Hi Tony, always enjoy your videos mate - really informative and great production values. Well done. Question: any plans to update AT4705B to 4G-5G? I believe the major carriers are starting to decommission 3G cells and reclaim that spectrum.
Hi Tony I have a CEL-FI Roam R41 that Im going to put in my new Kenworth which antenna would you suggest The AT4705B or the AT3700B or is there something better you would recommend? I have an iPhone 15 5G
Does the cellular booster that is inside the vehicle allow for all cell phones inside the car to use the boosted signal? Let’s say if we have 4 passengers will all of them benefit?
Hi Bob, unfortunately not. Only 1 device can be connected to the cel-fi go at a time (via the app). For more info on these we would recommend checking the Cel-fi go website!
Plus also it is service specific. I.e if you have an optus, telstra, vodaphone etc phone plan you have to purchase the celfi specific to your carrier as it doesn't support all carrier on the one device.
Personally, with the Cell-Fi devices I have worked with, there is NO NEED to use the 'app', and it's not limited to just one phone (That's a bit STOOPID). Cel-Fi Go devices retransmit the signal over normal 3G and 4G signals to ANY 3G or 4G device(s) within it's rebroadcast area. At one site in near Armadale NSW, I have approx 50 users on two Cell-Fi systems. One for Telstra and one for Optus as they are single carrier limited per device. The New Cel-Fi X I have not played with, but it can software switch between carriers via the phone app, but still only do one carrier at a time. This video is very deceptive (can I say 'incorrect'?) about the capability of Cell-Fi Go devices.
Hi mate I have the AT4705B on my Rv am I able to unscrew it and put extra long antenna on when stationary > If so could you point me in the right direction. eg One of the places I work if you climb the dune next to truck my phone works. Your thoughts?Tia
Hi there, unfortunately that would not be possible at this time as the AT4705B is the longest cellular antenna option that we currently have. We will be sure to pass your feedback on to the team though!
If you want to do that sort of thing, you would be better off with a directional Yagi or Log Periodic antenna on a pole, and knowing which direction the cell tower is to point the antenna to it. This will give you the best signal possible.
The AT4705BA is designed to work with cellular boosters such as Cel-Fi Go. You would need to check compatibility with the manufacturer of your Android device.
Hi mate, we don't sell these but the cel-fi go can be purchased from a number of different retailers. To find the closest we would suggest you check their website.
Telco Antennas, Red Fleet Safety, Altronics, there's heaps of retailers out there now. But a very important piece of information missed in the video, is that the base Cell-Fi Go unit will cost you just shy of $1k, and a decent antenna will be $200, plus the installation and cabling. Don't expect change out of $1.5k if you outsource the supply and install.
Im devastated. The whole reason I bought my celfi go was to be able to use youtube in remote areas. Bmmer. There goes 1500 bucks I gould have spent elsewhere.
The antennas are mounted in this location due to the bullbar tabs being there. But you are correct in that they can be mounted in a number of locations!
Excellent overview and explanation with the right amount of detail for a less than 4 minute vid. Thanks GME.
Side note, make sure you give the cel booster app permissions to run in the background of your phone. 👍
As always another awesome video
Excellent presentation

Very informative

If one antenna is operating at 477Mhz and the other one only operates 700-2100Mhz. There should be no crosstalk between the 2. Different frequencies.

Hi mate, either will work fine. Assuming you'll be mounting on a mirror arm of your truck, the AT3700B would be my choice!
@@GMEaus thank you

The app is not required. All phones on the network (ie Telstra) can use it.
Hi Tony, I have something to ask if we can use this antenna and booster in Philippines.
You would need to check your local regulations.
Is there a 5g option as of yet I’m also in Australia
Yes we do, our AT3700B cellular antenna is 5G compatible.
The anteenas at the front are too low and have the windscreen blocking from behind...
They work very well for our application.

Can I connect this antenna to my car android 4g player that have sma connection?

Can you use the cellular antenna as a uhf if you wish?
Hi Daniel, the cellular antenna can't be used for UHF as they are different.
Where can we buy the repeater?

@@Wiz_AuThanks mate..!!
I wanna get a cellular antenna but do I need the booster?
Yes you will require a booster/cel-fi go to work with your cellular antenna.
Have you got it in white with silver base?
unfortunately not, the cellular antennas are only available in black.
Thanks mate..!!

Did you end up using your cell fi? And was it worth it still?
300mm separation is a lot!
In the US we just use 24 inches.
It may seem so but at this separation it ensures optimum performance.
fishhuntadventure: 24 inches = 610mm!
What uhf is mounted on your car?
The 80 series runs both a XRS-330C and a XRS-390C UHF CB Radio.
Why would you have an antenna right in your line of sight wobbling around, you can have an antenna on the side of the car or the rear.
The antennas are mounted in this location due to the bullbar tabs being there. But you are correct in that they can be mounted in a number of locations!
@@GMEaus yeah fair call but mounts are easily moved, I’ll have my GME cell fi go antenna on the rear tyre carrier
