    You should make your intake longer so that you can hold two balls at once, one in the cata and one in the intake section for more efficiency when running back and forward

    • @syongoel4339
      @syongoel4339 7 місяців тому

      He explained that there is a motor controlled system that adjusts how much the rubberband tension is pulled out for the catapult which in turn control the power and velocity of said catapult, allowing the robot to shoot at different heights.

    Ben liper here is somthing to consider I was at state with 50 other teams last year and there was only 5 including my teams bot that was not your bot and I was so mad for us to be third and both teams in second and first were your exact copy we did not complete are goal of worlds we worked thorough every lunch and recess for a whole year made it to state and we also stayed after school just for a team of non skilled kids to copy your bot place 2nd and go to worlds all in the time spawn of one week pls consider this is a student based game I love you and your channel so much but can you try to put things on your video to try and get people to use your idea and upgrade it rather then use your idea and win state off of a easy bot pls 😢

      @elkisking7891 7 місяців тому +4

      i know that’s frustrating but that’s just the disappointing part of robotics especially in iq, people will always copy robots and there are always adults releasing robots to copy, what Ben Lipper does is make a robot that is viable but still able to be improved upon so he is essentially just helping to level the playing field (it’s also important to remember that robotics is about learning not winning and he is simply giving kids more ways to learn)

    • @HappyChap8
      @HappyChap8 7 місяців тому +4

      @@elkisking7891 If I buy robot instructions from someone or they show me close ups of their robot what am I learning? I don't understand how their robot/mechs work, all I know is that it scores high.

      yeah i mean like i understand ben putting out the video idea but could you stop sending out the links and images of your robots because all of these people are taking your ideas and my states was loaded with your robot designs

    • @elkisking7891
      @elkisking7891 7 місяців тому +3

      @@HappyChap8 the thing is if he doesn’t show robots other people will anyway, you saw that a lot last year with full volume, IQ is just sadly a place with a lot of robot sharing and all he does is make a not perfect robot to allow newer and less experienced kids to still build a decent robot and have fun, and even if they don’t understand how the robot itself works (which they can learn easily while building it) they can still learn how to code it and drive it in this game especially the majority of scoring high will be in driving not robot functionality

    • @pyre46168G

      @@premmundra3584 so the way skills scoring works is the multiplier is based on how many switches are pressed. 1 switch = 4x for every goal, 2 = 8x, 3 = 10x, and 4 = 12x. This means the scoring breakdown for this is 8 goals and 4 switches for 100 points, I hope this helps

      flywheel is still the way to go imo, the reason why cata was good in pitching in was for the speed. this season, its more about accuracy and consistency so flywheel will be better. also because if u run cata you better pray that your rubberband tension is consistent
