Love this tip. I help my parents with their garden and they have several purple fountain grasses that I’ll hello trim for the first time. Thank you for the tips! Happy Gardening 🌻🌻🌻
@@GardenDiscovery you know honestly I wasn’t a fun (my mom is a big fan) but….. they are growing on me I added a purple fountain grass to my fall front door container and love it 🥰
@willspoint88 I do, because it seems the grass benefits to be cut back so the energy goes into root growth more than above ground during colder months. It's not necessary, but I do believe it helps the grass for next spring and summer. Great question.

@dianesgardeninspiration it's the rich color and movement of grasses that I adore.

I think it might be easier to clean up if you use two ropes and cut between them. So the mess is in a bundle too😊
Super great idea, Caitlin! I love any helpful ideas!
What time or season should I trim them.... live in California. Thx
Same thing I do, but I use a scissors to cut mine.
I used to use shearers but this is so much faster and neater
@@GardenDiscovery I would have used mine but, I forgot I had one 🙄
It looks satisfying !
I have not trimmed mine in over a year and they are huge. Do you have to cut them down that far?
You don't have to cut it back, but it helps new growth in the spring.
Good tips❤
Hope the tips were helpful 🙂
Do you prune every year?

@@GardenDiscovery thanks!
