I'm sure you may not see this comment because its an old video but your an inspiration and you don't even know it. Scott, thank you for what you do! keep up the videos!
I typically use mine on setting “C”. I fill the canister about 3/4 with water and then a couple ounces of soap (3-4) will do my car two or three times (small Miata). I use the one bucket method with 3-4 wash mitts and it’s been working great. Wonderful investment for all the lubrication in the world! Even works well with purple power soap, although i find myself using 6oz or so in the canister instead of 3-4 to get actual foam. Otherwise it looks like water and runs off the paint too fast.
I've become addicted to your videos, I haven't been outside in several days. My truck now hates me, it feels so neglected. All this knowledge has my head swirling and my Amazon credit card is maxed out, boxes all over my office. I think my wife is going to leave me... Keep 'em coming, I love your videos!!
Awesome video, I could see this being more efficient then a power washer on not so dirty vehicles. Especially as a mobile detailer, or someone washing in direct sunlight. PPVBW 4-6OZ, fill rest with water. Spray foam onto car. Wash. Rinse Rinse out mitt with the water nozzle. Reconnect Go onto the next panel. Faster then carrying a bucket around, carrying a pressure washer around, hooking a pressure washer up, filling up buckets, etc. Don't see it working exceptionally well on neglected vehicles though, as that would require a power washer.
I have the exact one Scott! And yep it's the foammaster 2 series. I got it off of Amazon. Really love the full foam setting as well ( i believe its letter E) and yes it does eat up a lot of soap but I didn't fill mine all the way up like you did. I filled it with about a quarter full of the bottle with Meguiar's gold class car wash to do my entire car (Both as a pre-wash and then again when using the mitt) LOVE mine. I don't have a pressure washer but this works just fine. My car doesn't get too dirty anyway. But if it did, this would still help in my opinion.
Add a short piece of hose with a quick disconnect and then you will have a flooding action like an actual hose with no nozzle. Helps to sheet the water less drying
I have one of those.I fill the canister with water minus 2 oz then add about 2 oz of chemical guys gloss workz soap.soaps up the panels as much as filling the whole canister with soap, much more efficient .P.S. thats my one bucket system!
I use the one that you used with a little garden house with a little 4oz bottle for a maintenence wash. Love that thing. Thanks for another helpful vid.
Thanks for making the video! I had the same model in Australia which is sold and branded by a local Auto parts store, Repco. Unfortunately I gave it to my old neighbour when I moved to the UK. Now that I know it's also branded by Gilmore I can get it again. Tip, I used to fill the reservoir like you with product but found I get as effective suds and coverage by filling with water then adding a few squirts of product. Saves Brrrrrttting that money away as I also used the foam to rinse my mitt.
Scott, i’m new to your channel, video suggestion, a full on through carwash, beginning to end no talking just pure ASMR car wash. Much love from Canada ♥️
I have mine and used my lifetime warranty. I mix 2 ounces concetrate with water. Same as remus but with Mr. Pink. I bought a gilmour quick disconnect adapter not a cheap one and a fire nozzle from dixon for garden hose. It has a bumper so it shold not scratch your car if it hits. So i switch from fire nozzle to faomer with the same shut off valve you have.
I've had this exact product for years. I have a foam gun as well but its great if you're not interested in purchasing a power washer and foam cannon. I had the same issue a few times with the actual canister and foam tip flying off, I thought it was only me but good to know others have done it. Even with well water pressure of 55psi this works well (more foam with hot water).
You're the man thanks for all of the tips and tricks hard work on videos , and just a good guy with positive energy we appreciate you. This is CHILL from Charlotte North Carolina,
I own the Adams foam gun & it works pretty good too. Definitely efficient on soap. But the one have is nicest I've seen besides the Adams brand. Great footage here,Brother!
Couldn't agree more, I love ours for that Sunday morn, fresh air, Cup O' Coffee maintenance wash. Don't feel bad. I doofesed out ONCE! with the Pressure Washer Wand. Wasn't plugged together. A 'one/two' bam bam on the front edge of our truck hood. Thank God it's White because now I have a tiny Whiskey dent. :(
I got the CG one with the brand name Torq which looks very similar to the Gilmore one here, except that I think the quick connect/disconnect on the gun of the CG gun is better. I use the CG Glossworkz at a mixing ratio of 4 oz product to 28 oz of water at a setting of 4 and get a good foam that covers the entire car.
I take another spray nozzle that I hooked a male connector to, and lock to "on", and connect that to the sprayer that connects to the foam cannon. Works great to get that spray pattern, Scott! 👍🏻
Hey you are doing his wrong. You don't need to fill it all with soap. I bought this btw. Works good. TIP: Only put FEW CAPS of soap. Rest with warm-hot water. Shake it up. Only need to put a little bit of soap in the bottom.
Hey Scott - awesome video..as usual. Just for the record, ever since I got addicted to your channel, I noticed that I started using some of your linguistic style and expressions... So I hope it's Ok with you. As far as foaming a car, what I do in my world to keep things simple is to use a hand-held pump spray (cost less than 10 bucks) to pre-soak and as clay luber. That Gilmore foamer doesn't work for me - it feels more like a pressure-washer that gave up the ghost...
I have that exact one. I use cheap soap for it, it does work, it’s not great, but it’s not terrible either. A good budget buy for some fun that works decent.
I have one as well but its a no name. It works just fine. From what I remember I don't recall it ever saying to fill it up with soap. If you fill it up with just soap there better be a hell of a lot of suds.
Spray from the top down….rinse to loosen dirt and dust first. Make a note of car washes….the first thing they do is pre scrub the exterior…..that is agitating the dirt and mixing it into your paint. Think about that next visit. I finally saw the light on automated car washes and…not again. Spent $900 on a Ceramic Coating…with Claybar, paint correction and the coating application…..I am not about to ruin it with the automated washes. Use microfiber towels!!! Well worth the investment but get color coded ones. You can make your own color codes but stick to it. If you accidentally use a interior towel on exterior surface…bad but not end of the world…..don’t toss, that towel once dirty can be used for the real dirty areas, tires, brake dust, door jams etc….NOt on external paint. You might be able to get away with it for glass but follow up with a dedicated glass towel!
If one uses the Wash and Wax soap product, does the fact that it has wax in it mess up the normal routine of polishing then using a sealant then waxing?
No, the wax within most soaps is filled with hype:) Plus if your going to polish after washing you should be using a clay bar if need or at the very least a paint prep before polishing and any residue will be removed anyway

What kind of interior detailer product would you recommend to keep a new car clean with leather interior just to keep dirt down from building up?
So if doing this on a black car would using the spray wax method be good prior to drying?
Wow 😲 that is a lot of foam 👍🏻Great informative video ✊Thanks
Thought about getting this vs the pressure washer and foam cannon and went with the latter combo. Nice to see a review on the Gilmour

One thing. Don't do a hand wash first. Rinse car then use foam gun. Then rinse after a min or 30 seconds and then rinse it again. Then do the same thing but you use the microfiber towel that you have
Then you can go into detail and removing scratches

what is the benefit of using a foam gun like this or a powered foam cannon, versus using a good two bucket wash system?
Helps with presoak and loosening up stuff.
What’s the best way to dry off the car after washing it and what micro fiber towel do you recommend to do so with out scratching the car?
I use a leaf blower or a drying towel from the rag company. I will try to look-up the name of it.
How do you connect it to the regular garden hose? Thanks
