    I'd love to talk to you guys about an electric racing series I look to develop, basically taking the fight to the fastest LeMans cars, over 24 hours. That takes 30+ minute stints and really quick pitstops. Quicker than refueling regulations allow, ideally of course. Because, why not?

    You should also reduce the drag coefficient put a carbon fiber body (or fiber glass) on it you can use some sort of aptera body desing they have the lowest drag coefficients on a car, also instead of using steel for the chasis you could use reinforced aluminum.. @@4literv6 yes very true, electric did begin ahead of gas. Battery design over the last century lacked in performance and DC motors burned brushes up and slowed as battery voltage dropped, that held back the ev until the 2007 advances on 3 phase VFD and lithium batteries which Finally made the ev practical.

    • @Nphen
      @Nphen 3 роки тому +1

      @@4literv6 Those old EV's with 100 miles is good range but not competitive with gas at the time. EV could have/should have been developed further. Ni-Cad battery tech wasn't there until the 1990's with GM's eco-style EV which they promptly killed. Someone could've designed a 100 mile range Roadster in 1999, but it would've cost $250,000. Beyond CO2? Smog is really an issue even with modern exhaust systems. Keep up the EV revolution.

    The difference in the landing gear , fixed gear of a light aircraft. A round tube vs a tear drop cross section. Is a ratio that approximates100 for the round tube and 5 for the efficient airfoil shape. Because air resistance goes up by the cube,,, it is not added,, it is not doubled or up by the square,, the resistance rises by the cube. Your non aerodynamic open tube frame at 182 mph would rise to 230 or 240 with no power change. And do not do the 'make the front nice and pointy' Most of the drag comes from the rear end of the shape. Hint,, the tear drop shape achieves its efficiency not with the front,,, but rather with the long taper of the back. I will not get into Reynolds Numbers or the tech stuff,, just remember the air resistance goes up by the cube. an open tube frame of any type on any vehicle almost cannot exceed 210 miles per hour,,, No matter how much horse power you throw at it. 400 hp won't get you there and 1400 won't get you there Perfect aerodynamics will.

      problem with this type of car is that at a speed of approx 200 mp/h it easily loses road contact and overturns at least twenty times.

    This is really awesome! I'm surprised you don't have really smooth body on it. And to do what you do with no help from Tesla!

      I was goieto ask why they hadn't fitted the aero shell as I am sure they would have gone faster with it on, but what you say is a good point, was it to save weight?

      We are working on a new body. We had some strength issues with the last fiberglass/carbon body.
