appears to be a mid-60's ford F series. also whoever is trying to start is does not appear to know that much about choked carbs, or tuning. and when it died in the summer, was probably because the starter finally croaked. battery also sounds low.
Your boyfriend might be doing everything humanly possible to make this truck hard to start. I have been around cars all my life, and have never heard of any engine that needs TWELVE PUMPS of the pedal and full choke to start. Next time try 2 or 3 pumps and full choke, then as soon as the engine fires, bump the choke knob in about 1/3 of the way, and just touch the pedal slightly. Don't stab it half way down then immediately let up (like he is doing in the video)... that just makes the engine stumble and stall. Car guys call it "feathering" the pedal. Oh yeah, with all that pumping he has probably fouled the plugs which makes it even harder to start. Get some new spark plugs.
well he wasn't the "brightest crayon in the box". didn't really know how to start anything that has a manual choke on it. I learned how as a child from my father.. he'd send me out to start the 1975 vega we had that he converted to a manual choke. needless to say I did not care to fool around in the freezing cold so once I learned the trick.. that was that.
If the burnt or stuck valve is on an intake valve,it will affect its vacuum and make for cold-natured ,hard starts and acceleration. If its an exhaust valve,it'll just cause a dead miss.
Reminded me of trying to get a 1924 6hp John Deere to start and run- nice. With the manual choke and all. I am glad that you let the starter rest every once in a while. Hell of a battery though! We all have Nikola Tesla to thank for that. Just ask "Thomas-"Dumbass-" Edison." By the end of your video I was really having problems with your cameraman too. 😘
I bet it's got a leather accel pump in the carb, and it's fucked 'cause you don't use lead-additive, and the 10% ethanol aint doin' her any good either (that shit's in ALL the pumps now)....
I love the sound of that "crappie old truck" cranking. I just wish I could be there with you"
real turn on! great truck :-) i would love it for being so stubborn!

Here' a suggestion. While you're cranking your old Ford truck, try sliding the choke button in and out. And don't pump the gas. That might work.

Well, not the best choice for a 'get away car' but otherwise, pretty cool. Good job!

+Rob Gill I saw that.. if you mean the hit and miss engine?
that was my EX being dumb... notice his actions? i was the one with the camera.
this video is awesome!!!! love to see you slip those sandals off and work the pedal in just your socks! :)
What year is the truck and what Make? Also what is the condition of it inside and out. I have always wanted a classic truck.
I've got a 1948 ford f8 that is not restored and starts in -15 degree weather first try every time with a little bit of choke and not 12 pumps of gas
Yay^_^ It started. Sucks you have to start it like that all the time though.
Bruh, I'm right with you
I would not start either if I was being tapped by a man wearing sandals with socks!
What year is it and what kind of Dodge Truck?
you got a problem?
@sg53000 it already died this summer.
@sg53000 it's not mine, it was the BFs. I no longer live there. I posted this as a request
