- A quick little video that is based on MagatsuVale's Sol's Ending vs Ragna's Ending video. I know that the main comparison with Sol and Ragna is that they are both red clad main characters in two fighting games made by the same company so this video doesn't really have that going for it, really the only comparison here is that they are both Anthro mascots but that's all really, but I though it would be a fun (yet depressing) video to do. I was going back and forth on whether or not I would of chose Kirby (Because dream motif) or Sonic but I ultimately chose Sonic. This is a but crudly edited but I hope you all enjoy.

Klonoa is a being steeped in existential dread. Every notion of a colorful cast following him around, every flower-lined whimsical vista, every joyous thing that Sonic can come back to adventure after adventure, Klonoa is doomed to have ripped away from him at the end of his journey, as if none of it had ever existed at all. Sonic is an adventurer, searching for new sources of excitement he never runs out of. Klonoa is a vagrant, condemned to wander myriad realities that will never remain a world to call his own.

Sonic is a carefree Spirit. Who can say why he's always so forward to going on adventures. He was said to be born on Christmas Island, although we've never seen this apparent home Island of his, not even any kind of parental figure. Perhaps instead, the blue blur is more likely to consider South Island his home. As it is where his first adventure started. Its most recognized location is called Green Hill Zone. One day, the young and slightly immature Hedgehog comes across something atypical. Robots, but not just any bots, They contain the local animals within them to power them, Flickys, Cuckys, Pockys, and everything in between. Sonic isn't going to stand idle and let his friends become batteries. He's gonna find the jerk behind this and make them stop. However, the culprit is someone known as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. The Robotnik bloodline has in universe been under controversy, to say the least, in the past. But now just so happened to be the fateful meeting that changed the whole world, forever. Which started, with Sonic and Robotnik, fighting over the island's 6 chaos Emeralds. Sonic may not know why The doctor is after them, but since he wants them, he's gonna make sure he can't use them. As Robotnik was defeated, Sonic saw first hand, the Emeralds' power. Where all the destruction and robotization left behind by Robotnik was removed, returning Green Hill and likley the rest of the Island, back to its original state. Thus began A seemingly never-ending cycle between these two.
The First Conflict, Little Planet's Capture, The Discovery of the 7th emerald, Angle Island's deep seated mysteries, Chaos's Anger, The Ark of Bloody past, A certain Rabbit's heroism, A Doppelganger's Revenge, The Black Arm invasion, the Discovery and defeat of the Gizoid, The Solaris Reset, The avoided Dimensional merge, A Brawl for the jeweled scepter, Learning of the Babylonians, The actions of A certain White time traveler, against the Dr's descendent, A certain Arabian Night story, The Planet's Dark and Light Gaias, The World of King Arthur, An interstellar Amusement park, A Timeline altering Merge of the present and the past, The lost hex, A Full World War Retake, plenty of other smaller adventures, and as of now, Defeating The End from The power left behind at the Starfall Islands.
All of these World Saving achievements, accomplished by a 4 foot tall 16 year old Hedgehog. Many of his successes, came from his connection to Chaos, with his positive attitude, always looking forward to a new day, always doing what he thinks is right, and comforting those who need it. Sonic the Hedgehog grew into a great hero, but not alone, He is very much motivated by his friends. From a pink Hedgehog who was originally madly in love with him, he managed to teach her to believe in her own abilities and what she's good at, to this day, Amy is a peppy girl who always wants to help others around her because of her Hero and now best friend. What about a certain guilable Echidna? Being the last of his kind, he couldn't decifer the good guys from the bad at first. But simply put, after being Betrayed, he was willing to put aside his antagonism and help Sonic. Whilst Knuckles certainly took a while to really be trusting towards anyone, He sees sonic as an equal to this point, even if he won't admit it himself. Knuckles has seen the errors of his ways, and will always be willing to help his, blue cocky best Friendly rival. And of course, we can't forget Sonic's own personal Best friend. Miles Prower, aka, Tails. Meeting as early as West Side Island's takeover, Tails was a troubled kid, no real parents, friends or really anything, due to his birth defect. Sonic was the light Miles needed. Sonic and Tails are practically brothers at this point. And yes, Sonic indeed wants to be as protective as he can of his two tailed bestie, but he also knows how important it is for tails to succeed with his own accomplishments. To this day, both will look back at Tails's first solo victory against Eggman. Tails is still kind of shy, but that's practically the only thing remaining from his old self, Sonic's love turned tails into a brave, smart, dependable, Fox who is just as much of a Hero himself. That's not even counting every other friend Sonic's made, but this is already really long, let's talk about the other guy here.
