THE GHOSTFACE ANIMATRONIC ►
We’re HUGE fans of the Scream movies. Ghostface is such an iconic character and we really wanted him to be in our home haunt. He’s known for great jump scares, so for this project we used The Hauntress from Spirit Halloween as our base. She’s an amazing Halloween animatronic that is designed to hide behind a wall and “jump” out at unsuspecting trick-or-treaters.
Scream 6 recently came out and the Ghost Face mask featured in the marketing has a really cool aged look with cracks and dirt on it. To do our Scream 6 mask repaint, we bought a Funworld Scream mask, sculpted on some cracks and damage with Apoxy sculpt, gave it some texture, and then painted the rest with acrylic paints. Special shout-out to Cosplay Chris and Insane Lee Creating. They both have AMAZING Scream 6 mask makeover videos and their techniques helped a ton with this project.
We’re so happy with how our Spirit Halloween animatronic makeover turned out and we can’t wait to see the new Scream movie! If you want to learn how to make animatronic monsters, upgrade your Spirit Halloween/Home Depot/Lowes animatronics, or just watch some awesome Halloween DIY tutorials, please consider checking out some of our other Spooky DIY videos. And until next time, Stay Wicked!

Wow killed it literally
Great video!
Fabri-Fix glue by Beacon will help you avoid the sewing! It works fantastically for fabric and pretty much anything else you could think of too! Nailed it again guys!! Love the paint job on the mask!!
It’s really good but the mask has that piece of clothe hanging down I think you should cut it off
Where do you get the hood
My 8 year son is obsessed with you ! He has autism and he's obsessed with Halloween and everytime he hears me watching you he comes running to see what you two are up to !
Love all your work keep it up !
Love hearing that!!! Tell him we really appreciate that he watches our videos a and thanks. 😄😄
this made me so happy to read because I have autism, and im obsessed with halloween too. I give out 10's of thousands of pieces of candy every years, and have a dance party in my street during trick or treat!
That`s so sweet :).
@@gamingwithbober3905awww that is awesome!!!! I love halloween as well. I am a scare actor in Restless souls haunted house complex. I watch this for diy ideas. Have u never thought of running a haunt
I'm also obsessed with halloween And watching one of these guys to make a video It's so exciting I also have autism but it doesn't really matter
That looks awesome! Dollar tree has some foam curlers in the hair section that might work well for fingers in the future if need be.
Oh wow nice! Good idea
My mom works at the Dollar Tree and she’s a manager in Philadelphia
Quick tip: If you want a really easy and effective metal look, especially for knives/swords, use aluminum duct tape! It works really well to sell the effect of a metal object. Apply it tight across the surface, making sure to work out any wrinkles you may get, and then take some scotch bright to it, or steel wool to get it extra shiny. From there, you can weather it just about any way you want in order to make it look old/used. This technique is used very often in films and what not. Adam Savage is filled with knowledge like this for prop making!

I'm actually glad you guys are making your own ghost face from the hauntress. Cause I think, (I'm not 100% sure) the ghost face animatronic was a bit shorter and way more expensive. So you guys are definitely going with the cooler/ possibly cheaper route!
Yeah totally!
Woeosos
The Spirit Ghostface wasn't too good, so to see this correctly built and screen accurate Scream prop is refreshing. For the next makeover, could I suggest turning Gerry into a resin zombie from Back 4 Blood?
That’s a cool idea! Will look into it
Hi
@@WickedMakers personally, I’d wonder if you’d like to transform some regular zombie props into the zombies from call of duty zombies. Depends on which one you’d want, but if you want to do the WW2 zombies there could be a German, American, and Japanese soldier zombie like in world at war. You could do the yellow glowing eyes and everything! Maybe even do the decayed war torn uniforms with bullet holes, ripped sleeves, and cracked boots that they wear too
@@staticaleel50681:05
Huh I don’t know what I think about it but you do you boo
This looks so cool!!!!!! Wicked!!!! Love This so much!!! He’s definitely better than the one spirit already sells!!!!!! Hands down!! Amazing job on him!! Y’all just get better and better everyday! Love it!!
😄😄😄 thanks a ton. Glad you liked it!
Wicked Makers please respond to this comment. How do you do it so good? Last time I made an animatronic It looked like a deformed Easter Bunny. What is the secret to making this so good?!
@@christinewilliam37 years and years practice, I suspect... 🤷♂️
@@christinewilliam37 talent
D Menace, now that's just mean. Nearly everyone can practice and improve purely technical skills. Creativity is less learn-able but no one says your crafting has to be original.
