are an incredible pairing.
Anything they do together is going to be awesome.
Saw them live once and it was amazing!
Grohl bangs the drum like it owes him money or something.
As does max Weinberg ;)
Coz all drummers are realy debt collectors just warming up for the days jobs
Oh, they do

We get some rules to follow
That and this, these and those
No one knows
We get these pills to swallow
How they stick in your throat?
Tastes like gold
Oh, what you do to me
No one knows
And I realize you're mine
Indeed a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed a fool am I
I journey through the desert
Of the mind with no hope
I follow
I drift along the ocean
Dead lifeboats in the sun
And come undone
Pleasantly caving in
I come undone
And I realize you're mine
Indeed a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed a fool am I
Heaven smiles above me

Hell, the whole album is a masterpiece!
Yeah it’s a masterpiece
Dave Grohl is the Samuel L Jackson of music. He’s in every band.
🤣🤣🤣👍
And he's fucking badass
Dave Grohl / Samuel L. Mutha-Frakkin' Jackson! Both are busier than a one-armed-drummer at a LIVE-AID concert!!!
😂😂😂
Lucky for them, those & is. Everyone knows 🤘😎😎
My dad and I used to listen to this, when-ever we drove to my elementary school, this made me shed a tear hearing it again...
I used to race motocross and blasted this the whole way to races. No longer can race but the song still gets me pumped - just all-time badass jam!
That drummer has some talent. Hope he sticks with it.
😅😂
@michaellishinski6720 Dave Grohl, huh? I'll remember it. I'm sure he has a promising career of ahead of him. I can see him leading his own band, even!

Just killer
Agree
Yes sir, you are a GENIUS... You have made me believe again.
.
Welcome!💖👍
QOTSA are just one of THE BEST bands..
Endlessly listenable..all their albums.
Enjoy!😉
this bassline is SO gnarly and underappreciated. ofc daves killing it as always but nick olivieri's sound is so distinctive . banger track
Expected to find more comments like yours.
His tone IS killer and great line throught. The breakdown in the middle is the least impressive to me(as a bass player) YET awesome because it's just a flay(nutty fingers, 3-4 whipping like mad). I like how the video timing is off so they all look extra spastic during that.
I swore I thought it was a young flea, even when this was just released,
say it dude🙂
Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Dave's done it all
Right?? Played with Rush, Crooked Vultures, and Tenacious D to
AJ Sweeney Don't forget he played with Liam Lynch
Dale Warren And with a lot of Led Zeppelin members
Dale Warren and crooked vultures
INAUDIATIOSNESS 43 even beyond my knowledge, he is one of the most well rounded musicians of all time
what a talent, Grohl does everythings, sings , play guitar, drums. He is a genius
If anyone asks why rock songs are so good then tell them to look at this video. It has everything. The guitars, the drums & the voice.
And the bass ❤️
honestly, it has one of the best rock bass tracks ever as well.
And the deers
@Minwon Jang Well true. I'm a rock and metal fan and there are like 500-5000 different sub-genres according to different people and different people categorize bands so differently. Some call something metal, then some come and say that it's actually not etc. Endless debates of what's hard rock and what's heavy metal. Like, I use these sub-genre classifications, but sometimes I just don't care about if it isn't "metal" or "rock" according to some people. Some rock just is "poppier" or "more metal" than others. These sub-genre classifications are pretty limiting so often it's better to just not use 'em.
100% accurate. Every single facet of this song is great. I'm a big hip hop/r&b guy but songs like this are why I love rock as well.
Josh looks like a mix between Elvis and Eminem
Now that you mention it...
R/rareinsults
YOU CAN’T JUST _SAY_ THINGS
Eminelvis.
Liam Fitzgerald THAT’S EVEN WORSE
The riff is so unique and throughout the song they just play in ways I’ve never quite heard before and it just leads to this masterpiece of a song
bluesy yet polka influenced
On this song, the instruments are all tuned down one whole note. Gives it it’s growl!
@@stevegosper5027 2 whole notes. It's in C standard, not D standard.

this reminds me the old saying ''sometimes the hunter became the prey'', although with a lot of fun of course, another unforgettable masterpiece of this great band.
I still remember them playing this at the NiN/QoTSA joint gig I went to and it fucking blew up the stadium

I'm here to say Hi
I was at the Sydney, Newcastle, & Brisbane shows in Australia 😁👍
Ah, yes, my favorite part at 03:15, where they decided to play a drum solo on top of a guitar solo on top of a bass solo. Amazing.
People are crying about what happened to Elvis Elvis came back with Queen of the Stone Age baby
Good ol' Dave Grohl, beating those drums like they owe him money.

Sagdrag Damn skippy!
Killer riff! Even better drumming, Dave is the SHIT!
That combination of Josh, Nick O., and Dave G. was perfection. Only those three could generate the right pile-driving sound.
Pure class
Jeff R. Don't forget about Troy (Failure, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer). He adds beef to the guitar
This tune stuck in my head for three days, couldn’t remember any lyrics. Hallelujah, this was an itch I couldn’t scratch.
the drum work on this album is just spectacular.
Well mr.Grohl was in his prime i think...his perfomance on this album is legendary!
An absolute, certified, All-time Classic Banger!

God why is Dave grohl such a fucking beast. It's not fair that one man should be so talented. I mean he is probably a top ten drummer of all time, an incredible song writer and an amazing front man. Not to mention all the influential bands he has had his hands in. Next level
Nathan James he is the most talented guy that we have left.
Perhaps this man sold his Soul?
hes good man but top 10 is an exageration
Here Here!!!!
Deirdre Brazzel he’s dave grohl, the drummer of nirvana and the lead singer and guitarist of foo fighters
themreyeballs no no no, you've got it all wrong. In all simplicity dave grohl is a God. He is everywhere and nowhere st the same time 😂
themreyeballs Thanks.....I knew he seemed very familiar. But I couldn't remember the name.
Deirdre Brazzel dude how do you not know Dave Grohl???? He's more recognisable than God!!
Manager: so Dave in how many bands do you wanna play?
Dave: Yes.
Gus S very true 😂😂
And be a LEGEND!!!!
According to Google hes been in 9-13 bands my god
LMAO OMFG
@Paweł Adamowski yes
Not the greatest husband, but one of the greatest drummers.
Everything about this song is perfect. The bass, guitar, drums, and the vocals. Just perfect.
The entire album “Songs for the Deaf” is a masterpiece! Part of the soundtrack of my life ❤️
WHAAT?!? 😺
I still love this song!... that guitar riff is hypnotic and Dave's drums are killer!!!
Dave’s best drumming peformance along with everlong brilliant song 👌
Haven't listened this in years, popped up in my feed...man it still sounds as fresh as the day it was released, not aged at all.....everything about it is timeless...but Dave on the drums is just off the scale....
It’s 2023, this is still one of the hardest most bad ass songs EVER! Dave Grohl is hands down one of the top 3 best drummers alive!!!!
Dave is fighting that drums like they were a Foo

I have to disagree! No offence, but great comparison.
Fun fact: Dave Grohl played the drums on every Top 40 song in the 90s and 00s, every single one😲🤚

Charles Monti I know! That's what makes it so entertaining. He's just a very talented soul.
This song (along with Empire of the Sun "Walking on a Dream') reminds me of Emma, the colleague I like in work. I was talking to her and this song came on the radio.
I can't describe how awesome this song is! It's just that the guitar and the voice sound so perfect it makes me love it.
