Such a great interview! Most interview's I've seen with Ben, he goes into his jokey, improv kinda background but here he is fully engaged with the questions and topics which is a compliment to the interviewer for being knowledgeable and engaging in this field.
yea I love Rick a lot but he on a few occasions has cringey pronoun jokes. him not picking up on “two person show” is not a surprise. as a trans person, not saying it like i think its a problem. just something ive noticed
Agreed. The allegations are in the past and Thomas is on the straight and narrow and yet Ben’s “people” still won’t allow the two to work together. What’s worse, is I think their friendship has also suffered and in no signs of recovery.
Maybe I'm not familiar with the host's interviewing style, but for me it was really jarring to have them both interrupting each other all the time. It's a very Jimmy Fallon style of interviewing, which is not a compliment. To be fair, Ben interrupts too, but as guest, he gets a bit more leeway. The host is on every episode so there shouldn't be any need to fight for air time. I guess Rick is eager to talk to Ben, so I don't get the impression he's trying to rush through the interview, but still jarring to have all these incomplete trains of thought throughout the whole video.
@@asundergrowth short form improv is comprised of (mostly dumb) games. Long form improv is what Ben and Thomas and others are doing now (and many have been doing since it was invented in the 60s). Yes, definitely look into it. Big difference.

Crazy how Ben straight up gives the host the phrase ‘two-person show’ when he’s looking for it and the host still says ‘two-man show’z

if i was an eccentric billionaire i'd pay to create/see an improv supergroup of TJ, Dave, Ben, & Thomas
What a great interview with Ben Schwartz!
Love the Josh Lawson references
I swear I saw this Ben Schwartz guy when he used to be a Private Detective addicted to M&Ms
That's a totally different guy with a very ordinary name
The TJ and Dave documentary is “Trust Us This is All Made Up” They also VERY rarely will live stream one of their shows.
I wish he and Middleditch would start working together again, they haven't done anything in years
Tommy was a bad boy
bc of his allegations
@@Martin.G middleditch has some allegations just google it that’s why Ben stopped working with him
@@Atruebottomgal well that sucks…

Why no mention of Who’s Line? It feels like that was popular mainline into Improv for people, in a world dominated by standup
Do you know the difference between dumb game improv and long-form?
@@BinocularRivalry honestly no, not really. is it worth looking into?

@@BinocularRivalry I loooove long form improv - watching and performing - but HARD disagree with the phrase "dumb game improv"
@@namfow fair. Some of the games are great, this is true.
I never understood this, you can find the literal dumbest stuff on UA-cam, but improv is just basically absent.
