@@9usuck0it's a really crappy proprietary blend with a good taste. Basically everything in it is useless besides the at most 60mg of caffeine. At the price per serving it ain't bad if you literally just want flavored caffeine tho.
I remember when Josh came to my house, cup of tea in hand... and just stood there tapping on the window asking if I knew about his channel. I did thankfully and i showed him his most recent video... and then he was gone.. I would be safe for another night.
I rememeber some youtuber mentioning the idea of making a youtube channel just for blatant shilling, really loved that idea. Not so much shilling but the idea of taking the pi$$ out of it and making it a comedy act where it's overexaggerated shilling..
And sponsors would still do it because any advertising is good advertising nowadays :D

back in the old days of youtube when sponsors were new it was common to hear creators say they only did sponsorships for brands they knew and products they already liked, so it's funny to hear you have to clarify these sponsorships are like that because it's so uncommon now

I want to like Gamer Supps since they even sponsored Charlie and he loves them too, but they've got so many shady tactics going that it's hard to support. Like their '.40 cents per serving!', while not telling you their serving sizes are half that of others like GFuel (serving per oz of liquid I should note), so you use double the amount of servings. On the topic of Serving Sizes, they also don't tell you how much caffeine is in each unless you go to their website and directly look into it as the packaging just shows 154,000mcg (Just 154mg) of 'Nootropic' without telling you how much of each is in there. It's got 100mg of caffeine per serving and their serving size is only for 8oz, half of most, meaning a shaker instead of being 150mg like GFuel, it's 300mg, and they don't tell you this. No where on their packaging lists the caffeine content, it just says it has caffeine. You have to go to their site to find the 100mg caffeine bit and you have to go into their FAQ, not their Ingredients tab, to find this. It's not super shady, but it's incredibly sus.
yea, all of this right here. I was aware of some of it, and that's why I was surprised Josh went for it. Hell, it doesnt even benefit people who sit around playing games or whatever. PirateSoftware made a good point about how he's not going to advertise energy drinks to a bunch of people who mostly sit lol. And people are generally irresponsible with energy drinks which brings on the big downsides of caffeine. Caffeine free stuff however? Cool! AND WHY IS EVERYONE DOING WAIFU CUPS ; _ ; I JUST WANT A NORMAL CUP TO HAVE IN PUBLIC
@@edattacks Well, no, it's not for just people sitting. He meant for people sitting and watching as you're not doing anything, which he's said in another video where he specifies watching a stream. An energy drink for gaming is actually beneficial if you're playing games that benefit from the increased physical and mental boost, I.E. a game like CoD, Starcraft, League, DOTA, and the likes since PvP is reactionary and caffeine increases that, allowing you to perform better, which in turn can give you a better experience in the game. That's not every game, but you do sit playing those games and for many, caffeine would be a noticeable performance boost.
Waifu cups are kind of their bread and butter though. It's very terminally online and teenage focused.
@edattacks It'd be great for more gamers to not mostly sit though. Henry Cavill is a gamer, after all. You can be healthy, fit, and spend 30 hours a week playing video games if you want to.
Caffeine isn't healthy to consume, especially on a regular basis. There's a reason it's classified as a drug.
If you need a kick to wake up every so often, especially for long periods of being alert (ie; driving) or because you slept terribly, sure, it's fine. But energy drinks are much worse than a cup of coffee due to all the other atrocious garbage in most them.
We can go back and forth all day about things you should be consuming to boost your health and mental acuity, but at the end of the day, products like gamersupps, gfuel, bawls or anything like it are simply bad for you. If you're dying to drink some, go for Steaz or Pussy. No that last one isn't a joke.
Gfuel got slapped by California for having lead traces in their fruit blend. I really don't like these American supplement brands because they don't need to be FDA approved, meaning they can if they want not list exact amounts of ingredients on their products.
On the bright side, the vitamin amounts in gamersupps are very reasonable and not just like 200% vitamin B and C daily intake. If you ignore the caffeine you'd have to have like 20 servings of gamersupps before it started getting unhealthy.

Can confirm, Josh just kept asking me what I thought of his channel for several months, at first I'd just ignore him but he wouldn't stop, one day I tried running away and he chased after me, he ended up catching me and forced me to watch his videos nonstop for two weeks

Honestly doing sponsors is not a bad thing if the product is fine, if it's predatory, that is a problem.
Advertising a product that pays the creator a good , fair amount to introduce people to a product that will actually give value and make the viewers life better or more enjoyable, there is nothing wrong with that.

That reminds me of a streamer who likes to tease his Star Citizen fanboying friend (still in denial, but getting better) that someone else will get the sponsorship before him, for the same reasons.

I used to play so much Morrowind back in the day, man that was a good time. I see that Josh is using an active enchantment to avoid taking fall damage during his jump spell. I have turned off and even stopped watching channels where the person shills products that I know they don't personally use, nor would they ever willingly tell other people to use.
I get that people want to make money on UA-cam, and I get that some channels are successful with shilling products, but for me it's a definite turn-off.
If Josh gets sponsored by an MMO company, and he has legitimately great things to say about the MMO and he actually plays it regularly, that's alright.
I'm just imagining the waifu cup to be shaped like a mug and wearing a vest...

If Josh does get invited to partake in the Cavill 40k I hope it's for him to be the human version of the Space Marine Henry Cavill. Like skinny Captain America.
I think sponsorships can innovate. For example: you could tell a story about you and this product/brand where:
1. in one stream/video you sneak it in as product placement but say nothing
2. in the next you casually mention it without elaborating
3. in the third you do a proper sponsor spot
4. next video you tell a story of what you did before with this product
5. next video you mention how good it would be if i (the viewer) had this product
... and continue the narrative over time, integrating it into your persona and story over time rather than an awkward insert of an ad.
This way you can turn a sponsoship, something that people usually skip over or dislike, into an entertaining moment where people are looking forwad to watching the next one.
Naturally this could come at some nice €€€ gains.