Thank you so much for the shoutout! Awesome video 😇😇
absolutely man! sorry I missed your comment here :D
The hood definitely makes this prop along with the realistic hands. Spirits model failed majorly in that department. Great job again, guys!
Ps. - You should definitely lookup the older Spirit animatronic Ghostface from 2011!! (I have a video on my channel if you’d like to see too)
Looking forward to your next animatronic overhaul!
Thanks!! Yeah glad we got it looking so good
You mentioned that you had to purchase a separate hood. Do you have a link for that product? Never mind. I see it now. Great work as always and thanks for sharing!
@@603VILwhere can I purchase the hood?
Amazing job!!
A small tip from a ghostface cosplayer is don't forget the black lines on your buck knife.
It's a major important detail in the movies.
KEEP IT COMING YOU TWO! We love these makeovers in addition to original projects, but I know how hard that can be, so please know we just love seeing you all do your thing no matter if they are makeovers or completely original ideas. The makeovers will hone your skills and may lead to inspiration!
Thank you!!! 😄
I LOVE that his arms jiggle when he pops out from behind the corner, it just adds so much scare factor. Y'all did a beautiful job (as always) on this. Love your vids.
Ngl that foam knife looks SUPER similar to my actual buck 120. would def fool me from a few feet away! great job w it!
Just a tip on terminology: There is a HUGE difference between "drying" and "curing". Drying occurs through the process of EVAPORATION. Curing occurs through the process of CROSS-LINKING.
Therefore, an acrylic paint "dries" by the water content evaporating from the paint. Whereas, EPOXY, (or epoxy putty, like "Apoxy-Sculpt"), "cures" through the chemical cross-linking of the mixing of parts "a" and part "b". It should also be noted that when something "dries", it reduces in mass, (because the liquid portion has evaporated). And, when something "cures" there is usually, virtually no shrinkage. When there is any shrinkage in a material that cures, it tends to be from re-alignment of its' crystaline, molecular structure.
So, hopefully, that is enough, "Mr. Science" for you, today. 😊
This is great. Thanks!
Love it! I can't believe how much the spray glitter elevated the costume, I'll have to keep that in mind if I do ghostface for halloween again.
Yeah it’s wild. Really helps.
I’d suggest the scream 25th anniversary GhostFace costume. When in stock, it’s pretty good.
@@IllBushidoits not a really good screen accurate costume
@@EmmaRobertsStan for the price it is going. Certainly far better than the fun world standard costume.
U GUYS DID SUCH A GREAT JOB! I also created a ghostface animatronic a few months ago but I love the idea of recreating the new mask! Thanks for the inspiration! I’ll totally do that now! 🤟
*Really* glad you guys are making videos outside of the normal spooky season. Since Punished Props doesn't really seem to make regular videos anymore, its super nice to see you guys stepping up.
Right on thanks! Glad to hear.
Noodle fingers is the scariest villain I’ve ever heard of
The amount of talent and dedication they have is incredible. Great Job!
Your neighbors are so lucky to see your projects on display during Halloween. I envy 😭
This is AWESOME!!! The hood makes such a massive difference. Great job yet again!
I adore your guys' videos so much, you can always tell there's a ton of love put into them each and every time. The friendly charm you guys give off, and how you always reference your inspirations and even list them in each video is such an amazing thing to see! It's so refreshing and inspiring to watch such loving, creative people work on something they have a mutual care for.
Thank you!!! Glad you’re enjoying.
I read and saw your comment and saw Ren, and thought perhaps you might want to change it to Stimpy, because Ren was never as equally nice and kind as you! Unless you've fixed and are wearing the happy helmet? 😳🤔
I'm one of those people who like being creative but don't have the patience 😐
Same, I'll be mid-way through a drawing, hate how it looks, and start a new one that doesn't even look as good as the one before and let the regret kick in…
Same
I think one of the best parts of watching y'all's projects is just learning all the different techniques you use to achieve certain desired results! This one is a good one!
You guys should definitely set him up behind a tree or something for Halloween this year.
Yes!!!!
I love all your stuff I got a video from you guys reccomended to me a few months ago and ever since I watch every new video when I see it!
Awesome! Thanks very much
I love it! Spirit needs to hire you two to design decorations.
Hahah thank you!
That’s actually so cool!! Good job to the both of you!
Thank you!!
Just so you guys know, super glue does work on fabric. However, it sets up very hard and can often cause the fabric to crack. For this reason, fabric glue is the better option even though it takes a long time to dry because after it's dried it still malleable.
