Limited time and enough mass in the cooling fluid/system to absorb the heat. Kinda like how some drag racing gasoline-powered cars have their engine block's cooling system filled with cement.
I'd love to talk to you guys about an electric racing series I look to develop, basically taking the fight to the fastest LeMans cars, over 24 hours. That takes 30+ minute stints and really quick pitstops. Quicker than refueling regulations allow, ideally of course. Because, why not? Hot swapping batteries, leaving little on the table aerodynamically nor in the drivetrain. Destroy Formula E a few times over.
A couple new e racing series about to debut next year. There's the etcr pure series, the projekt e rallying series, that off road series that several f1 driver's are sponsoring, the same people that created formula e are also debuting an electric hydroplane boat racing series in January. You've got the mach e 1400 and the e cobra jet 1400 for fomoco knocking down some doors to end the season.
For the fastest car, you should you lipo batteries. a 100kg lipo pack can deliver much more amps than lion for a few minutes. less capacity, less security, but stronger.
You should also reduce the drag coefficient put a carbon fiber body (or fiber glass) on it you can use some sort of aptera body desing they have the lowest drag coefficients on a car, also instead of using steel for the chasis you could use reinforced aluminum.. I think just with that you should well pass the 200 mph cap
The previous body had some issues with the vertical stabilizer at Bonneville so a new aluminum body is in the works now. We want to give it a more timeless look as well.

Electric vehicles we're first dating all the way back to the 1830s. When a professor from Virginia made his own conversion. So it's just more of the past come back around and revisiting us. Fun factoid the electric starter motor is what helped kill off bevs the first time around.

Battery design over the last century lacked in performance and DC motors burned brushes up and slowed as battery voltage dropped, that held back the ev until the 2007 advances on 3 phase VFD and lithium batteries which Finally made the ev practical.

In 2000 if someone told you they'd have a full size sedan go 100 mph and drive over 200 miles on basically AA batteries you would never believed that.

Beyond CO2? Smog is really an issue even with modern exhaust systems. Keep up the EV revolution.
And I thought backing into a space in the Caprice Classic wagon I had in college was a bear! What happened to the cowl from Bonneville? Did that get damaged or is it just too much to take it all apart with so many changes still happening to the vehicle?
The difference in the landing gear , fixed gear of a light aircraft. A round tube vs a tear drop cross section. Is a ratio that approximates100 for the round tube and 5 for the efficient airfoil shape. Because air resistance goes up by the cube,,, it is not added,, it is not doubled or up by the square,, the resistance rises by the cube. Your non aerodynamic open tube frame at 182 mph would rise to 230 or 240 with no power change. And do not do the 'make the front nice and pointy' Most of the drag comes from the rear end of the shape. Hint,, the tear drop shape achieves its efficiency not with the front,,, but rather with the long taper of the back. I will not get into Reynolds Numbers or the tech stuff,, just remember the air resistance goes up by the cube. an open tube frame of any type on any vehicle almost cannot exceed 210 miles per hour,,, No matter how much horse power you throw at it. 400 hp won't get you there and 1400 won't get you there Perfect aerodynamics will.
can the bolt ev gearing be changed out for higher top speed instead of 92mph of what is at the moment??? that would be cool if its possible to do. would like for it to go 140mph minimal.
Yes you can change the single speed reduction gears out, but it will effect acceleration by switching to a longer/taller gear to increase the top speed. So always a trade-off.

The title of this video is misleading. The French TGV train did 357.2 mph back in 2007 over a 140km long run. So this car has a way to go to get THE electric land speed record!

But if you could ask around with your eco-friendly friends who might be interested in a power paradigm that is sustainable and fungible with current infrastructure, that would be appreciated. Electric vehicles don't belong in racing, they're too slow, they reduce the challenge of racing, they eliminate racing as a spectator sport, and they're not all that sustainable. We need carbon neutral synfuels, for racing vehicles, as well as other vehicles that can't be electrified.

Semi trucks can't be electrified without seriously harming their performance, neither can pickup trucks, or aircraft. That will allow them to continue to save old vehicles from the scrap yard and convert them into all electric and also allow them to share with the world their experiences and expertise so that others can do the same. Basically, I don't know why you're hating because we are all trying to achieve the same thing and these guys are pioneers in the field that will help us get there.

Yes, and we're working on that. We'll have a set for the short course at El Mirage (and the dyno), and another set for Bonneville.

Follow aerodynamics of gas dragsters it may help, like some fiberglass shell.

problem with this type of car is that at a speed of approx 200 mp/h it easily loses road contact and overturns at least twenty times.
