We had a similar experience recently where my nieces and nephew wasn’t allowed to visit with my kids. It was like requesting permission to visit at a prison. That silly policy will certainly lead to business failure. We will never stay there again and neither will we recommend it to anyone else.
Mate I have been there and its simply a transit hotel and is perfect for that purpose. Plenty of coastal hotels if you want something more.