Great job as always but if you read this i have two tips. when doing metal stuff always paint the object in a darker color before adding the metal paint, for mirror chrome or shiny metal always paint the object black first. let that dry and then paint the metal paint. For the crackling medium after the medium is dried the third layer (Paint that will crack) have to be applied with ONE stroke not many strokes, if done with one big stroke the cracks will be even better and bigger. but if the small cracks is what you want then you can do what you did. i just wanted to leave this here if its helpfull for someone.
Will definitely try this!!
the glitter spray is a great way to mimic the lurex fabric in the films. if you really want screen accuracy, i recommend redoing the tassles on the sleeves as the funworld costume is completely different. do note that the shape of the tassles is movie dependent
When I saw the robe I was hoping that you would put glitter on it. And you did. You guys never disappoint in your projects!!!
great job guys! I did a scream mask on my channel this week also, yall killed it with the whole figure!
Thank you!!!
"PRESENT YOUR PASTA, PEASANTS!!!"
-Noodle Fingers, probably
Hahah
If you're painting anything that's plastic use Mr. Super Clear, it'll give whatever you spray more of a paper texture which makes painting hella easier.
Amazing job as always! I’m definitely stealing that technique on making hands haha 🤘
It worked great! Thanks
That's so cute!! For the past 2 years I've dressed up as ghostface and played as a static prop. I stand facing my parents who hand out candy and when people see me I jump and get them, I've scared so many kids and plenty more adults!
Happy Almost Easter! "What's your favourite type of Easter Egg?" 😱💀🥚🗡
Hahah yes!! Happy easter
That's actually very impressive! As a Scream fan and collector, I would buy one, Well done!
Love You guys! You always have the best ideas! Stay wicked! 🤘🏼
🤘🏼😄😄😄😄
you guys should create a custom Jason Voorhees animatranic or a Michael Myres one, those would be cool!
Even tough Spirit alredy did a ghostface like this. I'm glad you still did your own. It turned out even better. Also I love the glitter detail. Movie and costume ghost face always were different with the fabric and the cut of the arm fabric. So it was nice to see you work in the glitter without buying yards of glitter fabric. Also would make modifying the store bought ghost face even easier for toughs that have him. This has to be my favorite tutorial of modifying hands youve done (not including Thing. Like if I did your Krampus tutorial. I'm just gonna put the werewolf hands on with this method.
Yeah def! The hands worked great
The final result is great. Nice secondary movement in the knife hand too.
Thanks!
You guys keep getting better with each video! I love how this one turned out!
Thank you!
I absolutely love this! Thank you guys so much for the inspiration!
Yes. Another animatronic from you.
🤘🏼😄
This looks awesome, the aged up mask makes it ever cooler, you guys should try making a Wendigo next.
you guys are awesome!
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼😄
This would be a cool plot twist for Scream 7; one of the killers being an animatronic.
You are amazing
🤘🏼😄
Have you guys ever considered adding something to your arsenal? If you take chalk pastels and shave them down with a knife or blend them, they become wonderful fake dirt and other detritus. Just a recommendation! Beautiful results as always!
Havent even seen the thumbnail and I already know Its gonna be a banger, and also theres already a ghostface one that jumps like the hauntress, although I bet this gonna be better
Edit: You know lol
Haha yes!!
Such a good job, you two! Real nightmare teamwork!
Ghostface is my favorite horror movie slasher.
The hair when she was making the first crack in goastfaces face 😭 love your work tho!! Looks amazing! 😃
Nice. I like farmer Jay.
Yeeeeehaww
YES!!! I've been waiting for this since I discovered this channel!! It turned out great! 😱
how do you do this💀
If I saw the first animatronic, I’d think “cool a scary decoration.” BUT if I saw your upgraded version, I would think it’s a real person in a scream costume and probably jump out me boots 😱 wonderful details on the mask!
Can you please do a m3gan doll please I’m a big fan
I love when you make awesome props even more awesome!
Didn’t spirit already do this?
Yes but they did it better.
@@Fionn-h8c I can agree with you on that
Awesome customization!!! That altered hand looks like it's actually gripping the knife! 😍🤩
This is incredible! I absolutely love ya'lls animatronic overhauls, and can't wait to see the next!
I remember the first time I watched one of your videos (the drinking skeleton) and instantly fell in love. Y'all are masters of your craft, and I'm excited to see you two have planned next! Stay cool, stay wicked
Great Job! Just one tip... I find that silver rub-n-buff has a better metallic look than the paint. Just a suggestion :).
