I 100% endorse this helmet. Got doored in Manhattan yesterday going 22 MPH on my e-bike and was wearing the Nutcase Vio. I blacked out for a minute upon impact and ended up on the ground with a huge crowd around me waiting for the cops and paramedics. Didn't break anything but had scrapes and bruises all over my body. Went home and the next day noticed that my Nutcase Vio had scratches all over it and was dented in the back from the impact. I had zero recollection of even hitting my head at all and had zero pain anywhere on my head. The helmet did its job very well and totally absorbed the impact while protecting me. Always wear a helmet everybody, you never know when these random situations will happen, especially in a city like New York.
I prefer the styling of the Chapter but I find the lights on the Nutcase are far superior. Nutcase helmet is slightly more comfortable though that might depend on your head shape. Both are great options.
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks :)
Is it possible to put on and off the little visor (and how?) or is it fixed? (there are some pictures of the helmet without the visor on the nutcase website although it appears to be fixed)
Wow! I own the LUMOS MATRIX with MIPS LED Smart helmet. I love the matt black finish. It’s super bright LED’s are very bright even in daylight. Depending on settings, 10 hour maximum run time. I appreciate the Apple iPhone app and Apple Watch app turn signal arm/hand gestures. And the handlebar R | L wireless controller is detachable and magnetic. The magnetic charger charges both helmet and remote simulations once you place the wireless magnetic controller inside rear of the helmet. Did I say wow!
The question comes up is why did you say WOW! Kind of funny for ordinary citizen to be so verbally excited ,sounds almost like a salesman or some professional who wrote a sales copy. SUSPICIOUS just letting you know how I came off WOW!
Just went on the website for the lumos, nice helmet but cost too much considering you don't even get the charging cable with it. Have to add on padding, charger etc....... which ends up costing too much
According to REI, this weighs 14 oz. I personally have not felt any difference with this helmet compared to others with or without lights. I understand there might be some people who are more sensitive to heavier helmets.

Glad you're ok and thanks for sharing!
If you experienced a memory relapse after your accident, you should have your brain checked.
And make sure to replace your helmet.
Nutcase Vio vs Thousand Chapter Mips. Which do you prefer? looks, comfort, lights, & price? TIA

@EbikeEscape does this helmet have the new Dutch ebike certification?
You have good profile shots of you wearing the helmet. A lot of helmet reviews do not have simple but effective pictures
I've had mine for 5 months and the front head band is falling off. I can't seem to find replacement pads. any ideas?
Have you reached out to Nutcase?
Show it in the dark - how much light does this thing cast while riding?

Great and informative review. Thank you
Thank you.

It can be removed. I believe it is with some tabs on the visor itself. I don't have it handy but I can double check next week.
Just got mine and it's not charging and lights not working. Do not feel comfortable buying it again when the one you were sent was defected.
Oh no sorry to hear that!

That's a sweet looking helmet! I really want to review one of those.

Which one do you feel like your battery last longer on breathing mode or flashing mode?
I'm going to guess flashing mode but not sure for certain.
What about the weight? How heavy does it feel/is compared to regular nutcase.

Is it recommended for a speed pedelec (45km/h) and is the helmet NTA8776 certified?
It is not, but you might want to check out the ABUS Pedelec 2.0: ebikeescape.com/an-ebike-specific-helmet-abus-pedelec-2-0-review/
I know what I'm asking for this Christmas!!!!
I think this helmet would suit you well :)
Can I order through your website?
You can't order directly from me but using the first link in the description helps support the channel. Thanks!
Is the helmet waterproof?
Nothing specific on the website about it but I can't imagine water would be an issue.
No camera
😁😊😎👊👍😚👌💯!!
Lots of blabla about "cool", what about a crash test and protection
