Very informative. Questions: does growing papayas in pots keep the plant from growing tall and how long will these plants produce good-tasting papayas before having to plant another plant. Much thanks?
I tried to grow papaya from seed 2 times. Didnt work. It was probably because i used soil for citrus, cactus and palm trees. Next time i buy papaya ill try again and use potting mix. And does papaya need grafting?
Hi great video. Subscribed. I have some questions. 1. How and when do you identify if it’s male or female? 2. Do you grow only female? 3. How many years does the tree produce good fruits? Do you replace the tree every year? 4. How tall is your tree in centimetres? 5. What kind of climate do you have? Thanks!
I try to answer your question as below 1- It a bit hard to identify male or female seed. But I have research and fond that to identify male or female seeds we need to soak the seed and when the seeds sinks down it is the female seeds, while the floating seeds is the male seeds. 2- Honestly, I not sure the seeds I grow male or female. 3- It take almost a year to produce fruits. If you take care well you can harvest serval year. 4- My papaya about 2 meter tall. 5- Here I have only 2 season ( Dry and wet season) I hope my answer meet your question.
Thank you for the great video. Amazing! Seems you don't have birds, lucky you! I wanted to add something about male and female papaya trees. I heard the seeds from an aphrodite papaya fruit (the ones giving long fruits like in the video) are always female either aphrodite again. Only female trees have seeds giving a part of female and male seeds/trees. I hope it helps and I hope this is true. From my experience I never got a male papaya tree from aphrodite fruit seeds. Cheers!
@@v87garden I saw videos they sometimes bend the tree so it does not grow tall. You have any good suggestion? I like to eat papayas but it is very frustrating as most if not all the time when I buy home a papaya, the uality of the fruit is not good and not sweet. Recently I bought a fruit and it was sweet. I have germinated the seeds and about 6 tiny shoots already emerged. I want to plant it correctly so that I can enjoy the sweet papaya. The shoots are about one week old only.
@@v87garden 😂 it only gets that cold on and off for like 2 months. We can grow lots of fruit trees here, and I can grow everything here for most of the year....but this one, I may need a green house that stays hot all year around.
@@v87garden I did some research. It seems like 65-85ºf is this best temp to grow this tree. Anything below 59ºf and a above 90ºf is not healthy for the tree. I hope that helps anyone else that needed that info.
Papayas are quite sensitive to cold temperatures, and prolonged exposure to cold or frost can cause significant damage or even kill the plant. They thrive in warm, tropical conditions and are not frost-tolerant. To protect your papaya plant during the cold season you have to bring them to indoors or you can grow in greenhouse
Hi! My papaya is growing but I have a doub: when you say "keep adding kitchen vegetable waste every 15 days"... You mean in an empty bottle or just adding to the previous added?
@@arturosegovia17 I'm actually glad he planted the papaya in a container. It provided lots of valuable information for those of us who don't have land to grow it.
Good job How did you know that the Ababaya is female? Is it true that the F1 hybrid is guaranteed to bear fruit? I want to know that from you, because everyone says that most of the seeds are males and females are few.😊
didnt show how the kitchen waste in the bottles turned in to liquid. It was just sitting in the bottle. Did it rot in the bottle? if it did then it went to the soil?
Normally kitchen waste will break into liquid fertilizer in 1-2 days. You are right kitchen waste will rot in the bottle and it is a quick decomposition because we cover it with compost. You have a good idea, next video i will show the kitchen waste bottle after Harvesting
Good information 👍🏻 i was searching for papaya plant from a year ....i have grown papaya plant its tall now but there is no fruit. Flower will come but no fruit . What should i do
Honestly, i am not sure too but based on research to know male or female seed we need to soak the seed in water and the seed sinks down, it is the female seed, while the floating seed is the male seed
Normally papaya has male and female flowers in a single plant but if you have a farm the recommend should have some male plant to make more fruits productions

what climate is this in? I don't think we can do this here in Canada lol. great video thanks!
Here only two season dry and rainy season. In canada you can grow in greenhouse to protect from snow

Nice video. How do you keep papaya trees short? At what stage of growth do you top and how? Thank you.
Papaya short or tall based on variety. My papaya is holland variety. Yo can watch part 1 for more detail grow from papaya fruit

This is because of the papaya variety.

To make papaya grow short, when you plant it you need to cut the main root or put the rock to cover the bottom of the root
Thank You for Educating me.
My pleasure

They keep producing fruits after harvest. Papaya is easy to die in cold climates. You can cover them or grow in green house.

Normally female papaya plant have both male and female flower so they will pollinated
