Bien lo describes en cuanto a que lo que inspira la canción es un sentimiento épico, como si se tratase de la narración de una batalla famosa ocurrida, algo así como tema musical propio para una cinta cinematográfica al respecto pero, más sin embargo, debo decir que la letra habla de la situación emocional de un personaje que se siente extraño en una tierra ya conocida, es decir, literalmente, que aunque bien podría referirse a alguien en el papel de emigrante en un lugar que ya conoce y le hace sentirse extraño en medio de personas o cosas extrañas ya conocidas, por malas que parezcan, más bien, como que experimenta algo nuevo en su vida emocional pero que, visto desde la perspectiva de que ya antes ha vivido algo similar en el pasado y le trae malos recuerdos, ahora inicia o retoma su vida de nuevo ante una experiencia algo parecida pero que no sabe si irá a tener éxito y valor y, además, hasta se pregunta a sí mismo si irá a tener fuerzas para soportar lo mismo si le pasa de nuevo; pero que, aun así, está decidido a hacerlo y a redescubrir, también, de qué temple está hecho. En pocas palabras, como que ha sufrido antes una decepción amorosa, o varias me imagino, y ahora entra a una nueva a pesar de lo que todo ello le inspire e implique. ¿Me explico?

On August 19, 2021, for the first time the sound of kobyz was heard on the stage of the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park.
The tandem of Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen has presented a new, truly unique song in English with enchanting oriental tunes.
The idea to add kobyz to the new song came to Dimash after he first heard the melody "Stranger". He decided that the folk instrument would fit perfectly into the song, giving it an exciting sound. The performer of the kobyz part is Olzhas Kurmanbek.
The music was created by Russian song-writer Igor Krutoy, and the lyrics were written by American poetess Sharon Vaughn. The main arrangement was made by Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan).
“It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”, - Krutoy said. (Source: Dimashnews)

justo la vi antes de editar el vídeo, es maravillosa y normal mi emoción en el vídeo incluso desconociendo la letra, pues el vídeo duró 2 horas y me lo bloquearon, lo puse visible el de Dimash sin difuminar... porque hay gente que lo tiene así por eso no entiendo nada... incluso los que pusieron la letra en español utilizan el vídeo entero en grande y a color , un gran saludo ^^ se vienen más estrenos por lo que os voy leyendo

A very enjoyable reaction. Dimash premiered his newest song "Stranger" on August 19, 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano and introduced Olzhas Qurmanbeck on the kobyz. It is an amazing performance, one of, if not the best to date, in my humble opinion. Igor Krutoy composed the music, American poetess Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics, and Dimitris Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan) did the arrangement.
Igor Krutoy is quoted as saying that “it was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way.”
When Dimash first listened to the melody of "Stranger" he felt that the addition of a kobyz to the musical arrangement would give the song a unique, yet very fitting sound. Thus, the kobyz made its debut at the New Wave Hall at the Sochi Olympic Park, and what a great choice indeed. It is a beautiful sounding instrument that seems to underscore the song’s deep meaning. This wasn’t the first time that Dimash has featured Olzhas Qurmanbeck playing the kobyz. You can also enjoy him in a few of Dimash’s other performances such as Qairan Elim (official music video) and Samaltau (2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival).
The Kobyz is a very old, traditional, and sacred instrument in Kazakhstan. The kobyz or kyl kobyz is the most ancient bowed instrument on earth, widespread among the Turks, Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. It became the basis for most of today’s bowed instruments around the world, including European instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. The Kyrgyz variant is called kyl-kayak. The instrument is carved from a single piece of wood (typically apricot) or juniper (arsha), maple, pine tree, or birch. The instrument consists of three parts: head (bas), middle (base is keude), and lower part (ayak) and usually measures 60-70 cm. It has two strings made from horsetail hair; one to provide melody and the other resonance. The bow is shaped like an archer’s bow, and its string is tied to both ends of the bent branch and affixed with strong threads of camel wool.
The New Wave Music competition started in 2002, and for nearly two decades now has been one of the most iconic music events in Russia and other parts of the world. It is an international contest for young performers of popular music. It was founded by Russian composer, performer, and music producer Igor Krutoy (seen here playing the piano) and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls. Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva eventually joined as one of the show’s organizers. The contest usually lasts for six days: 3 contest days, 2 special event days, and the final day when the contest's results are announced and a final concert is performed. The television audience of the New Wave music competition numbers more than 200 million people. In 2018, Dimash debuted as a guest performer, performing his now legendary rendition of “Sinful Passion”. This year (2021) Dimash took part as a guest performer, as well as a judge. In this year’s finale, 11 participants from 9 countries will compete for the grand prize.