Once again you guys killed it!
🔪🔪🔪 So good
Haha thank youuuu
This might be my favorite Makeover from you guys! Scream is my absolute favorite horror movie (in fact it’s just my favorite movie in general) so seeing such a high quality prop being made by you guys is awesome!
Wow that hand was a huge success! Excited to see you use that technique in your future builds.
Ah yes, my favorite horror character, Alfonso Noodlefingers. The internet loves writing creepy pasta about him.
I think Alfonso needs to be canon now
if you wanna get that cool cracked paint texture, base coat the piece in a slightly darker shade of color you want the final piece to be. In this case grey. Spray paint it on and clear coat, then brush a thin layer of elmers glue where you want the cracks to appear, the heavier the layer the more cracks you'll get. After it mostly dries, airbrush on a layer of acrylic paint over the entire piece, you'll start seeing the cracks foam as the paint dries. Clear coat in matte or satin and you're done!
Nice yes!
Hi! I have another idea for y'all! I know you've already made a Wednesday animatronic, but can y'all try to take the new 2023 Menacing Molly and turn her into Wednesday? Thanks! Keep up the great work, and stay wicked! Bye!
Love you guys so much! My mom and I love watching your videos and they really give us ideas for halloween! Thanks so much!
this was done beautifully love seeing people making things that dont get enough attention
Thank you!!
Love it! Great makeover. The Hauntress was a perfect choice to make into Ghostface!
❤❤❤❤ Love It. Yall are So Talented. Absolutely Wicked Awesome. Thanks for Showing How You Created This. Love Your Creativity. Keep Up The Great Work. 😀😃😘🤠🧡💛💚💙💜
Love it! Great job!!!
🤘🏼😄😄
The mask is so accurate. This would be such a cool decoration for Halloween.
I would definitely buy that animatronic, like im a HUGE fan of all the scream movies, you guys did incredible work !! I love your videos but this one will be one of my favourites.
NEW FAVORITE CHANNEL. I LOVE THIS, SO HAPPY YOU MAKE THIS STUFF YEAR ROUND! ALSO THE MASK IS INCREDIBLEE
Amazing!
For the watercolour pencils, you do not need to dip it. It works well on own as a pencil. The reason we use a watercolour pencils and not a coloured pencil is because there are no oils in watercolour pencils.
I'm so excited for tomorrow! I know your video is going to be great! Is it a suggestion or your just making your own idea?
Scratch up the plastic with fine grit sand paper. The texture will help with the adheasion. The same method goes with glue. Baking powder is a super glue acelerator. and adds volume. Also is sand able.
Check out polly morph. Its a plasitic that melts at boiling point and is infinitly moldable.
Sorry for the misspellings. I'm dumb and my spell check is broken.
This is so cool and wonderful and so creative
Thank you!!
Man I LOVE your guys content so much!
You guys really should make an floating crocodile or alligator for in like a pond or something that whould be so cool
For posable fingers in gloves, I use aluminum foil. Crinkle foil up into cat turds the length of a finger then stuff it into the glove. Don't be a Joan Crawford and say yes to wire hangers when buying clothes. You could also use Mommy dearests foam Magic Hair Curlers that flex bend and twist. 10 for under $5
"And make him look... *beautiful*"
The way she said that was the cutest thing ever I can't ❤❤❤
Man you guys are the absolute best. As an artist I always learn new things. Keep it up! I watch every one of your videos!
This is great! Do you think that you could turn Spirit Halloween's Bog Zombie into Jason Vorhees?
Literally looks amazing. Way better than the one they had a few years ago!! Bravo!! Great job!!
I’m glad you guys could catch up with the new movies
From this 0:07 to this 18:08 ! Just amazing!
Another great conversion. I think one of the best parts of your videos is the t-shirts you wear. Some of them are really cool. Thanks for another great video
As a person who leaned against a counter with a tube of super glue in his pocket, yes it sticks to fabric. And the fabric next to it. And the skin under that fabric. And the scratch paper also in that pocket. I barely got the tube itself out before it set against the fabric. It was not a fun day in the office.
The final product is amazing…I WANT IT 😍😂🥰
Thank you!!
I say you paid attention to detail I ain’t even gonna lie this animatronic is amazing it’s a second favorite to the clicker
Also my brother finally helped me get through some of the last of us game lol
I love this! This could totally be a tv show
This was such an amazing transformation! You guys did a phenomenal job! I’m so glad I found your channel ages ago as you two are such a delight to watch. 😊
