CEDAW stands for the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. It is often described as an international bill of rights for women. Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 1979, and entered into force on September 3, 1981,
CEDAW is a landmark international treaty that defines what constitutes discrimination against women and sets up an agenda for national action to end such discrimination.
Pakistan ratified it in 1996.
UNCRC stands for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is a human rights treaty that sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health, and cultural rights of children. The UNCRC was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989 and has been ratified by almost every country in the world, making it the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history.
Pakistan ratified it in 1990.