Klonoa is, a strange boy. Seemingly growing up with a grandpa, and round spirit thing, we see Klonoa leave his home with said spirit, being known as Hewpow. The Reason? Klonoa had a nightmare, where the whole place he lived in went dark, after waking up, a strange meteor hit some kind of tall cliff. Not wanting to sit idly by, Klonoa and Hewpow set off to see what's going on. But, the only thing protecting them, is the Wind Ring, wielded by Klonoa and powered by Hewpow, they can grab enemies objects, and in general, have a slight manipulation over wind itself, but a direct attack would be very draining for both. Moving on, Klonoa and Hewpow Discover a disturbing individual, Going by the Name of Ghadius, him and his assistant Joka, are after something known as the moon pendant. After a quick battle against a monster, Klonoa returns to his grandfather to hide the pendant, as they found it, whilst just after Joka had to retreat. After many trials, tribulations, and heartache. Klonoa and Hewpow manage to defeat the high ranking bosses summoned by Ghadius. But, at the cost of a certain life, grandpa's. Despite his death, Joka still obtained the moon pendant and fled to prove his worth to Ghadius. After letting out his tears, Klonoa was determined to make Ghadius and Joka pay. A certain friend that they made on their journey was able to fly them towards the moon kingdoom. After many more obstacles being overcome, and certain twists are revealed by Hewpow, the duo set off and agree to defeat Ghadius together. At the point the do end up defeating him, he reveals that the plan he concocted, the demon of Nahotomb would cover all of Phantomisle in nightmares. With the aid of the people they helped on their adventure. Klonoa and Hewpow defeat the demon and saved the world. Things seemed to be getting back to normal, but Hewpow makes a revelation. Klonoa is not supposed to live in Phantomisle. Despite what he thinks he remembers. Klonoa can't accept this and desperately tries to temp fate and stay in Phantomisle. But destiny had other plans for him. There was a certain powerful being rescued from the demon, her song would be able to restore Phantomisle to its original state. Left in tears Klonoa tries to desperately stay in the place he thought he knew, even Hewpow shows regret and attempts to keep Klonoa as well. It's simply wasn't meant to be. Klonoa has exited this world and must wait to be transferred to the next. Which is what we see in Klonoa 2: lunatae's viel. Whilst Klonoa doesn't make reference to anything that happened to him from the previous game, the fact that he knows how his wind ring works and the ending, shows us that he definitely remembers at least a few things. And is probably not showing it for reasons of his own. His two new partners for this game, Lola and popka. They end up learning about him, how he's willing to help them despite not being from their world. But simply put, the ending. It's revealed that sorrow was purposely forgotten by the people of Lunatea. Similar to how Phantomisle choose to forget nightmares. And, Klonoa decided to help the one who actually summoned him, the king of sorrow. But something causes him to attack Klonoa instead. Were the king is greatly wonded. Klonoa ends up granting his dying wish, letting Lunatea remember sorrow. At this point, popka makes reference to how Klonoa looks suspiciously similar to not only the king but also the goddess Claire. Perhaps Lunatea spreads some truth as to what Klonoa is, who can say. But simply put, with Lunatea saved, Klonoa must say goodbye once again. But because he expects it this time, Klonoa can give his partners a hug, shed a tear and accept his role as a dream travler. And, that's currently it, until Namco can find a way to cannonize the gba games, that's where Klonoa's story ends right now.
Well. Looking back, one is A Hero, born as free as the wind and became one by choice. Letting the world be his playground stopping injustice because he knows it's the right thing to do for himself. The other, was a simple kid at first, he was pulled into a strange dream and it forced him to grow up fast. From living a lie, saving that world he thought was his own, forced to leave, and Saving a new world, one that would help soften the burden of being a dream travler. To him, love, friendship and adventuring, are temporary. Once one is done he must be ready for the next. The other can go to his friends, run around with no real rules, and do his own thing. Two sides, one ridiculously long comment, same title for both: Hero.

