Swapna Banerjee Ji, this is highly intellectual query...thanks for asking and getting associated with us................well social work as a practice of positively impacting the several aspects of all individuals, group's and societies' life; is very complex aspect. It can be made more Indian in several ways, which we have been making / practicing, since pre-independence of India are; 1) Focus on research and development activities that genuinely impacts or addresses the key socio-economic and other important aspects of human life (& society as a whole) along with focusing on sustainable environment for living a healthy life. It basically means research and development in social sciences should be those of physical and medical sciences, which tangibly shows the results (which is very difficult for social sciences at instant effect) 2) Following integrated approach (Society-Industry / Private Sector-Government Sector and Academia-focusing more on contemporary local / regional issues for teaching-genuine practical research oriented process making it more of providing job / work satisfaction to social workers / individuals) with the usage of technology (Artificial Intelligence etc.) in human resources training and development followed by encouraging and recognizing social work practice as a esteemed (not pity) profession at the Block / Village level (basically behavioral change or changing mindsets of society)- again very difficult task requires willpower of all stakeholders. 3) We hereby propose a model of social work as [Practice => Recognize => Follow / Scale Up] Model for making the activities of social workers working at ground level.
