Ruan Mei is definitely one of those where too great of a talent will turn against oneself one day character. She’s too much of genius to a point where she can’t comprehend things normal humans can, like love she said. I could see herself spiral into insanity one day if this continues. Right now I think she at least got some humanity left where she doesn’t test humans or other intelligent life forms but one day she will hit this wall between right and wrong, and she would definitely pursue path full of Taboo achieve her goals to find the true meaning of everything. Like she literally just created a copy of dead Emanator which could’ve destroyed the whole ship and killed everyone on it. From this quest you can kind of see how she doesn’t truely want to form any relationship with anyone, she doesn’t trust anyone because she’s knows nobody will understand her pursuit, so she draws a line with people so that nothing will hold her back for her goals.
