The guitar throughout this song is another voice and that is most apparent during the solo. It matches the anguish and heartbreak of Plant's singing. This is what elevated Led Zeppelin above the crowd.
*My favorite Led Zeppelin song, great video, listen to Stairway To Heaven from the same concert, you can really see that you enjoy and feel the music🎸👏🏼⚡*
Every song they do is amazing, then add in the several masterpieces they have too. This is one of my top 2 live performances, the other is live at Earls Court May 25,1975 In My Time Of Dying, the version that’s 12:24 long. There’s 2 versions from Earls Court, but that one is the best version. Jimmy plays slide on the guitar like crazy, Plant’s vocals are amazing, as are Bonham & JPJ. Thank you for your reaction, & much more Led Zeppelin PLEASE!
Not country. Country is an American variation of bluegrass…Appalachian music which, in turn, came with the early settlers when they emigrated from Britain. It’s their old folk songs which morphed over the centuries into bluegrass and country. Blues, as you know, is a variation of African music which the slaves brought with them when they were sold into slavery. Very different roots. I can’t speak to rap or jazz since I don’t know enough about them. Rock and roll certainly started as a blend of blues and rockabilly style out of Memphis. Blues was extraordinarily influential to rock. And yes R&B of course.
Most genres are a direct or indirect variation from early blues, you might think your favorite genre isn't. The fact led zepplin is still paying money for copying them proves it. Still think zeppelin did it better, if u wanna convince yourself otherwise go ahead. One could argue early country has heavier influences to be fair.
@@matchu.j I have no skin in this game. I really don’t care. But next you’ll be claiming that folk music is somehow related to blues. This seems to be very important to you. So you can have the last word.
@@helenespaulding7562 nope early folk music is unrelated to the blues, and has it's own influence on modern music (huge Dylan fan) honestly I don't know the roots of folk, your probably more educated on the subject, more than happy to admit ignorance. Zeppelin started out as mainly a blues/rock band, especially their first two albums. These guys grew up listening black American blues from the Delta and from Chicago.