I like to think that Sonic would see Klonoa, actually having a breakdown, and ask of whats wrong. At first he would be defensive. But Sonic would reassure that it's ok to talk to someone who would hear him out and that it's not ok to keep them bottled up. Klonoa would then explain his tale, and even break down more, and Sonic who feels bad for the cabbit, would bring him into a hug. Thats how I would see a moment like that go down.

Yea, it is pretty easy to demonize Huepow but in his defense, it was for a good cause… but I am sure Klonoa would of willingly helped Klonoa, even without the dream manipulation. Wouldn’t really call it brainwashing though.

I would like to dream if there was a Sonic crossover game that have Nights to summon Klonia into Sonic's world because of some world colliding event that may happen because of distorted realities and dimensions.
Behind Klonoa's smile, he's hurting. He's never gotten over his trauma in Phantomile, he simply locked it away in his subconscious, hoping those memories would be lost forever.
But this still doesn't explain how Huepow is in Empire of Dreams, and Klonoa just acts like he never left his side.
Is there an actual Klonoa timeline that I'm not seeing? Or does Empire of Dreams just take place in an alternate timeline where Klonoa was never pulled out of Phantomile?
That always was a point of debate to the point that it is believed that the GBA games are in a separate universe but it was never explained, stated or confirmed
Klonoa is a sort of antivirus, and because Huepow was the first wind bullet, I think there is a duplicated version of Huepow alongside Klonoa, especially because of Huepow's innate magical abilities. (Edit: to say it without spoiling since Phantasy Reverie is out now and new players might see this)

Moonlight Museum takes place before Door To Phantomile. Klonoa met Huepow there, but ended up forgetting the dream.
Door To Phantomile, Klonoa and Huepow meet formally, but Klonoa didn't remember him. Klonoa remembers this dream, but the trauma makes the memory painful. His mind forces it into his subconscious.
A few years later, Lunatea's Veil. The reason why the King Of Sorrow reaches out to Klonoa is because he's the only one who will listen, King may or may not be the physical manifestation of Klonoa's repressed memories.
Some unknown time later, Empire of Dreams. Huepow is in the dream because of Klonoa overcoming his trauma in the last game (I suppose)
Dream Champ Tournament, Popka and Lolo remember Klonoa, making this game part of the same continuity. Not sure if this takes place in the real world or not.
Klonoa Beach Volleyball? I guess this takes place in the same continuity. As far as I know, this is where the original universe ends.
Klonoa Heroes, the start of the new continuity. Popka and Lolo know Klonoa, but it's likely that they met under different circumstances. Klonoa meets Guntz for the first time in this new continuity. Definitely takes place in the real world.
That's pretty much what I believe the timeline is.

@@F1areon Yep, Klonoa was hit hard by his trauma coming back. But I'm sure that he was able to overcome his "sorrow" thanks to Lolo and Popka being by his side at the time.
Klonoa stopped repressing his trauma and faced it head on, his battle with Sorrow finally giving him closure. This allows Huepow to be in his dreams again.

Any comic adaptation of Sonic can be pretty bizarre. XD Trust me, I followed the Archie Sonic comics back when it was running. Both Fleetway and Archie Sonic comics can have very dark themes.

Yea, but I am talking about the video game continuity. But trust me, I know. I grew up with the Archie comics and researched a lot on the Fleetway comics over a decade ago… the Archie Sonic comics are a lot more bizarre then how I remembered

I mean yeah klonoa has it really hard but really you just showed Sonics best moments not long after this party they all get kidnapped by some time monster not only that but sonic lost many friends on the was like metal sonic (sonic ova 1999) or shadow (in sa2 2001 he came back tho) or chip (sonic unleashed 2008) or sage (sonic frontiers 2022)
Sure but after Generations and Lost World, it pretty much was just another adventure. As for his lost friends, yea, Chip seems to be an exception because with Sage, Sonic seems to not be distraught about her supposedly sacrificing herself (that we all know she is fine now but at that moment, either way, Sonic is still his usually self). And yes, Shadow seems to be in a similar category to Chip in terms of loss but Sonic regardless of the loss, he still has his close friends like Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and yes, even Shadow when he returned.

Klonoa is the main character of his series of the same name. Very overlooked game and I highly recommend checking out the remakes that just came out.
